There’s a Reddit post that asked about Courtney’s ring from a Reddit story within the last 6-8 months? I think that’s the first time anyone ever mentioned it in my algorithm.
This is actually incredible. Not just that they kept it on the hush hush from fans. But the fact that the cast was able to be hush hush too is insane to me. The editors definitely helped out, so credit to them. I've honestly brushed off their closeness in recent years because of that shipping pressure as much as I root for them. But hey, now it's a thing and I'm happy for these internet stangers
@@gash8995 those little moments where shayne drops the goofy side for a bit are part of why i feel so comfy watching him and the same applies to almost every other cast members as well
We should know the moment Shayne actually knew what Anastasia Beverly Hills was in trivial pursuit to make Courtney laugh, that may should make us suspect something
Given how excited she was alone, I was like, yeah they're definitely together lol Its a perfect example of the kinda shit you learn to make your partner happy.
I love that smosh mouth moment where Shayne says that every successful relationship is based on a strong friendship. It's something I've learned from Shayne from Reddit stories, and to know that he is now married to his best friend genuinely brings me to tears. They deserve the world. ❤
It’s something our younger gens are losing. It became awkward to date friends and we have fewer friends. I really think it’s part of the rising singleness and divorce rates
@@OctagonalSquare at least in the US, divorce rates are still consistently trending down but I do agree that it is likely due to less marriages overall from lack of friendship/intimacy among people
@@OctagonalSquare i dont think thats true at all honestly. i think people now are much more likely to date actual good friends than the older generations ever did. given that the norm for a lot of older generations would be to get married so extremely young and fast and start pumping out kids asap whereas people now have time to actually become real friends and take their time with relationships and explore instead of being pressured to be married with kids by 25. all of that surely adds to the rise of singleness because women arent forced to just marry a guy for stability and money since they can actually have good careers now and motherhood isnt the only thing there is or because of shame of being older and single. and same goes for men probably not needing or feeling pressured to have the perfect family right after highschool and being able to enjoy time being single etc. do younger people have fewer friends now? absolutely. did it ever become awkward to date friends tho? absolutely not imo.
Damien's bit at 16:20 is even funnier now because if you look at their engagement pic Courtney had bangs and Shayne had a moustache just like in that TNTL, Courtney themselves gave the prompt "People at a Wedding" for her round and I think Damien would def take the chance to do a proposal bit if his friends had recently gotten engaged; that was basically an inside joke
Look at that exact moment after Shayne says "yes". He is looking around in the room wondering where this bit is supposed to go. As if he thinks "Crew, wtf is going on? Who did allow him to do this? This was not supposed to go public until we had decided on it!" But then he realises it's a bit.
I think the funniest thing is how much Shayne made fun of the shippers and then they actually got married. I feel like at least half of this was before they were a serious couple but makes it harder to tell when
I think Courtney was dating Wahlid (Vine) and when Shayne talked about the time Anthony left, he was going through a break-up. I suppose through friendship and COVID they developed a relationship.
It’s insane to me that I am a 54 year old woman who never even heard of smosh a year ago, and I have spent the morning crying over the wholesomest love story I’ve ever seen, with two internet strangers that I love wholeheartedly
I’m 53 years old and bonded with my boys watching early Smosh. I just couldn’t watch anything with the cast until Anthony returned. Now I’m laughing so hard and catching up with all of these guys! So happy for Shayne and Courtney!!!
I just love how much Shayne remembers about Courtney. He remembers almost every detail of her, down to the meaning of each tattoos. This warms my heart
Out of the cast, the only one who (in retrospect) made accidental hints/nods through their behaviour to marriage related stuff was Amanda and I love that sm for her she tried so hard but she was so excited for them it peeks out a bit
@@blakewhite3131 fr every time something wedding related was mentioned she always had curious reactions and while ofc they were only obvious in hindsight its still funny and cute
it’s crazy watching these back because it feels so obvious. i’m so glad they kept it under wraps and the wedding announcement was awesome. i am so insanely happy for them 😭😭😭
Their relationship is a sitcom. Same callback. Both were dating when they just joined but broke up. Got closer. Always talked about their shitty lovelife. Denied years of allegations and only to get married. Sorry Jackie.
@@brittmariemaysa channel called department of wierd sounds have their moments from those streams. I think the actual full streams are gone or behind a paywall
i initially clicked for haha memes they're married april fools so funny but seeing how much they know each other, and work well together, and seeing shayne respect the she/they pronouns, has me genuinely a little emotional (im not projecting YOU'RE PROJECTING)
I've said this on another video, but I seriously hope Damien became an ordained minister just so he could pull that one bit while officiating the real wedding.
16:23 holy shit i always thought courtney played along great with the bit, getting "mock" offended but with the context thats fucking gold, damien was making a lasagna of a joke
I love how they, the editing and the rest of the people at Smosh managed to handle the shipping in such a balanced way that when the announcement was made I was cleanly 50/50 split on whether it was real or not.
