Specter Knight is a fucking legend. Shovel Knight was willing to go through an adventure to save his love one. Plague Knight accepted that his love for Mona was more important than power. But Specter Knight was willing to sacrifice his life for a boy he accepted as family. God bless this tragic hero. Such a noble act.
Honestly though, I unironically freaked out when I learned that Dark Acolyte was the first village's Troupple Acolyte. In retrospect though, it should have been a lot more obvious...
The part that hit me the hardest is definitely the very last line of text: ,,I would lay down my life to save Reize's,, since he actually does that.Sweet Jesus my heart shattered.
Actually,i don't want to say or anything, but plague knight may not be your favorite or the most badass but he is probably the strongest of the knights....
And then the locket was stolen by Plague Knight, that traded it to Chester, that sold it to Shovel Knight... well if anything it is in good hands now, maybe Specter could simply ask to Shovel to give him back the locket in future. Yacht Club told that a PROPER sequel for Shovel Knight is VERY likely to happen.
Maybe King Knight can do some good in his campaign, once he learns how to be a TRUE King. He could ask Shovel and Shield to give the locket to him, and he could give the locket to Specter, and dedicate a memorial to Luan.
YoshiAngemon What I think the plot of King Knight's game will be is that while cleaning pridemoor keep, he discovers an ancient relic. It awakens, and immediately starts playing with king Knight's ego. It promises him full power and rightful rule of the land, leading him on an adventure. The closer they get to the final level, the more we see the relic's true personality shine through. He grows more and more evil, his compliments sounding more and more hollow with each level. When King knight reachers the final level, the relic betrays him and takes the power for itself. King Knight fights the relic, and barely manages to win. His battle over, he returns to pridemoor no longer wishing for power, rather he wants a life of peace. The game ends with King Knight approaching Shield Knight and Shovel Knight, and asks them for tips about farming. As the credits roll, we see him going through each of the levels apologizing to those he wronged. He gives Donovan back his locket. He sets up a date between Mona and PK. He donates a large sum of his gold to TK. With mole knight, we see him helping out with excavations. Tinker Knight receives help from King Knight with construction of something big. As for the others, I'm not sure. It would be nice to see how Mr. Hat or Phantom Striker interact with him, similar to Baz in PoS and Reize in SoT.
You have to give credit to these guys. They could ve just half assed all the DLC they promised. But instead they give free DLC that is pretty much another new game. Kudos
Burgundy Bandit Of course we do. A tragic hero forced to pay for one mistake. His life is effectively ruined. We better see a happy ending for him in King Knight's game.
rip Phase Locket then gets stolen by Plague Knight, who gives it to Chester, who gives it to Shovel Knight (who may actually use it in his fight against Spectre Knight) lol
Seeing the Phantom Striker desperately trying to save those villagers only to be forced by the Super Skeleton gives me chills. It shows a true hero, and makes me want to play a game about him. And seeing the heroes of the Armor Outpost failing to hold back the onslaught and save people creates a truly incredible experience, at least for me. I wish more games would do this, create a prequel about the villain and see how our heroes desperately try to stop them.
yeah the Phantom Striker is a great charakter, he just wants to keep everything under control and do his job. I also love that classy fencing style he has xD
Swagron He was forced to. The dead took over his town, and he had no choice but to run or die. So now he wanders, hoping to find a hero strong enough to beat him and defeat the enchantress.
What if Phantom Striker is Luan? I mean there's close to no evidence, but both him and Specter Knight are supposed to be undead, aren't they? Also notice how Donovan wore blue and Luan wore red. Now Specter Knight wears red and Phantom Striker wears blue. COINCIDENCE? PROBABLY! BUT I DON'T CARE!
Mr. Bern Maybe they'd make him a young man? Maybe a parent figure to shovel knight? Teaching him the ways of shovelry as a kid? Always seemed like they had something anyways.
