@@michaelyanela2745yes i would like to see hisu too! She did short cameo in Austin’s AoT exhibition in sg on last year vid if im not mistaken, they travel overseas together
so glad that your mom liked AOT! also she already remembers characters' names and has her favorites!! I'm so happy to go AOT journey again with you and your great mother!!
Your mom is a perfect mix of traditional sweetness and awe inspiring resilience in the face of this show’s harsh tragic brutality. I deeply look forward to (and horribly dread) her reaction to episode 5
I'd just like to point out a neat language fact that doesn't come across in translation! When Eren talks about the titans, he uses the word "piki" when referring to their numbers. This word is normally used when counting animals, specifically small animals. His use of this word indicates he doesn't see the titans as human, nor as large threating animals. To him, they're nothing more than vermin, something to be exterminated.
Basically, at the cardinal points (that is, North, South, East and West) on each wall there is a gatehouse, and surrounding each gatehouse is a U-shaped wall segment (with another gate) that extends beyond the main one. You can see this on the diagrams shown mid-episode. On a castle this is called a barbican; it acts as extra protection around the entrances/exits, which are key weak points. So there's a double layer of gates, one inner and one outer. In AoT, each of these "barbicans" contains a town that acts as it's own district - Eren and co. live in Shiganshina district which is the Southern projection on Wall Maria. What happened was this - the colossal titan kicked in the outer gate of Shiganshina district, then the armoured titan charged through the inner gate to the interior of wall Maria.
Also, I think it’s mentioned that the towns served like a magnet for titans because of the high count of humans (like when Rod Reiss went after that town). So, that it was a bit easier to deal with titans and keep them away from other parts so like the Scouts could go out and explore.
I'm sorry if I spoiler for anyone but...its surprising that rainer and Bertholdt already have so much screentime in episode 2 of season 1. I mean ofc everything makes sense but still. damn