Ngl, my girlfriend and I broke up a couple weeks ago, and ever since I’ve been struggling to figure out what kind of relationship I want going forward. I started to drift into the realm of flings, hookups, short-term, etc. kinda resigned myself to never commit to anything. but after watching this video, and this clip specifically, it made me realize that I want something more.
The thing that blows my mind is that not only was the announcement on Instagram that they are together but that they are actually MARRIED. Like, we skipped 9 chapters and arrived at the epilogue of the book. THEY WENT FROM FRIENDS TO SPOUSES.
kinda off-topic but the relationship episode with Chance got me rethinking a lot about love and friendship. such a good episode. Love when they get more serious
pls do a compilation of them comforting each other, and they have a voice they only do to each other soft/ baby voice 😭 being protective? Courtney cleaning his face? I NEED ITTTT
after Court massaged his shoulder for a second in the FNAF 4 video??😭 i always noticed Courtney but when Shayne looked back at them so sweetly in that video i was SOBBING
With the audio, this made me actually tear up. I watched smash a lot in my childhood (since Defy) and I probably have some sort of par asocial relationship with Shayne+Courtney because of that but it's just so awesome and I'm so happy for both of them :)
it's so amazing to me how the entire fucking company was ale to keep this as a secret until the very last moment, i'm still having trouble seeing them as a couple and taking it all in
they are so professional like keepping it so lowkey to the point u fooled the entire internet is crazy esp when u are best friends, shipped so much and have been dating for so long. i shipped them but i use to think they didnt like being shipped so i never truly believed it to the point i was so shocked they are such a wholesome couple im so happy fpr them that they dont have to hide it anymore
Hearing Shayne and others using Courtney's they/them pronouns as well makes me so happy. I know people think its easier to default to the binary pronouns, but its actually so simple to say they/them, and it fills my nonbinary heart with joy.
8:55 might actually be the best one. the genuine panic on her face for a split second when she realized was adorable. It's just so instinctual to look at the ring😭
Me to the hardcore shippers (The really, really conspiratorial ones) after 4/1: "I was wrong about you Senator, you're not cringe... You're just fucking parasocial and intrusive!"
@@northwindkey yeah I should put the caveat on my comment that it's still weird to be this involved in other people's lives, but I got to hand it to them, they were right.
I respect them so much for this dude… them keeping their privacy for themselves❤ it’d be cool if they’d say when they started dating or how that made them feel and stuff, but it’s for them to decide of opening up about it❤❤❤ I love them so much❤❤❤
🥺🥺🥺🥺😭😭😭😭 This hits me in the feels. I never was a Shourtney shipper bc it always felt weird to me to ship real life people, esp two who I love and respect so much, but omg I'm so happy for them. They're literally perfect for each other. The little goggle moment had me tearing up.
After hearing them genuinely talk about friendships and relationships over the years, all the deeper nuanced factors and stuff. Im just so happy for them 😭😭
The glances they gave each other was a give away. I just started watching Smosh around Valentine’s Day. And the first video I watched of Shayne and Courtney I guessed that they were (lol) Smoshing then. The cute glances. Anytime Courtney looked at her ring when they talked about dating or engagement or weddings. She would give a quick glance at her ring or Shayne gave her a quick glance, then quickly looked away. Just like a couple of teenagers dating, and not wanting their parents or friends to know yet. I’m happy for them and that they are finally married. I just hope they FINALLY drop the we’re not together charade. No I don’t want to see them making out all the time. But it would be really nice for the fans. If they made one video where they sat down and kinda talked about their relationship. And talk about how they want things to go in videos. They don’t need to act like newlyweds and stay connected at the lips. But they should at least stop ignoring the fact that they are together.
For real, its going to be cheesy but shayne has made me utterly wish to be a better human being and courtney has made me appreciate quirky fun and a childlike enjoyment for life. I am so happy to see them together and I truly wish to work on myself to hopefully find a partner that brings me as much joy as these together did. Just so happy to see them together. Mr and Misses Courtney Miller
One thing I noticed is that multiple times in here Courtney will be moving her hair behind her ear multiple times almost like a reflex towards Shayne in a good way. Almost like how some people will twirl their hair when talking to someone they have a crush on.
One of the things in her thing on the Courtney's list of things Amanda and shayne read off was that she drifts to the left cause she likes things on her left. On screen shayne was right but it was on HER LEFT
What’s in the bowl that she eats all of? Been scouring through the comments to see if anyone had mentioned it, but no luck, and I have no idea what video that is from.
@@Crunchatize_Me_Senpai if I recall correctly they are joke jelly beans similar to the ones you see in Harry Potter. Half of them have nice flavours the other intentionally terrible flavours. Usually used for 50 50 party games.
