I didn't detect pretentiousness or rudeness at all... I thought this was a great interview and he comes off honest, candid and charming honestly...

This is a great interview with John Lloyd Young. He is so great in every aspect of the word. He did a great job on the movie, The Jersey Boys.

Great interviewer and interview subject! I felt as though I were sitting in a living room listening to a well balanced, normal conversation. I honestly don't believe there is ANY rudeness or irritation on Mr. Young's part. He's simply carrying out a conversation in his normal tone of voice. Again, nice interview, I loved it!

Haha! John is such a cutie. Both personality and physically. "Buy these mugs" "we don't sell them.." "demand that they sell them" lol!!

Such a talented man, and one of the sweetest and down-to-earth persons I've ever met. He does have a great sense of humor too. Love this man!

This is not awkward at all. This is John. He is the most talented, interesting, fascinating, sweet individuals you will ever meet.

John Lloyd Young... most interesting interviewee... Makes for even more interesting character study.

Torn about this interview. On one hand, I did not expect John to be one serious individual. When he attempts to be funny, its either hit or miss, which I can definitely relate lol. But to be fair, the interviewer could have done a better job of humoring and following up John's responses.

"I bastardized it" (lol) that was funny.

JLY is not rude in this interview, and he's not irritated.

JLY is a bad ass with a brown belt... So glad I got my cd of My Turn for Christmas, all the songs are amazing!!!

They're both just so goddamn awkward lol. God bless 'em both, but...yeesh.

He isn't afraid of being mugged. He was showing Paul how to avoid being mugged. John is a wonderful guy with a great, if odd at times, sense of humor.

If this was awkward it's because Wontorek is easily the worst interviewer I've ever seen. It was up to John Lloyd to keep the interview going. I've seen him perform and have met him at least 20 times and he is neither pretentious nor rude. He is a supremely talented and engaging entertainer who is gracious and kind to his fans.

Wise beyond your years John Lloyd Young. Fresh and wonderful interview.

Awkward one is the interviewer. His speed of thinking is slower than John.

He sounds so smart but also sad near the end when you realize he can't get work on stage since he's seen as just a Jersey Boy. That industry sucks if they can't see his talent.

Loved this interview! JLY looks like he is having a great time back in JB, and I have seen the show twice this summer he's better than ever! His new CD is just wonderful to listen to and so happy he finally recorded one, and can't wait for more. Welcome back to NYC and I will be back soon to see JB!

Ah..I'm in love with John Lloyd Young since recently seeing "Jersey Boys", the movie. As for comments that he's rude or pretentious, I get why that may seem so. He's *very* confident, very forthright, and rather serious.. and that may give the impression of pretentiousness or condensention... but I think the real problem may be that there is *zero* chemistry between John and the interviewer, which makes the whole interview come off extremely awkward. 😣 I think John was fighting hard to keep it engaging and interesting and to connect with the interviewer, but it just wasn't happening. Sigh.. 🙁

He is sooo gay. He bedazzles food containers. I still love him. I love him like I love Clay Aiken. Is he coming back for the 10th Anniversary of Jersey Boys this fall? I wish he would play 54 Below.

Oh man, was JLY always this awkward?! It's not even like endearing, he comes off so pretentious. I had the hugest crush on JLY when I was in college and I can't remember why after watching this. Paul Wontorek, you did a good job interviewing and listening (tolerating) him though, *thumbs up*.

I felt so sorry for Paul, so awkward :/
