Well it was hyped up sense the beginning. It wouldn't make sense if he didn't get it. Plus like we see yuji has made shrine his own by interpreting the technique his way. Being able to focus the cuts for more support options. Like when he cut that pillar.

I think that Shrine fits Yuji perfectly, taking his interpretation into account. Gege stated that if Yuji wouldn't have became a sorcerer, he would become a firefighter, a direct opposite of Sukuna, who uses flames to kill others. In my opinion, Yuji's interpretation will make him use water instead of fire, as it fits him way better. Scissors being used instead of knives for Cleave and Dismantle are great showcase of Yuji being considerate of his surroundings and only wanting to cut what he wants. They also fit firefighters, because they often use them to cut people's clothes to perform first aid.

This might sound random but from the moment Yuji used Slaughter Demon(Maki’s knife) and that one time he used a combat knife vs Yuta. The whole argument of Yuji hating or not getting a destructive ct like cutting didn’t matter. From the way I seen it, Yuji didn’t mind using weapons, so why would he be picky of a ct? Also Yuji is mostly going to use this ct on curses so it didn’t matter how destructive it is.

well, maybe Shrine is *exactly* what he needs... to save Megumi, which seems to be a higher priority goal than actually ending Sukuna for everyone involved so far (except Kashimo). since Soul Punches along with Yuji's attempts to reason with Megumi failed to sever the bond between Sukuna and Megumi's soul, perhaps a Soul *Cleave* can get the job done forcefully

I don't think that the Shibuya Incident was the right point, because Yuji mentality would be refusing to accept that, i think that Yuji could have awaken Shrine there, but his mind refuse to do so. But now Yuji is willing to do *ANYTHING* to defeat Sukuna, to save Megumi, even if it means becoming like Sukuna. Unlike before where he just carry the weight of Sukuna's actions which disgusted him.

Mark my words eternal the same way maki had an incomplete awakening in zenin clan battle then fully awakened against cursed Naoya yuji will also have his full awakening unlocking both the death painting mark like choso and his mother anti gravity just watch

Hopefully another reason why gege had Yuta to intervene is so Yuji can at least get a crash course of what shrine really is and how he can use it in unique ways, along with blood manipulation and to learn how to cast a domain expansion.

i don’t think Yuji is a pacifist or anything, he’s killed before, and if he thinks it’s valid, he’ll do it again. he wants Sukuna dead right now lol

I somewhat agree but sukuna has said that yuji's shine is different from his because of yuji's mindset and the era he was born in. it may have the same techniques like Cleve,dismantle and fuga but it will be alot different.

Yuji should have anti gravity his mothers technique. I hate that they gave him blood manipulation when 2 other characters have that already. We only seen anti gravity from 1 person Kenjaku

From what we have seen Yuji in regards to using cleave and dismantle is that he doesn't use it as Sukuna does which is from range but rather up close and personal and his cleave and dismantle are more of scissor cut than one direction slash. For the way he currently uses cleave and dismantle it fits rather well with his punch kick merchant style of fighting since he likes to be up close and personal throwing hands and feet and if he could combine C&D with his punches and kicks I would argue that leaves a devastating amount of damage on whoever he is fighting since not only do they get injured from impact damage but cut to shreds as well. How he combines it BM remains to be seen but having access to a higher efficiency of RCT plus the potential defensive mechanics makes him a walking tank. Him getting Shrine doesn't feel wrong or an asspull since it's been foreshadowed hell even foretold by Gojo since the beginning of JJK but what throws people off is the only way we have seen Shrine used was from the perspective of Sukuna and it being used in a malicious way. We have never seen it being used in a "good or benevolent" way which could be just as powerful as Sukuna's shrine. He just gained access to ability so we need to wait and see how far he progresses with the technique and how he makes it his own.

I WOULDN'T be surprised if sakuna has a bunch of binding vows on shrine. The one thing he has in commen with sakuna is eating whatever, hopefully he utilizes it differently.

Yuji is the perfect vessel for the shrine technique, just like how the star plasma vessels need to be compatible with Tengen and her technique. Think of them like future reincarnations that don't retain their soul and mind because people like Kenjaku, Tengen, and Sakuna still exist within the world on some way and refuse a proper death their technues do not pass on except for Yuji who did a vessels job and was able to house the king of curses and his technique Kenjaku just did something extremely extra to turn Yuji into a prison instead.

Sukuna have had years to perfect shrine including with the use of binding vow, I don't want yuji to surpass sukuna in shrine instead I want yuji to surpass him using BM and shrine (using BM to make up for his shrine weakness) BM is extremely versatile and underrated. Choso defended yuji from flame arrow using BM which is insane when even mahoraga couldn't survive it. The entire fan base is to focused on shrine so I hope gege focuses on BM. Shrine is a very attack based technique combine that with BM mobility and defensive capabilities and yuji the BEAST would be complete.

Well it was hinted that he might get Sakuna’s curse technique. It’s like if Nanimi’s curse tool got a different technique. Nanimi’s tool didn’t have a technique but it got his since it was dipped in his curse energy for years

even though we were waiting to see if he would actually get it didn't seem like it would be too interesting, but the whole interpretation thing makes it exciting since you don't know exactly how dismantle, or even furnace, will work in his hands.

