R.L.99 was one of the most talented musicians i had ever known, and also a very kind and easygoing person. i wish he could have known the full extent of how much his work inspired others. may you rest in peace
I think I'm shadowbanned from the comments, but I still want to put in my farewell wishes. R.L.99 was someone that, despite not me knowing them very well, was an absolute pleasure to talk to. They were extremely kind-hearted and had an absolutely insane work ethic to create some of the most ambitious rips on the channel. I hope you rest easy up there, friend.
Everyone's already talking about how good the music is, but major props to the visual artist for this. Seeing Mother 3 enemies drawn in this epic, almost painterly style is both hilarious and impressive.
@@corrinflakes9659 It's a reference to the final boss of Final Fantasy 6. A four part climb up a tower made by three tortured gods, and the bones of the enemies of the deranged man, now deity, who made it after destroying the world. Which is also where the song is from
@@tonberry2670 The reply above is basically what you just sounded like. My point is seeing Mother 3 characters in that renaissance style FF6 had for the final boss was unique.
The way this rip switches between the different styles of MOTHER 3's music is masterfully done, and the visuals are legitimately phenomenal, R.L. 99 did such wonderful work with the audio here R.L. was an insanely talented person, and despite the fact that I never knew him, his loss is tragic, knowing just how skilled he was Hope you're doing good in the afterlife, and Godspeed, R.L. ❤🌎
_"Terra, my precious daughter. You came from a love so strong that it brought two worlds together. That love is part of who you are, and it always will be."_ _"There are people in this world who still care about you. They need you, and you need them."_ _"Do you feel that warmth that's been buried inside of you, my child? That feeling is love. Remember how much your mother and I loved you, and remember the people you love, too."_ But this is true for everyone who watches this video and reads this comment, too - there are people in the world who love you, and that love is part of you, and I hope you can hold onto some of that love even when it's hard ♥
Given the likely reason they died, respect to SilvaGunner for that dialogue, because people need to remember that others love them, and there's reasons to keep going if not just family and friends... it's ultimately saddening that we couldn't help R.L.99 out of their darkest hour in time, but... we can still remind those who are still alive that people love and care about them, and can still help those who are still alive get out of their darkest hours whenever those times arise.
Feels so wrong reading someone's life dates whenever the date of birth is 200X, way too young to die At least he has left his mark in the rip community
My gosh the effort in turning Dancing Mad into a Motheresque song, the sprites, and just everything in general, is godly. The dialogue and ending pulled my heartstrings and left me tearful. May you live on in our hearts, RL99.
The amount of MOTHER 3 battle themes crammed into one rip makes this rip one of the best ones on the channel. The artstyle is beautiful as well, so much effort has been put into it. We will all miss you, RL. May you be happy in the afterlife.
This man literally ended up writing his own Requiem like Mozart. Rest in Peace to an absolute fucking god among men. I knew within seconds this was gonna be a top 3 rip, but told myself it couldn't be #1 unless he used Strong One (Masked Man) for that crazy part in Movement 4 (yall know the one). And the mad man actually did it. And that's all we could have ever asked from him.

While I don't know much about Mother 3 or even Final Fantasy, Mother 2 & 3 are one of those games that I need to try out some time soon, this rip is fantastic and a great send off to R.L, they died at a young age, and while I personally didn't know them at all they definitely have made some good rips. Rest in peace R.L.99...
I haven't played any final fantasy but Mother 3 is such a good game. Heck, my pfp is even from it And yeah, avoid the spoilers. There's some huge ones that will really ruin things if you hear them
I highly recommend Earthbound. The earlygame is a little janky, and the controls, when not patched, can take some getting used to, but the game itself is one of the few I’ve ever played that made me cry But it’s as the slogan for Mother 1 goes: “No crying until the end.”
R.L.99 made _all_ of this? There's so much stuff packed in here. Not to mention the accompanying artwork is incredible. I also looked in the playlist in the description of his works, and like a bunch of my all-time fav rips were in there. What a talented dude.
As the end of the video states, he only made the audio itself; the SiIvaGunner art team added the art as tribute. Similar to the “Parler Lake” rip that pays tribute to another former ripper.
The ending makes me cry every goddamn time. RL99 will feel all of the love that exists, because that is what holds communities like this together for now and forever. God bless you all for this project, Siivagunner.
