Cloud download is preferable to local download since they keep your system up to date with the most recent Windows updates. As a result, the files are not harmed by this procedure.

@mohammadal-shami6613 Maybe there's something wrong with your Windows Recovery Partition (WINRE). Sometimes, it can cause you to fail to use the reset option...

I let mine do its things overnight and when i woke up it was off. So i turned it on but it says undoing changes and it's been on that screen for half an hour now.

Whenever possible I choose Cloud Download so I get the latest version versus Local Reinstall that will just use the existing version on my PC.

I always create a "Fresh" USB Thumb Drive to install with a clean install. Between problems with the Internet and the Cloud, it is the safer bet.

I bought a new HP Laptop in July as a test bed. Local Reinstall failed annoyingly so was forced to use "HP Cloud Recovery Tool".

Cloud and local will reinstall all the drivers you’ve been using. So if you used some trash program like snappy driver installer and installed all the drivers from there and now you’re getting throttling. You’ll now be reinstalling all those drivers again on local and cloud reinstalls.

Correct... reseting Windows trough both Local & Cloud option eventually will still detect previous installed drivers, because reset option will not delete your installed driver. So if you had some problems or issue caused by your driver, try Clean Installation instead of reset, because it will surely wipes all the drivers...

if you have a partitioned drive with the windows installed on one, will resetting remove all the files on both drives or just the one with the installed windows

To: Jim Brian, Britec09, I have been reinstalling both Windows 10 or 11 Pro to what was at one time a "Local Accont Setup" instead of a "Microsoft Account". Microsoft would install the wrong Account for the computer it was intended for. Reinstalling a Local Account instead Microsoft Account. Noticing my last Windows 10 Pro Local Reinstall went as far to remove English World", leaving only English European to use. Which I later changed back to my prefered English Region after reinstalling to Local Account. Now, I am or rather will be upgrading to 11 Pro from 10 Pro and wanted to know if you had tried an Install or rather Cloud Upgrade to 11 from 10 and noticed if there were any Region choices while going thru the process. And would you share advice if you had tried this. I will be running a clean install and not saving anything

Hi there. I re-purpose bit lockered Dell laptops amongst other stuff. After installing Windows 10 Pro or Home editions from USB and then a fresh install of Windows 11 Pro or Home from USB, I found that the quickest and most seamless method was to let Windows automatically upgrade from Win 10 to Win 11.I hope this helps.

@@ericsbuell I have done this in the past yet Microsoft gets my computers all wrong so when a Reinstall is finished My (OLD) Microsoft Accounts or really One Drive always loads the wrong desktop. Since i have several other desktops. Hoping to find a workaround for this problem I decided to use my (Original) Local Account setup, which is a Name, Email address and log-in password. This way my computers remain seperate and do not need a Microsoft Account. The downside to this is I need a larger backup which I am working on for each desktop and plenty of backup hard drived or NVME M.2's. I also had 8 Microsoft Accounts that have since been deleted. And thank you for the help I do appreciate it.

No. Since Windows is re-installed on the same computer, the license (digital in most cases) will recognize it as such.

Think it's time I do this. Windows update says there are updates/security fixes missing, but won't let me get them. Tried all the DISM commands and SFC and none worked. Maybe doing this will fix it so I can get Windows updates again. Using Windows 10 BTW.

Hey, Brian Changed UEFI user mood to platform mood and then reversed to enable firmware protection.. But now I can't enable memory integrity due to incompatible drivers.. Checked them... No suspicious drivers. Installed factory default keys to enable secure boot, it's enabled showing in windows device Security. Reply soon.
