No one should do this. He is an entertainer and philanthropist, not your best friend. Do not be parasocial and stream snipe, especially trying to ride with him. Just sit back and enjoy the content, and even donate if you can and are willing. That is the extent to which your interactions with this man and his crew should be. Stream sniping makes things about you, not the content creator and their projects. Connor is being too nice here, he should flat out tell everyone to never do this.
@@jadendobson9614 i mean i see what you are saying but stream sniping in general is kinda questionable, even if you have the best of intentions and stuff and just want to say hi bye its weird. and its tough too cause if he says "dont stream snipe me" and gets angry people will be more likely to do it or only the sketchy will, and people will be like "wow connor is so angry he needs to chill" Its unfortunate because in a perfect world it would be neat to be like "hey connor is streaming and is only 20 minutes away from where i am it, it would be cool to see this person i watch all the time, and see he is an actual human" but in practice because of the large audience it can be tough And also derail the stream a bit. It is kinda tough because being firm and saying "dont do this" will make seem distant from fans but its something many streamers have to deal with, the term parasocial gets thrown around a lot but it is true for a lot of people see Connor as a friend when in reality he is just a guy doing things and uploading them, he seems like a cool guy tho but yeah it is kinda sad that its that common. I guess its similar to people wanting autographs of celebrities and stuff in hollywood and all of that.

I would never understand the mentality of stream sniper. Knowing that he is the middle of stream and still try to have a conversation? Just how big your ego is? Nobody is excited to watch the awkward conversation with stream snipers it’s just annoying, period
Pretty certain most don't do it to be on the stream. They are just nearby in the area and just want to meet him when they have a chance. A chance they might never easily have again.
I love when people say this, but 90% of stream snipers are the chillest dudes on the planet. Literally, all the cool interactions he had with snipers in previous cyclathons, with the dude who was walking across Japan, to Amanda who brought the whole gang drinks. I understand why Connor has to say this, and trust me I'm aware about the dangers of sniping and how people can be weird, but people in the comments treating snipers like they're the fucking worst humans in existence when most of them are actually nice guys, and Connor and chat immediately loves them when any of them are cool and chill. Would any of you condemn Amanda for sniping Connor during his first cyclathon? Would any of you condemn that one dude who was walking across Japan and just wanted to give Connor some fruits? How about that one guy who came and gave Connor a tour of a foreign country and then both of them had a nice meal together on stream? It we're gonna treat snipers like the worst humans on the planet, why don't you treat these interactions as negative too?
Could be nice to form mini groups of stream snipers (not on bikes) to cheer them on from the sidewalk as they pass, but trying to bike along for the whole day just feels… egotistical?
It's so weird that people even want to do this. It's like showing up to a party that you were not invited too. Unless you are just a super cool person, which you most likely aren't, you aren't going to pull it off in a way that won't be cringey has hell.
I think people should just think of it this way. What Connor and his crew are doing is trying to raise money for a very important and wholesome cause. So let’s say you find them and hang out and everything is fine, ok, cool, but what if you say something dumb, or at the very worst somehow ruin the whole event? Do you really want to be the guy that ruined this? That would be awful. Connor isn’t going to be your friend and he doesn’t have to, he doesn’t owe you. There’s just not many upsides to doing this and it could potentially ruin a very good thing.
I wish people would err on the side of caution and just not. I think waving and (respectfully) cheering as he goes by would be pretty cool, but actively joining or trying to chat with him has pretty much always killed the momentum of a stream as a viewer, and as cool as Connor is I imagine he also has some anxiety over the gacha pull of a stranger butting in to the stream
Idk about riding alongside him but I think it would be cool to like be able to hand him and his guest/s a bottle of pocari sweat or some energy jelly or something along the way.
I mean, if it’s just to say hi or whatever, and as long as you don’t try to stop Connor from cycling or doing his thing, I think that could be nice. But yeah, don’t try to derail the whole thing just because you want a chance at the spotlight or whatever. Also, Connor’s not gonna be cycling alone lol he’s got a crew following him in a car, and if anyone tries to get cheeky with him, it’s gonna get ugly real bad. I’m also fairly certain he’s alerted local authorities as well, so that there aren’t issues with him recording in places and stuff. Just saying, if you wanna try and cause problems with Connor, you’re gonna end up losing in a bad way.
fans joining in to cycle for the cause would be kinda wholesome. But People who seriously want to troll snipe during the cycle… what’s your plan? They are doing it for a cause, and they are streaming. They are going to be engaging with hundreds of people, and talking amongst themselves… not you the whole time. Especially not in a car just tailing. Go call your boss and ask for extra hours at work if you have that much free time. And then donate that money to the cause
It's the Parasocial thing again, people need to understand that the streamer has zero idea who you are. You are a stranger to them. Just because you've spent thousands of hours watching them and listening to their voice does not make you their friend.
Ran into Chris Broad and his crew doing a shoot at ( *redacted for spoilers* ) a week ago. Couldn't say a word to him. I would have liked to but i didnt want to bother someone in the middle of work. Especially because ( *redacted* ) is a very time sensitive location. Low tide with enough time to shoot isnt that long.
If I was that guy I'd meet up, fist bump, pass him a snack or something (you need the energy to not bonk, ehich is basically when you can barely keep going) and go on my way, either outpacing him or falling behind purposefully, any other way is just a bit creepy.

Remembering those 3 drunk guys stream sniping. Especially that one dude. It made me extremely uncomfortable and I'm on the other side of the world. Part of the reason why I don't go out mucj drinking other people make me uncomfortable. Social anxiety for the win.
We do share a difference of opinion on the whole snipping thing. But I do get you. Some people are real cringe. But I don’t see what’s wrong with someone coming up saying. “Oh hey Connor I watch your shit. How’s it going”. Then just leaving. Like don’t be a asshat and like linger. But like coming up saying hey dude seems like the least you can do for your fan base.
