other plusses: 1) Sweeping function instead of manual grind in other games like HSR / GI / GFL(?) 2) The combat and problem solving aspect of endgame content is actually pretty fun if you don't use guides and copy their rotations. you a toolbox of characters at your disposal and they all have their niche and uses, and its up to you to pick out the correct ones for the situation to clear the harder content. If you're lazy you can always use a guide and copy their team.
Sweeping is huuuuuge, probably wouldn't have played for so long without it. And yes, I mentioned in another video of mine how team building is my favorite part of rpgs/gachas, and this game is sooo good for that with all the different kits to choose from. W comment
i started playing 3 months ago. I managed to save up 100,063 pyroxenes, 20 single tickets, and 8 10x tickets. I recently pulled on NY mutsuki banner and got her in 70 pulls so i have 1 10x ticket left. The game is really fun to play and i cant wait for dress hina!
Really good video. I also asked the same question when I left the game during launch and came back like a year later. The FOMO on content almost made me not want to go back but good thing I still tried. Past events are now permanent and the featured free students can be obtained anytime. Now I'm able to clear Torment (which is the highest raid difficulty) and I have very invested students and those who I really like too. BA is really generous when it comes to handing out pyroxene (premium currency) and you get rewarded in challenge stages and being able to clear high difficulty raids. Anniversary is soon and 100 free pulls incoming! Hope you're ready for Dress Hina which is the strongest Explosive DMG dps so far
It was a bit intimidating for me, but I was lucky enough to get a lot of good students during anniversary banner (Ako, Himari, Mika, and S. Hanako all in one day) and that really motivated me to keep going. The 6% anniversary banners are really the best time to start, so that's why I wanted to make the video before the D. Hina banner! That is crazy you were able to do Torment after falling behind too! Love the game, and hope this video can convince anyone who is on the fence about starting :)
@@Maxcie Its a video I'll definitely recommend to friends who's contemplating in starting BA! Proved many points that I thought but cant put in words haha
I started playing three weeks ago (so around two weeks after this video released), a few days before Dress Hina's banner dropped (she was the character who lured me into the game). I can vouch for the statement that Fes banners (anniversary banners) really kickstart your account. While pulling for Dress Hina, I got a bunch of off-focus 3-star characters who have helped me push the Missions, including the re-ran Fes characters mentioned in the video (except Wakamo, who I didn't get). For context, clearing higher-level Missions unlocks upgrades for the Cafe, which is important because it increases your supply of stamina points, which are used to increase the account level. So, the sooner you push these missions to unlock the upgrades, the faster you can level up. Right now, after 20 days of playing, I was able to unlock the second-to-last Cafe upgrade, clearing the required Mission stage despite being underleveled by almost 40 levels (my account and students are level 52, while this Mission has level 90 enemies and bosses). How was it possible? Well, the characters I got from the anniversary banner (and the 100 free pulls campaign from the week prior, namely Iroha) are just that strong! So my account is set-up to grow very fast pretty early on, just because of all the good stuff I got from the anniversary events and campaigns. As a footnote: I think it's important to mention this for people who are not familiar with this game. In Blue Archive, a lot of "free-to-play-friendly" characters are actually amazing. The good stuff is not just limited to the limited-run 3-star characters (like those from the anniversary banner); some 2-star and 1-star units are great too. My favorite example is Yuuka, a character you get for free from the prologue and who is a low rarity student in the gacha. She is an amazing tank when you invest in her (increase relationship level, upgrade gear and skills, etc), and she even is top notch in both PVP and for pushing Missions. Tsubaki was also mentioned in the video, and she is another great tank too. In terms of DPS characters, OG Hina is now given for free if you complete some challenges, and she is amazing with some support. Oh... Another feature of this game is that you can obtain some non-limited high rarity characters without needing to roll in the gacha, by farming their Elephs (the character-specific material used for Limit Break). It takes some time (and in some cases requires pushing Missions on Hard mode), but it's something that is possible. I've heard OG Aru is another great DPS that can be obtained in this way, but I haven't been able to farm her Elephs yet.
Bro, lmao same. But i was hooked to Izuna (for Senko reasons...) though I didn't know Dress Hina was kind of a meta i was just gambling the fest for Izuna but didnt get lmao, managed to get 4/5 of the fest though!
It’s funny you say the reason you were able to progress so well is because you started on the 2.5 anniversary. I just started a little over a month ago for the 3 year and got so many good characters. Dress hina, swimsuit hoshino, Mika, swimsuit hanako and so many other good ones. I’m actually just saving up for the 3.5 year atm. Battle Hoshino and terror shiroko looks great. I might pull a little bit here and there but will save most of my pyro for that.
@@PathOfDamn no if you’re interested in the game you should definitely get into it. The story itself is a legit masterpiece imo. I’m obsessed with it. If I were starting fresh I would probably only do like 100-150 pulls to get some characters for missions, then save at least 24k pyro for the 3.5 banner (about 3ish months from now). After you have your stock pile just pull on banners you want, you get a lot more pyro as a new player. Probably the most important thing is planning and saving for the characters you want. we have an advantage on the global server with that because we’re 5-6 months behind Japan, so you can prepare way ahead of time.
