As a long time avid golfer and football player in college, I had this similar injury. Terrible pain in left arm with weaknes/numbness. Took months to diagnose, went to PT, massage therapists, chiropractors, acupuncture and eventually an MRI. It was a bulging disk pressing on my C5 and C6. As you speak of it and your symptoms it sounds exactly the same. It will eventually go away and if at all costs... stay away from any surgery as the nerves eventually get used to the bulge and you’ll find relief. It did take time though.
