The yanny/laurel thing is the word laurel slowed down (and therefore deepened) with pitches added above it to make it sound like yanny (so technically it is laurel, but makes sense to hear either.)

The thing about the yanny and laurel meme thingy is that you hear the one you focus the most on, it's like this subcouncious (pls correct me if i spelled it wrong) thing. Try to focus once on yanny and once on laurel then you'll notice it