First off thank you for making a video for new players from the perspective of a new(ish) player! I joined the game about a month and a half ago, while Kurokage was the active raid boss. I'm really enjoying it so far! A couple of RU-vidrs talk about making the switch from 'casually' playing the game to 'actively' once you're ready to start tackling the high-end raid difficulties and stuff like that. I'm really looking forward to intricately understanding how to build the right characters for the different fights and execute a good battle plan. Got my first taste beating up the, uh, first difficulty check of the main story at level 39. That was really fun to try and puzzle out with mostly 2 star students.
Welcome new sensei. I have not watched a lot of BA RU-vidrs but I could definitely agree with that sentiment! For me right now, I sort of build up materials very casually for a month, then when the total assault drops I spend all I've gathered on fine tuning the characters I need for whatever boss. Dunno if I will ever shoot for clearing Insane difficulty, but I really enjoy the teambuilding and slight difficulty I get from Extreme every once and a while. Like you said, trying to piece together the students is a blast, team building is my favorite part of any rpg! Best of luck to you on your journey, thanks for the support :)
I randomly started playing recently and was lucky enough to get the dress hina, swimsuit hoshino, iroha, and dress ako banners as I was just starting. Really happy that I was able to get them. Haven't figured out if dress ako is strong or how to maximize her value, but the other 3 are absolute beasts. Plus, I also got other great students while I was rolling for those banners.
Underrated vid, love how you explain the game and i agree with pretty much every statement as i just started playing last month on the 21st, im hooked and don't plan on quitting anytime soon, looking forward to d.ako with the 100 pulls and then d.hina after.
You should really have played through the Eden Treaty storyling before commenting on the visual novel aspect. Eden Treaty is where the story really starts to pick up and become something interesting.
Started playing JP on release, spent some money, lost my account, quit. I was about to start over again now, this time on Global but after reading about how they butcher the localisation I'm not sure whether I want to invest my time in such a game/company.
The moment you gave your opinion on the wurthering waves characters I SUBSCRIBED HOLY cow. Idk if it’s the voice acting that feels soulless but YOU ARE SO RIGHT
my twisted logic is that I will never go back and read them if I skip for the pyroxenes, so I'm just perpetually waiting until I decide I have enough time to do them.
@@MaxcieYou could either record all of them on with auto on or Confirm that there is an upload for that part of the story or momotalk and contains all the plot and info you want
@@Pro-Diletante I interpret the story differently, I see sensei as their own main character instead of me being sensei themself so I'm fine with a playthrough of any kind.
yeah allow me to describe the story for each chap with a phrase 1. Dead. 2. who's pulling the lever in the trolley problem? 3. Racism. 4. Homeless Elites
Shouldn't you try to get to lvl 18-5 to upgrade your cafe, considering your lvl it should be easy,(i'm lvl 47 and got to lvl 15-5) don't have enough strong characters against heavy armor
Probably the easiest game to start regardless of what year you start imo, I recently started playing, and the game really easy to catch on, what make this game great for me is no overly drawn out slop farm, even if there is, there is at least a sweep clear system which I can appreciate.
I also started playing last January 2024 Been playing casually everyday (dailes/events) And I've been able to reach Lvl 84 already. I have most meta/famous chars for easy golds in any event Cleared all story (hard and main) Blue archive is very generous and you should start playing too! PLAY NOW.
Blue Archive does not have a PC client, so you’ll have to play on a mobile emulator. The one I use is Bluestacks 5, it is a little heavy on the CPU but works great.
Tbh I played for about 4/5 months and then just drop it. As a f2p player, game wasn't friendly at all. I couldn't progress any further cause I didn't have "proper" characters because I simply couldn't get them.
This game progression cannot be rushed through. Even vets who know the game well will need to spend 4-5mths building a new account to tackle one specific torment raid (mind you they plan everything such as which banners to pull, what raids to sacrifice scire or even platinum ranking for so they do not over invest in units which arent necessary for the torment raid they want) Now i dont know how you pulled for characters but pulling only those 'meta' units without pulling for niche ones will result in you having a roster which has the base supports but no students which excel at their raids to help you progress. In the end you get a roster which doesnt suck at any raid but also doesnt excel at any raid relative to your progress. This usually also means you spread ur resources too thin to build the units you have for a raid but didnt invest any into because you thought you didnt need them.
When i started playing f2p i only focus on 2 banner, mika & s.hoshino anniversary banner and himari, why? Cuz they meta student, i save all my pyro and skip all banner in order to get these 3 student, and now almost all the game content feels easy with them,I don’t think it’s the game fault not being f2p friendly, u just have skill issue playing this super simple gacha game.
@@renon1946 I really love the visual novel story and how they made it with all the sound effects! Gameplay gets a bit choppy on my phone sometimes, but I am really loving the slice and life with action sprinkled story. Characters also have lots of personalities and are fun and well-written.
