This was my favorite song too. I can't believe Paul died. It seems like only yesterday, I first started watching S club 7 and fell in love with their song and their tv series. Paul had a lot of funny moments on the show. I remember him saying: "There's a guy outside trying to commit suicide with a cocktail umbrella, we should be done for murder!" That was from Miami 7's episode, Howard's Hotel. By the time they did Hollywood 7, he had gone cuter.
It makes me sad to acknowledge that this was over 20 years ago. 😭 Where does time go? I feel like it was just yesterday that I was a kid and watching S Club 7, and now I’m an adult with responsibilities lol. Time passing is weird.
This last line, how Rachel no longer sings but almost speaks, how and what she says made me speechless even then and manages to do it again so many years later.
I had such a crush on Rachel at the time. I listened to this song and wished it was about me, yeah I had that crush. Nowadays I have a signed photo with a dedication from her on the wall and I like to think back to the time in our S Club Fan Club, my girlfriend at the time, who I met through it and I'm glad that I experienced it that way.

Fun fact: The song was planned as the 2nd single from "Sunshine" (2001). Plans were scrapped and "Have You Ever" became the 2nd single off of the album because of "Children In Need" and the label was hoping for a potential Christmas-No.1-single in the charts.
Actually You was supposed to be the second single (the band didn't want to release it at all because they felt the album had more songs which showcased their musical growth and felt like You was a step backwards, however were overruled by management) and the video was shot immediately after Don't Stop Movin' but plans were put on hold as management decided to, at the last minute, release Have You Ever to coincide with Children In Need and the video had to be shot at the last minute the day before they flew home after filming the Hollywood 7 series. Show Me Your Colours was supposed to be released as the third single after You (pushed back to fourth due to Have You Ever) but was ultimately scrapped once Paul announced his departure. Videos for this and Summertime Feeling were supposedly shot during the filming of Hollywood 7 indicating the latter was also to be a single at some stage. Remixes of Stronger were also sent to DJ's and radios hinting it would be a single too but that was scrapped due to Paul leaving.
@@aussieapril this is also interesting. You definitely felt a little regressive and cheesy, even cheesier than Bring It All Back (which is a Top 5 S Club 7 track for me). I guess management didn't want them to alienate the young fanbase they had attained from songs like that but I side with the band on that one. You shouldn't have been released. They should've been able to continue on their path of musical evolution. They were starting to find their sweet spot with the moody mid-tempos like Show Me Your Colors and funky up-tempos like Don't Stop Moving.
@@CiaraContent as much as I do love You, I completely agree. Show Me Your Colours was this album's 'Natural' (which un-ironically is my favourite S Club 7 single). We needed a Rachel-lead RnB mid-tempo number from each album as a single!! Another missed opportunity was actually the Tina solo's. "I'll Be There" and "Stronger" are some of the best songs in their entire discography!!