@@YetAnotherSpyMain | He was a contributor to the channel and a good friend to the team. You can look up his channel on RU-vid, which has a playlist for all the rips he made.
looking back at this rip, i wish i could've left a comment sooner man's was two years younger than me, but he got one helluva talent on his hands. glad he was part of the siiva team even if it's only for a brief moment rest easy out there, lad
I can't even type out a long winded paragraph on how beautiful this is. I am at a loss for words. This is the rip that transcends it's status as merely a rip.
I only realize now the capsule represents the O in the game title. Also amazing rip silva, best way to say goodbye. My hat down to you RL 99, it's unfair you died so young and talented, like Sid Vicious did. I hope you can hear this melody wherever you are now.
All the enemy references in the video (That I could find): 0:17 Middle: Absolutely Safe Capsule 0:17 Top Left: Malboro 0:17 Top Middle: Peeper/Nu/Knotty (? None of these really fit the pinkish color scheme) 0:17 Top Middle, Bottom Left: Pigmask 0:17 Bottom Left: Rhinocerocket 0:17 Middle: Barrel Man 0:17 Middle: Porky's House 0:17 Bottom Middle: Desert Hare 0:17 Bottom Middle: Necromancer (or one of its palette swaps, none of them match particularly well) 0:17 Right: Cherry 0:17 Bottom Right: Pork Tank 0:17 Bottom Right: Negative Man (he's well-hidden) 4:08 Top Left: Tapir (? Just taming Mother 3's wild variety of music into four separate but connected pieces like Dancing Mad's movements this well would be enough for this to be an instant classic, but this goes way above and beyond. Thank you for putting this into the world, that we can experience it. Accelerando was a particular highlight. The improbably high quality art is also very very impressive, and that ending... Just that alone was worth the wait. It brings a wholly different vibe than Dancing Mad's normal Fourth Movement, really has that Mother 3 flavour in music, visuals, and story. Terra shaking off her mind control to save Claus is lovely. Dar I say, the last movement is more thematically appropriate here than in FFVI?
It's been one year since this incredible rip, and I still come back to listen to this. Seeing the views on this video increase each time makes me so happy. Rest in Peace R.L.99. You were an incredible and inspirational musician to so many of us and I feel grateful to have known you.
The fact that Omori and Mother 3 gets the high quality rip treatment, and shares the same song is a blessing. Rest In Peace R.L.99 I'll only knew you just from this rip, I wish I knew you sooner just to give my respect, thank you for everything you have done...
This is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen and heard. The attention to detail of both Mother 3 and Final Fantasy VI is incredible. Both of those games mean a lot to me, and to many other people, and I just can't imagine a better combination. This is a worthy tribute. Especially amongst the chaos in the world today.
Whenever there’s a premier, you know it’s gonna be special. I never really knew RL99, but the rips they contributed over the years were some of my favorites and this has been a wonderful tribute. Rest in peace.
This is, without a doubt, the greatest thing that this channel has ever put out. Before this week, I didn't know who RL99 was. And now I'll never forget. Well done, SiIvaGunner.
An insanely good and special rip. Thank you so much RL, for everything you’ve done for the community and for every contribution you made to the channel. Your efforts are honestly so inspirational I don’t know where to begin. You were such a hard worker and you went above and beyond in everything you did and this rip makes that so clear. I rest easy knowing you’re up there watching with us. We miss you dearly, man.
I was not the kind of guy that knew the individual rippers in this group. But this was an absolute masterpiece. I cried at the end... It's amazing how even memes can be used to make someone feel emotions. R.L.99... You were incredible. Thank you for everything. I may not know what exactly happened, but I wish you the best in your next life.
The Accelerando part is my favorite. It's intense, dramatic and it makes great use of both sources. It's fantastic to ring out the tension of the 2nd Movement and enter the brightness of the 3rd Movement.
What a tribute! The incorporation of all the Mother 3 songs really makes this rip incredible. Also the art is a thing of beauty, an ultimate chimera you could say.
Rest in Peace, R.L.99, even if I never knew you, you still were a legend of a song ripper and just didn't know it. 19 was far too soon an age to die. Though, not gonna lie, seeing how they were born in the exact same year I was, and knowing how 2020 nearly went for me personally... knowing the very likely reason they died honestly hurt even more than I expected it to, 1 year difference aside. Condolences to their family and friends. If anyone wants to get a chuckle or two after that, though, as Christopher rightly pointed out they left a little something at 7:25.
