This is why i don't spend more than $150 on my hobbies, even then I make efforts to stay under that on any one purchase. I would rather spend money on posters to line my walls, for less than $50 a pop as opposed to $500 for one over priced paper weight. I like Lego, don't get me wrong, however i draw the line at that price and hate when companies profit off of nostalgia like that especially things that are 'broken' because....... That's absurd to me.
@@Openreality respectable ig, everybody got their own opinions, I just don't think I can agree, not when I'm planning on spending well over a 10 grand on lego pretty soon. Different types of people I suppose.
😂 there were a few repairs needed after the fact. I had to sacrifice for the thumbnail. lol the set itself though is surprisingly very sturdy to hold. Really well built!
14:45 I think this is the Marvel Millennium Falcon. I think this is the ultimate Marvel set and will be on the shelves for definitely more than five years.
Dont know if this is just me, but when i think of $500, i think of detail like that of the modular buildings, like the bookshop, or corner garage, which both have far more detail than this, and both arent even $500. Anyways, in my opinion, its an ok set, not worth 500 bucks though
Not worth 500 when you can get an off brand of the same exact set for 120 and the only difference is little lego stamps on the studs. Insert lego purist butthurt hate here👇
@TheBrickQuest I agree I'm not a total lego snob I try to stick to lego when I can. And though I can afford $500 for a lego set I just can't justify it in my head. I even feel guilty spending 300 sometimes like the daily bugle lol
Okay but with that logic just buy all knock offs in your life. Who cares about quality control or intellectual property/licensing! Right? And I say that as someone who's bought knock offs...but there's no reason to disparage anyone that wants to get the actual Lego version
@@Alex-zi1nbhe didn’t disparage anyone he just said a fact. It’s not worth $500 in any world. Some people are either too deep into the hobby to question the price or they just got it like that and nobody can really tell them how to spend their paper. Awesome set but definitely not worth $500
I agree, but I can't at the same time, I would rather not get the set at all rather than get a crappy duplicate, trust me, my friends have gotten tons of those for their birthdays from their cheap parents back in the day, and they either fell apart extremly easy, were too small for regular people with normal sized hands to build, all the instructions were in a different language, or the quality was just absolute crap, there is some decent brands out there though that do duplicates. I don't agree with spending $500 on plastic that's gonna sit in your room and definitely costed less than 100 bucks to make, but at this point I have so many official lego sets that buying knockoffs would just look ugly in the small town I have going rn.
Well if you did youd know its not called just "leviathan" its one of 3 that came trough the portal and leviathan just means "big whale monster" i could be wrong but the way you said it makes it seem like thats the creatures name and its not and some of the minifigs that you considered exclusive are not as well
That many mini figs, and exclusives, deserves a 15/15! And I'm assuming it's a lot harder to do Stan Lee fig due to dealing with an estate vs a living person. But idk
To answer your question, no. How lazy, are we, as members of a society, where this becomes the norm and not questioned? When everything is inflated beyond all sensibility already, now companies want to profit off OF OUR HOBBIES TOO?!?! I WILL VOTE FOR MY WALLET AND SAY NO HOBBY WILL COST ME MORE THAN WHAT I'M WILLING TO PAY AND $500 DOLLARS FOR SOMETHING THAT WILL LIVE IN MY SHELF WITH LIMITED SPACE, IS LUDICROUS. I HOPE LEGO GOES UNDER FOR PROFITING OFF OF NOSTALGIA LIKE THIS. EVEN POWER WHEELS TOYS ARE AT LEAST WORTH THEIR PRICE AND LAST I CHECKED THE MOST EXPENSIVE ONE SOLD FOR $450. STILL MORE WORTH IT THAN A CHILD'S STATIONARY TOY.
Calm down. Also, I aint lazy, I just gave up to corporate greed forever ago then covid happened and I just stopped giving shit and just handed over my card without even looking at the price most times.