At the time it was happening, I just KNEW he’d awaken shrine during the Mahito. When Mahito transformed, I literally said “it’s time…” but in hindsight, maybe that wouldn’t have been the best narratively? He was going toe to toe with Higuruma without cursed energy. If all he lost was a recently developed CT, he’d probably walk Higuruma down mid diff then we don’t get that character arc/dynamic.

Sukuna's version doesnt suit yuji, but thankfully his shrine will develope his own version of it. But still the constrasting themes between him and sukuna fits too well

I think shrine fits him… just because Sukuna is more brutal with his shrine doesn’t mean Yuji will be the same. Yuji is more “careful” in how he cuts… Yuji cuts along the lines. The kid that doesn’t color outside the lines. Not saying Sukuna can’t be just as precise because he can be whenever he needs it to be. Sukuna is the experimental artist. He learned the rules to bend and break them to be free to create. Same with Yuji he learning the rules to bend n break em to suit his own creativity. Which kinda plays into his love for movies…a director “cut”😁

if yuji had shrine as early as the vs mahito fight then a lot of narrative reasons why Yuji felt helpless and realied heavily on his comrades wouldn't have been needed during Culling game. Simply because he would have had a lot more time to hone that CT. Him awakening it for the first time against Sukuna just feels better. What I think tho is that Gege shouldn't have made Yuta use it before Yuji just because it was such an awkward placement and ended up seeming irrelevant. Also the reason Gege didn't let mahito get killed by Yuji is simply because Kenjkau needed Idle transfiguration to start the culling game. Not necesaarily becasue of their mentalities.

You're absolutely right to think yuji shouldn't have a CT😎 and thanks to Kenjaku he doesn't. Yujis half assed heavenly restriction (Sukunas words not mine) has basically been confirmed because Sukuna is the twin tht GOT the cursed energy 👉(negative emotions)👈 in parallel with maki and mai but more than anything yuji is a vessel. A vessel that not only can contain the king of curses but his loved ones and their ideals. all of these extra powers are just cursed energy (negative emotions) yuji has picked up along the way. just wait till we really see what yuji got from uiuis' body swap training because yuta is cracked in the head.

Between everyone getting simple domain protection / 'power ups' Gojo being brought back to the battlefield for his technique, Todo's dead cursed technique being revived with a doohickey, it'd be nice to see something not repeat itself. Jjk's power system didn't exactly flesh out to be like hunter x hunter or Jojo's, weaker powers usually don't beat stronger ones with wits (Yuji's never punching through infinity, Mahoraga being the only one who could demonstrate how to get past it) so to see Sukuna's domain reimagined by Yuji with a different purpose would be narrwtively end of the story satisfying, I just find it kinda boring. Make his domain about burials to tie into the good desth or whatever instead

I think giving yuji blood manipulation was a mistake actually even without yuji there is two people with blood manipulation norotshi who is worst choso and now choso is worse yuji and choso is dead now it really is annoying

The shrine doesn’t fit Yuji narrative is completely ridiculous, the technique itself is abstract. It adapts to the user, sukuna’s shrine is like that because it is sukuna’s shrine. We have to stop imagining Yuji with shrine will be like Sukuna, No. Yuji will put his own personality and his own interpretation to the technique and make a shrine that is his. Thats how cursed techniques like shrine and ten shadows work, adaptable to the user. That’s what makes cursed techniques so unique and incredible as a power system. Unrelated but I think Yuta can copy a technique but he can’t put his own interpretation and personality to change the technique that would be a cool drawback to the ridiculously OP technique of copy

I like the idea of Yuji awakening Shrine against Mahito. In your scenario would he have learned blood manipulation before or during the fight with Sukuna?

I just realised, the whole premise of the series is Yuji eating the fingers, in order to suppress sukuna because they can’t destroy the fingers any other way. So why didn’t Gojo or the higher ups just get Yuta/Rika to eat the fingers they had in their possession wayyyyy back?

in short, i don’t think giving yuji shrine was a good idea nor was giving blood manipulation a good idea either, ik that it was stated in the beginning, but that doesn’t change the fact these techniques do NOT match yuji in the slightest, yuji already struggles with not being an interesting character and sidelined in his own series, he should’ve at the very least awakened an ability unique to him seeing how he wasn’t a traditional sorcerer that would make for a more interesting trait but unfortunately gege went the lazy route and jus said “f*ck it, i don’t feel like making my mc interesting so just give him hand-me-down techniques and be through” at least it feels like that to me

I just dont like the fact that Gege just throws it in Like when Yuji reveals he has shrine theres no real fanfare around it. It just feels like Gege brings it up in the story with the “yeah here ya go” type of energy. It honestly feels like Gege is trying to wrap the story up and just threw in Yuji having shrine for the sake of fulfilling the earlier plot point rather than the feeling of someone who actually planned out a character gaining an ability. Same goes for his other abilities. The fact that he comes into this final battle with a whole new bag just feels like Gege was like “oh shit I’m bouta end the story and my main character has like….nothing”. Obviously it makes sense narratively to say “he gained them all during the month timeskip” but that doesn’t mean the stuff feels fulfilling. For me, it just feels like a box getting checked before the end

I hope yuji loses shrine. Give it to megumi. Let yuji focus on blood manipulation. If mahoraga and the six eyes limitless are about equal then the kamo clans bm should also be on par. Let yuji be his own character