The final sprites with Terra looking like Claus is an amazing touch. May you rest well man, we love you and your amazing work. I just wanted to point out how much I love this community so much.
anyone else notice the scrapped Giygas theme 0:55 to 1:36? probably most recognizable through the 8th note low synths, but you can also hear the... chanting? yelling? creepy gwarg noises or something idk. took me like, 30 repeats to actually hear it, but the attention to detail shows the work R.L.99 put into these rips.
Everything about this premier was awesome. The spritework is wonderful and it's extremely well put together, the music is amazing and the ending is the icing on the cake. we'll miss you. o7
If I had a playlist for rips that made me cry or trying to hold back tears this would be up there, such an incredibly meaningful rip, so much emotion packed in, I really wish I got to know you more RL. That dialogue at the end is what truly broke me
I only recently found about this, but some of the songs by R.L.99 are among my favourites on this channel, knowing the tribute you made to this legend, just makes me happy, thank you.
Nice, Ultimate Chimera mashed up with Dancing Mad, plus the Unused Mother 3 Giygas theme, the Masked Man theme, the Mother 3 Porky Boss theme, the Pigmask theme, Serious, Porky’s Porkies, Back Beat Battle, Mischievous Blues, Among Us Drip, Etude For Ghost, Bothersome Guys, Even Drier Guys, Natural Killer Cyborg, Rock and Roll, Dangerous Guys, Formidable Foe, Batty Twist, Strong One, El Mariachi, Unfounded Revenge, Mecha Drago, and It’s Over, and it goes super perfectly well together!😄🤩😎👌
Rest in peace, R.L. I may not know you very well, but I still feel it's necessary to pray for your safe journey to the whatever lies beyond. Your work was fantastic, you left a good mark on this world. Your friends will miss you dearly. Thank you for everything you've done for this channel. Rest in peace, friend, wherever you may be now.
honestly this is so good i love these mother rips I'm just sad that these are a tribute to someone who passed. although I didn't know them personally I offer my condolences to close friends and family we truly lost someone talented. Rip R.L 99
While I don't know much about Final Fantasy I'm a great fan of Mother 3 and it's beautiful soundtrack so this rip was really great for me! You can really see the passion and care that RL put into this piece of art and its really sad that he's not with us anymore... May he rest in peace and be remembered by us for his great contributions to the channel!
damn, so many good rips I didn't know we're from this person... thanks for helping with that giygas fnf week 6 rip, it brought me so much joy :) rest easy.
Rest in peace R.L.99. No one deserves what you have gone through to leave us so soon - I hope you are at peace now. Thank you for everything. Even ignoring the massive context that goes with this rip, it's absolutely one of my favorites in the entire channel lifespan. I've been listening to it for days.
The amount of sheer creativity and effort put into your rips were some of the best things to ever be put on this site. My condolences to you R. L. 99, may you rest in peace.
I haven't really, followed the channel or scene for a long time, and I never really knew RL, but as someone who was part of this scene years ago and had my own "signatures"... This is an incredibly sweet way to remember him. I'm sure if he could see it he'd be happy.
This is one of the most wonderful things I have ever heard, and I NEED this art as a full image more than I've needed anything else. A wonderful tribute
Lucas: "Terra, Are You Scared Or Not...?" Terra: "No, I'm Not Scared Anymore...What About You?" Claus: "Me Too, Terra...If I'm Gonna Miss You Both So Much, I'll Come Back To Alive Again..."
i may not have known R.L 99 till this video but this is absolutely fantastic! The sprites, the fact that they took advantage of the whole mother 3 soundfont... Absolutely astonishing i especially love the enemy sprite showing the other enemies (as well as some others too)
While I may not have known who R.L. 99 was, I CERTAINLY knew some of his rips on the channel. Mainly the FNF rips, but a lot of other tracks were his making that I didn't know were his. Thank you for the tracks you've provided for SiIvaGunner, R.L. 99. You will not be forgotten.
This moved me just as much as the original did, if not moreso, and my heart absolutely broke when I realized the guy behind it was gone. And so young, too. Godspeed, man. May one of the highest-quality rippers Siivagunner had to offer have a high-quality RIP of his own.
Phenomenal! An incredible blend of two of my favorite games. Thank you R.L. 99 for this gift, I can't express into words how grateful I am for your work here. Rest easy my friend, thank you for everything.
Goodness, what a spectacle of a rip. Even as someone who hasn't played Final Fantasy 6, this was a treat all around and an amazing tribute to both MOTHER 3 and R.L.99. Now, he's up there with Claus and Hinawa... I really hope he's happy up there. Rest in piece, R.L.
