My dog is a female Lhasa at 6 months right now, she’s fluffy but her hair isn’t this long, hopefully by next year we can get her to get show level groomed! :)
So annoying these people who show the grooming process and want us to watch, but can’t spare a little time to answer peoples questions , so damn rude ,they don’t deserve viewers at all
may I ask how much heat safe for their hair? and what kind of spray did you use? is it a heat protection spray? I will let my shih tzu join a show next week
Hi, can you assess me with my shih tzu. She came from a very good line, not really for show though, i just want to hear a professional opinion of her. Thanks.
Thanks for replying. But youtube does not let people message each other anymore, how can i send her photos to you? Btw, do you also have a video on how to trim them for hygiene especially for females, mine is about 8 months. And im really having a hard time keeping her back area clean from urine stains (actually it is already stained yellow :( )
you start with a show dog that is the pick of the litter and you feed them a homemade diet of high quality meats and entrails. a typical pet will not have hair that grows that long, or they will feed the pet a dog food diet and the dog will have poor quality hair. dogs need high quality meats, cheeses, eggs, bone broths, entrails. my dogs live to 20 on a home made diet.their hair grows just to the floor but not longer.
@@permani5536 that's great. mine were always sick on that, so I switched to homemade. no more vet bills and they all live to 20. whatever works for you. vets are expensive. but how was the taste? did you ever taste it? i would never give a cat or dog something I won't eat myself. and too many pets die from adulterated pet food, and that's a concern for me too. but you have to do what works best for you and your pet. I suggest you get a pet psychic reading on your dogs and cats and see if they like how commercial pet food tastes. for most, it's like potato chips.
Where do u do?? Even I also wanted to trim my shitzu's hair coz hair is full of lumbs so shud I trim all the hair or wht hair style shud I make Where do u do so that I will also come to u can pls reply me
beautiful. that's how I groom my shih tzu's. no shaving ever. just a trim around the butt and the paw pads. I comb, wash, comb, trim once a week or so. I don't understand people that shave their shih tzu's and pekingese. they are so pretty with long hair.
JoAnne Denison My mom has to shave my shih tzu because of the hot weather and doesn't want my dog to sweat but in the winter he can grow it out i wish my dog has long hair again 😩😢😒
@@emilysfabulousshow9530 if you have AC the dog should be fine. also, dogs don't sweat, they have no sweat glands, they pant instead. if you live down south and your dog is panting a lot, he needs to be shaved down to an inch. sorry about that. but if he's in the AC, he should be fine, just brush him a lot to remove the undercoat during the summer. a shih tzu is really a northern type dog and they're good to go in very cold weather. I hate to see shih tzu's shaved too, but in the south, esp. without AC you probably have to.
Do you ever play outside with your dog? Out in the mud? Go hike with it? In the water? Go to the park and just let it run wild? To the beach? I will highly doubt you do. Highly doubt the owner of this dog does as well. This hair will not last 10 minutes in any of those settings without getting matted, tangled, or get something severely stuck in it. Why put my dogs through the pain and aggravation of trying to detangle a knot or try to comb out a matted area. My shih tzu likes to dig and go off trail, more often then not something will get stuck in that hair. Mind you I brush her almost everyday to make sure something is not hidden in there but still. Dogs aren't just meant to be looked at, ...unless its the pom, literally what they were bred for
@@ilive4anime. sorry, my shih tzu has heart disease and coughs all the time, so no more of that. vet said bed rest and short walks. I wish my shih tzu could do all of that again. and yes, I do it with long hair on my dog and use an organic coconut cream rinse that works great. ever hear of a matt comb? those work great. I have a Pekingese and she's more of a princess and never gets really dirty. she also doesn't bark or beg. never seen a dog like her. polite, well mannered, never gets dirty (or only bits of dirty). go figure.
@@ilive4anime. I have a huge back yard. no need for the park (tho we do walk around it). but alas my shih tzu has heart disease and is on bed rest and short walks. he coughs all the time. poor baby, please pray for him.
how do you describe the haircut? how long is the hair on his feet and belly? i'm 75% done growing out my dogs hair and i'm not sure what kind of haircut to ask for.
Hello ! More often than not, I cut my dog’s skirt before the show. Also cut my paws and chest. I do hygienic haircuts once every 1.5-2 months. You can watch my other videos. There is everything.
I have a shih tzu too but he hates it when it comes to hair brushing. So we need groom his hair every two months so it can’t get too long and tangled and make his little ass uncomfortable.
Doing a little at a time is a good way to start. Brush the tail, then doing other things, for instance. I include a lot of petting with the brushing, sometimes running my fingers through the hair like a comb. They need to get used to it. I also hold and cuddle a lot while grooming.
@@wrrnjgrn7019 It is necessary to use hair masks and conditioner. They must restore the hair structure and fade! I do not dry the hair of dogs with a hair dryer. Hair dryer I use only for showrooming. When the weekly procedure my dogs in the evening. At night, they dry themselves without a hairdryer. In the morning I comb them and make papilotki.
