Thank you for this video! I wasn't even thinking about just reusing the existing copper connections by removing the solder joints - but you saved me a ton of time and work. Thank you!
You can buy a small torch, solder, flux, and Emory cloth or the tool that they have to clean copper for probably under 50-60$ just go to a home improvement store or look up a plumbing sales company in your area. Its not hard, I learned this in a day before RU-vid, I suggest looking up a video and doing it yourself. Now wall repair if needed, i would probably leave that a pro....
I was quoted about 1120 for this yesterday (for labor only I have the parts). That's why I am watching this video :). I have a tile that needs to be cut and there is no access panel on the back.
I came across an issue with the same shower valve. The shower head was leaking with good pressure even with the tub spout off, even with the tub spout removed. Shortened the pipe for the spout but the didn’t do it. Replaced the cartridge with a new one and still the shower head sprays water as if the spout is on but the spout is no even installed lol. I did notice the “up” word on the valve is facing downwards and not upwards as is says. Could this be the problem pls help.
It would have been helpful to see how you pulled apart the old pipes after you heated them. I noticed you didn't have gloves on and didn't say anything about eye protection.
