Show & Tell - Ruger Speed Six .357 Magnum 

Little bigger frame than an SP. Little smaller frame than a GP. It’s the perfect revolver in my book

Just picked up a speed six and i have to say its a joy to shoot ive shot my share of revolvers and unlike the rest i didnt want to put this thing down. Im not gonna say its a must have but for the price its a solid firearm and im very glad i purchased it.

I own one. Dad gave it to when I turned 30! I have carried almost daily. Im 63 now. Stocks are worn, its scratched up, dirty. Its SS and I trust my life with it. It fits perfectly in my levis. This is a HANDGUN.

I carry my Police Service 6 4” barrel in my self-made shoulder rig. It is extremely comfortable and not a nuisance at all. I changed to this gun from my Glock 19 for it’s better performance in the Wild West of Cape Town, South Africa - one of the cities in the world with the highest murder rate. I carry two Speedloaders on my strong side for reloads if needed. Love this SS version!

I bobbed the hammer put the factory wood grips and had a kydex outside the waist holster made. Beautiful carry gun. And very concealable with that holster

I have the Ruger Security Six in 6" barrel with regular wooden grips. I love shooting it its a great gun to shoot.

My favorite gun. It was much stronger than the competitors and Ruger since has stopped making guns that are superbly priced. (They've gotten GREEDY!) When they buried Bill Ruger, they buried his dedication to giving consumers guns for great prices. Ruger now thinks its guns should be as expensive as Smiths, though they're cheaper to produce. I have two of these guns in 3-inches and I'm going to be selling both soon (NOT!!). They're gonna be buried with me so no one will be glad I died. Well, maybe not. That would be a waste. If you can find one of these, buy it. They are great guns to have and will drop a black bear. Wonderful guns.

Nice video. I have a 2.75" stainless steel Ruger Speed Six (1985 production) just like yours with the exception of having a factory bobbed hammer; I'll be getting a spurred hammer on eBay soon. It also wears the shorter Pachmayr rubber grips like in your video which I find perfect for this revolver's mission. Although my EDC is a SIG SAUER P239 40 S&W, I would not hesitate to use my Speed Six as my EDC with its 2 backup HKS MK3 speedoaders. I do plan on putting it into my carry rotation with the SIG and HK USP Compact 40. Thanks for posting, I'll subscribe to your RU-vid channel now.

I own a number of revolvers and pistols but for my home protection I will rely on my Ruger Speed Six. It will go bang every time your life is on the line and the .357 magnum will get the job done.

Pachmayr compac grips on my short barreled Speed Six. Fills the hand but not too big like the Hogue grips

This model was used by the Royal Ulster Constabulary the Northern Ireland police force, I carried one for years as a duty weapon and had Pacmeyr rubber grips

I love my Speed Six!! Like a mini Redhawk and I wish I could get a fixed sighted Redhawk.

I was issued a stainless steel Speed-Six when I graduated from the Immigration Officer Academy in 1988. I turned it in when I was authorized to carry the Sig Sauer P220. Although heavy, the Ruger was a sturdy weapon.

great review. i've got the same gun except in 38. it's fun to shoot, but pretty much lives in the safe with the other 2 sixes. a great wheel gun for ccw is the taurus 605 carried appendix. you'll forget it's even there. small, dependable, accurate w/ 5 rds 357 hp. you can back it up w/ a small 9mm, or even 380 in the summer.

You don't even need a dime. The rim of a .38/.357mag cartridge works fine!

Badger boot grip is the best grip for this revolver. No more hand torture.

bought one this week for 360$ with a holster and a couple of speed strips included, side by side, it's about the same overall size as a full sized m&p9, but carrying it, the revolver seems a lot more comfortable.

Hey man, if you're still looking for a set of grips, I've got an original set of ruger grips that are a lot smaller than that hogue set. The left one has been bubba'd so a speed loader could be more easily used. If your interested let me know.

Bought one from a cop fried back ca 2009...can't seem to find good replacement wooden grips...have the Hogue but don't care for them...the stock grips are too small for me...also have the SP101

I just bought one. No safety? Being my first pistol it makes me nervous. Ill just go get my CPL before i walk around with it loaded so im more comfortable
