They changed the contract and now they are openly taking 30 % of your royalties, and they set up a money threshold of 50$ min. to send you payments. I am thinking about leaving as soon as the year ends.Maybe it was good before , but now not really.
Symphonic is fantastic I had a very bad experience with distrokid they keep taking money out of my account and my royalty were never paid correctly so for my its symphonic 100%
Do they takedown all your distributed with them if you don't renew your subscription or your music is there forever? Distrokid take down your music if you don't renew with them.
They take your content down at the expiration of the one year term. So if you don’t renew it’ll be removed and if you cancel your subscription (months, weeks, or days) before the one year ends you’ll still have access to your account until the one year term expires before the content is also removed. They don’t do refunds for early cancellation so this could be why they allow the account to still be accessible even with an inactive subscription until the full one year term is fulfilled. Idk if they truly honor that part but that’s basically how it’s worded on their site
I have questions about them. I'm not an artist so I applied to be a partner but was denied. If my signed artist joins them, does that mean that they are now their publisher and taking 30%? Do I sign up as an artist if I only want to use them as a distributor?
