Brent, with these 8th gen civics be careful with the 4 port solenoids. The ecu analog output signal is weak from factory so what alot of us guys do is install a PWM signal booster box to help aid the signal in order to control the solenoid properly. But once you have that booster, the 4 port works crazy good!
@@kongthao4742 Since they aren't produced anymore you would have to buy one second hand. Or have someone with one open it up and find out what's inside to recreate one.
Jamie is a badass. Brent is a tuning God! Between the two of you, you all can diagnose any problem and very rapidly I love watching you guys keep up the good work!
I love how you guys dont get mad when customers come to the dyno and their cars end up needing more than just tuning, and that you try to help educate them on the issues and how to fix them.
Beautiful Car! Most of the time Brent makes it look so easy to tune. But like this one, it takes experience over years to diagnose different things to get it where it is supposed to be. Nice to have others to bounce ideas off of. And Jamey is right there with a suggestion and a solution to help Brent get it done. Jamey is a great tuner on his own as well. What a team at PFI!
at 8:37/8:38 you can see something flys loose from the fuel pressure reg area. and it looks like a vacuum line under the turbo moves alil at the same time. looks to me like a vac line blew off back there somewhere
@ Wastegate bolt. The scared look on Jimmy's face, when they mentioned the wastegate, has me suspecting it wasn't fully assembled, just mocked up on there and forgotten about.
When you asked if it's on bags I was hoping yall would show a clip of it being lowed and yall killed it with clip at the end!! Love PFI videos you guys always rock it!
Good video guys. This is what makes your channel great,it's about Brets ability and willingness to teach what it going on with the build and how different components affect the production of power. And yes this is techy nerd stuff to some people, but that's because they don't understand cars or are in it just for bragging rights. This owner appears to be a earnest STUDENT,he wants to learn from THE BEST>..I took auto classes in college,30 years ago, straight A's ,all the while i was working at a shop. i wanted to learn WHY things worked, they had blowers back then not turbo's,the physics behind all this is what's interesting. BRET is THE PROFESSOR.
Brent, Jamie im from the uk and well it will cost me an arm and a leg to ever come see you guys at a meet. That being said i will make it over the pond and come see you guys one day. You guys make me smile on a daily basis. Your the best, keep it real and i look forward to the day i can shake your hands 😊
FINALLY!! A Japanese car that ISN'T excessively slammed to the ground with the wheel camber kicked out 22.5 degrees. I like this Civic. A LOT! Respect! 👍
Haven’t even seen it run on the dyno yet, and I just had to come to the comment section to say that this car is really badass!! I love nice and clean builds just as much as full blown race cars.
Love the vids. Keep up the great work and builds. In a constructive criticism way, can you guys implement small safety checks. I always get worried when the dyno sauce is sprayed, especially when they are filming as well. There's got to be a safer way to do it. I would hate to hear someone getting hurt.
I've been thinking the same thing recently. Yesterday I was researching dyno roller coatings to see if there was anything I could buy and send them, hah. Unfortunately most services you have to take the rollers out.
Dam jimmy u sir have a beautiful lil street car / show stopper their my Dude nice job on the build looks like alot of work their...pfi nice job as always...🤘 that turbo tho dammmm
Just because the gopro is there doesn't mean they are reviewing footage at that current time. If they had a better base spring in the wastegate they would have seen the afr go lean
Hi guys I’m thinking of converting the BMW Mini to a Turbo V-TEC maybe AWD as I was going to do the same to the Classic Mini but at high motorway speeds they get a bit twitchy so I’m off to my mates breaker yard to see what he has. Brilliant video by the way thanks for sharing as I’m learning all there is about the V-TEC boosted Cheers SCOOBS UK.
Watching that fuel pressure gauge is scary when it’s up in the high rpm range like that. This car is definitely not my style, but I definitely appreciate the cleanliness of the build. I love watching Brent and Jamie figure stuff out
Same here. And yeah I wouldn't build that car that way but I certainly wouldn't mind being seen in it either. It's a really clean build and it makes power. I can't hate that.
@@AdamsWorld84 no my dude, less load on the engine you'd see max fuel regulated pressure because the duty cycle and pw on the injectors won't be as high. That car was running out of fuel fast. Could be a fuel regulator losing its boost reference or the fuel pump isn't able to keep up
Probs what they did and still messed it up 😂 just saying a nice little how to video would benefit the viewers and tuners across the world from people turning up with it connected wrong 👍 plus it’s new PFI content so that’s another win 👍
@@Shadow0fd3ath24 so your telling me plugging the driver's side buckle in the driver's side recepticle won't work but plugging the passenger side buckle into the driver's side will...
I miss my 2015 Si. I love my 18 Si but loved the high revving engines. I’ll grab another one eventually. It would drive me nuts having all these people walking around the dyno. People are paying attention to there phones and not looking where they are walking. End up getting sucked into a front tire haha