Mr. Bern Well it was easier for Specter Knight. They just had to shrink his cloak. Polar Knight, however, can't really be shrunk without looking awkward. His hulking figure is one of his most memorable features.
mmrguerra2009 I'm hoping he ends up being the villain, or at least a rival to King Knight. After all, King Knight does have one glorious, and possibly powerful, hat (even if it isn't made of real gold).
+xXAznSavageXx Specter Knight shouldn't have been stupid enough to leave it in a chest knowing that adventurers would gladly loot them. I mean, he must have known since he's looted quite a lot of chests on his recruitment adventure.
I'm not going to lie, I didn't know you could hold down forward to move faster against Reize. I was litterally trying to cheese the boss with items. (Mainly the Coin, because it doesn't do anything in the fight, but doesn't cost darkness either, so you essentially hover in air for like half a second and if you spam it at the right pace, you can hover indefinitely and avoid all attacks) It took my the good part of an hour to figure it out after I finally broke down and decided to Google it!! Lol
wish the final boss was tad harder with 2 stages (grinding rails + regular) with cheap, heavy hitting attacks. But then again, the enchantress did plan this out so Specter Knight wastes the locket revive, so Reize's weakness kinda makes sense story wise;)
I'm watching this after having beaten the game. I just thought I would thank you for not putting the final bos in the thumbnail so people won't get it spoiled. Not enough people do that. Kudos :)
A lot of Kickstarter games had tiers for backer guest characters. Shovel Knight is, to my knowledge, the only one to make one of those plot-important. I loved this campaign so much, it really showed how much YC cares about both the game and their fans.
Loved the expansion to bits, but I do feel like a little epilogue fighting Shovel Knight to set up the main game would've been a nice final boss fight, cause the Reize fight was easy as fuck for a final boss. No, seriously, imagine if right after the curtain call, but before the credits, you had a scuffle with Shovel Knight. Give him a cameo. It makes sense, and it sets up the main game perfectly, since Specter Knight is the first Order boss you can fight. Besides that, great game overall. The amount of stuff they added made Plague of Shadows look like Atari Pacman. The new gameplay mechanics were very fun (though I still think Plague of Shadows had the best mechanics yet), and the new music, level placement, everything. It was great. Less extra content, but it's not a problem, for an expansion it's already more than I could ask for. The best part is the story, because despite how good its characters were, Plague of Shadows' story was pretty goddamn bad. This one actually played it very subtly, it didn't waste your time, it was well paced, it kept itself simple, the characters had memorable, understandable story arcs and the execution was overall very good. I think spelling out the fact that Reize is Luan's kid was a bit much, maybe leave that to the audience from the context clues, but the sad ending really did tie together the whole experience. Better than Plague of Shadows for me. 8,5/10. Can't fucking wait for King's campaing.
I haven't played the game(SOT). But I understand about the Phase Locket now. Why would Plague Knight stole it and trade it to Chester for a healing potion(forgot the name. But it heals you if you attack enemies) and then Chester gave it to Shovel Knight for 1000(or was it 3500?)?
Because no one else knows about the tragic significance of that locket. Plague Knight just saw a trinket he could swap with Chester and Chester saw a trinket he could sell to Shovel Knight.
And as a nice little trick, if you upgrade the spider scythe curio and throw it on the ground while she's under it, it damages her too, its a very nice trick! I would have taken AGES in my New Game + had I not discovered that!
Jonathan Rojas The enchantress can be beaten pretty easily with the barrier shield, and dodging. the barrier shield actually catches almost all of her projectiles, and damages her if she gets too close. The upgraded version just knocks her over and beats her ass like a drum, at least for me. i got lucky with rng i guess.
I wish I could play as polar knight! Traveling the open seas with my crew would be awesome, maybe shovel knight could be the cabin boy, I dont know, Yacht club could make it work.
They should make a secret ending in which they show what happens after shovel knight defeats the enchantress(Or shield knight(Spoilers.)) and what he says to Reize. (Also the ending in which he was juggling potions does not count.)
