Show People With Paul Wontorek Interview: Six-Time Tony Winner Audra McDonald 

It was one of the few times I spent full price on a Broadway ticket, AND I paid extra to sit at those tables in the middle. Before the show, the stage manager showed me the matches on the table and said that sometimes Audra asks to light her cigarette. My heart jumped. There were matches at the table across from mine too though. Audra, as Miss Lady Day, did come to ME during the show and asked me to light her cigarette! I was shaking and the first match went out. "She" cursed at me and the second time, I got it lit! After the show, she remembered me and I got great pics with her. Needless to say, YEARS later, it's still a highlight of my life!!!

I absolutely adore her!!! She deserves every award!

the fact that she remains so humble and modest and down to earth is exactly why she is the indisputable queen of broadway. she is everything and more. i mean, how can you not be madly in love with this woman.

I keep replaying 7:58-8:04 and 8:50-8:53. I saw the show and it really shows what an amazing actress she is and shows her singing abilities because of the control she has over her voice to sound completely different than her real voice. I loved the show but as she said it is not a show for kids. It has adult language and deals with adult issues and kids will not understand that much of the humor as well. It was an excellent show and I recommend it to people.

2:25 the pride on the faces of her daughter and husband is so heartwarming

Not only will she win another Tony but she will win a few more. And it won't take too long I'm guessing.

And how she gets 🔥y when she says her hubby's just 2 years younger "just 2!". SHE IS SO FUN TO LISTEN TO!!.

Why does BWW have the absolute worst interviewers and host? Omg. Those dude is awful. Thank God Audry is so amazing.

I hate this guy. So much. What an absolute terrible interviewer. He made her feel so uncomfortable so many times. And he didn't actually ask any real questions. He just was mean and trying to fill time. Audrey handled it so well.
