In general, I wonder if it wouldn't be too hard within the economics of the basics line, for Matchbox to sharpen the door, hood, and trunk lines. They are so wide, that it really doesn't look very good. That one improvement would help a lot, I think. I like the yellow color for the Opel Astra. The AMC Eagle is probably the worst of this collection. Gloppy paint job and the front grill with the headlights all part of one ugly piece of plastic, really makes for low points of this one. And the faux wood on the side, which didn't even look good on the actual car, as I remember, looks even worse on this casting. I would never buy that one. To end on a positive note, the Mercedes 230 SL looks quite nice! Clean, and I agree with you that it looks right in white. It would look good next to my Hot Wheels, BMW 507 convertible, also in white.