At 7:02 when he breaks the glass the song that plays its full of sorrow but triumph because specter knight did what he knew was right what is the song called by the way
Terrapin died? Judging for the "Tending to the wounded" And "Reunion" cutscene in PoS, Polar Knight might talked to Black Night, and told him that Terrapin died. (Or maybe I'm overthinking everything)
poor Specter Knight. man did he suffer the most out of them all. . I would love to see Specter Knight break from his will with enchrassess after and aid Shovel knight and Black night in the future game
If this series runs for a long time, I believe that the Remnant Of Fate will be the 'Sigma' of the Shovel Knight series. What we really need now, is an origin story for the Amulet. It seems the Amulet itself is inspired by Zelda's Majora's Mask, a cursed object which possesses its victims.
0秒钟前 10:31 spectrer knight is only one who didn't kneel in the eight knights… a true and tragic hero like Godot, who sacrificed himself into the darkness to keep that promise.
so since this dlc took place before the event of shovel knight and the plaque knight dlc took place during is it likley to assume that the knight dlc will take place shortly after the event of shovel knights quest?
+Chase 64 I really hope it does, and i also really hope we don't have to fight the order of no quarter. At the end of shovel knight we see that since the OFNQ don't need to obey the enchantress they aren't necessarely ''evil'' anymore. So i hope for different bosses,as well as seeing how life of the caracthers have been after SK
I wish you used the regular costume tho 😢 Idk why I’m complaining u mean I already complete the game myself, I have all 4 Campaigns because I got the Treasure Trove version on my Switch and I 100% all of them (the 3 that are out I’m gonna play King Of Cards on day 1, and finish it 100% like a month later because it takes me forever) I’m in the process of completing all the Challenges but god are those hard
Where in the blue fuck is Specter Knight's secret room. There's an achievement to get if but i don't know if they mean the secret room is in the lich yard since that's technically his level, or the Tower of fate since that technically is his home
Like, it’s surprising what they do with the Kickstarter characters. Like, in the base game, their just one and done boss fights. But in Plague of Shadows, you can take on Baz as an apprentice, in King of Cards, Mr. Hat is the Color shopkeeper, and in Specter of Torment, Reize is a plot essential character! Like, they had no right to do any of that, but they did, and the game is better for it!
Gonna throw out my prediction for the King Knight campaign: It takes place immediately after the events of Shovel Knight and focuses on King Knight trying to become a king again. Much hilarity ensues as the decadent dandy continuously fails in his quest.
I hope do campaign of all characters, specially I hope Polar, Black, King, Propeller and Tinker knights XD I really want a history of all that characters
I am so pissed on that game right now. Constantly freezes on the final boss after I won. Redownload, Reboot tested. Do you have any idea or noticed any issues?
Thanks for the reply. Tried it but didn't work. I am playing the game in german and since you played it in english I now changed the language to english and it worked. Weird Translation issue or something I think. Anyways great game :)
Looks like there's also a hint of Plague of Shadows thrown in, and the bubbling relationship between Plague Knight and Mona. I still like Plague Knight's ending the best. If a model of Maria Robotnik were made for SFM and GMOD, I would have her appear as a ghost, waltzing with Shadow, in the same way.
Nii Kojo Shovel Knight's begins and the end of Specter. Pleague happens during Shovel There is a Super Smash Bros. inspired mode coming to Shovel Knight at the same time as King Knight's Campaign!
If Shovel Knight ever gets a sequel with a Specter Knight DLC... I think it would be nice to see a little of a redemption story? Maybe find out Luan is not truly dead?
okay, but cAN WE JUST TALK ABOUT PLAGUE KNIGHT REAL QUICK Also, if anyone has a friend who doesn't play Shovel Knight, skip to 2:31, pause it, and see what they come up with as an explanation xD
No boss rush? only one form? Man, specter knight mode is fun but that was so dissappointing. It felt they had run out of steam by the end of the game....
The only thing I didn't like about this ending was the montage of all the knights. Specifically the part where they get to Propeller Knight launching the fleet... ... and the melody playing is from TINKER KNIGHT'S STAAAGE HRRRRGH IT'S THE WRONG MELODYYYYY!!!
