I'm so sorry to hear you were attacked and hurt like you were. I hope the person who hurt you was caught. I will pray for your healing and well-being, as well as your safety. Thank you for sharing yourself with us.
Well done! Keep talking to whoever you are talking to about your assault aftermath. I hesitate to call it PTSD but something like that can have a serious and sustained impact on your self-confidence. All the best for the new year!
There are different degrees of PTSD. Getting attacked and beaten is a trauma. It isn't weak to have had suffering after the fact. I don't care what it's called, things that happen to us can be lessened by talking to someone about it, or to just be with someone with whom you have shared a bad deal. I would want to kill someone who attacked me. I wouldn't, but I'd want to. >:-(
I have just come across your channel and i don’t usually comment on any videos on youtube but I have to say firstly, i’m sorry to hear about the assault which you suffered. Secondly, yours is the most relaxing and interesting bushcraft videos i’ve watched so far, and well done for speaking out for mens mental health, it’s an area which is often overlooked. I wish to begin bush crafting and your videos certainly help along the way!
Thanks so much Craig! Really glad you enjoyed it and also the channel! Thank you also for your kind words unfortunately the assault was a bit of bad luck but I'm feeling a lot better since and it motivated me even more to be open about mental health issues! I wish you the best of luck on your bushcraft journey! Always available on instagram if you want to message me for any tips etc!
Great video mate. Steak looked epic! Thanks for the nomination and kind words, I always enjoy your videos as well. I will do the challenge as soon as i can but it may be a month or two as im crazy busy for a bit after Christmas. Also great to see you well and out and about after the attack. Respect to you for bouncing back. Merry Christmas and all the best, Tom.
Nice to see you back Liam and terrible to hear of your assault and the subsequent operations. There are some real nutjobs out there which is a shame for the majority of normal everyday folk that go about their lives, looking forward to seeing your future videos and the plans you have with your Nissan ~Peace~
Good to see you back again, especially with the news at the end of your video. Good of your dad to get you a steak to cook and eat, for his birthday :-) Thanks for taking us along, and showing off the Osmo. Always another tempting shiny toy to consider isn't there!
I was waiting for the punchline to your attack story, and I'm really shocked to hear that this actually happened to you. I've had some bad experiences too and I have lived as a recluse for years now because of them, so I can empathise with you. The only time I don't feel panicky now is when I'm in the woods. I haven't started making videos yet, but some of the really nice people I talk to in the comments, have been encouraging me to do my own posts, I have quite a tale to tell and this 'show us your steak' thing has made me want to share my experiences more than ever. I got beat up pretty badly too and thrown in a niut ward, all for getting in an argument with the wrong guy. I would like to hear what happened to you, as I am sure the rest of your subbs would and what better place to hear the stories of our lives than around the campfire. The really cool RU-vid Bushcraft Community is such a great place and I think having this outlet and window into the lives of others who are similar and different to ourselves is unique and important. thanks for sharing man I really enjoyed what you have to say.
I'd love to see some of your videos, getting to know my subscribers is all important to me. Sorry for the bleated reply, unfortunately I'm only just recovering from another serious accident again! I hope you are doing a bit better now a year later? L
Great to see you out and about again Liam. Ok I've still not put any videos out since we met at the bushcraft show. Technology problems still. So planning on starting again next year. I hope that you recover mentally from the attack mate.
Thanks Craig! It's been a quiet year for the channel and many others but fingers crossed there'll be some more content coming very soon. Thanks for watching!
Always good to talk about things instead of just keeping them for ourselves! Sorry to hear about the assault. I love the Woodsman knife, one of my favourites, is the sheath the original sheath? Mine didn't come with a sheath like that.
Thanks for the kind comment! It's always good to talk about things definitely. The sheath is the TBS Leather Nordic Dangler Type Knife Sheath with Firesteel Loop from the Bushcraft store :)
Genuinely shocked to hear of the injuries you sustained due to an inexplicable assault. I am sure that your outdoor activities will help greatly with your recovery. Best wishes. Alan
Cracking video. Nice steak. Perfect message. Sorry to hear about the assault, you seem to have recovered physically well. I need to get out over Christmas.
ALWAYS take a basha sheet, just in case, after all this is England. Steak looked good but all that " seasoning " kills the natural flavour of the meat cooked on an open fire ! not good to hear about you getting badly assaulted by a COWARD and for no reason, society nowadays is full of COWARDS picking on innocent people for no reason, put a fighter in front of them and they would run, beat them up and they cry to the police, COWARDS, good to see your ok Liam, have a good Christmas and New year, atb, Paul.
Thanks Paul! I did have a tarp in my backpack but was hesitant to setup knowing that I wasnt out for long, Great and undervalued advice though! I'll make sure I get a non seasoned steak on film for you this year ;). Hope you had a great Xmas and New year also!
