Hey I live here and I just wanna say somethings. We barely get to live during Halloween. It’s really hard to live in Salem because of the tourist. Our crime rates go up during Halloween. Remember Salem is not just something to look at but it’s a place people live. Please be respectful when here ❤️🙏
Hi, I want to visit Salem but want to avoid the crowds. Is the ending of September/beginning of October less crowded? Also, I'm planning to go during the week and not the weekend. Please advise. Thank you in advance!
Another downtown resident here. Yes, October has gotten so crowded that locals avoid downtown, and you cannot eat in any restaurants as they are booked up. September is now becoming "Septober", when crowds ramp up. It's very Halloween-ish all year, so don't come in October! We all breathe a sigh of relief on November 1st.
I don't want to be mean with the little museums but a lot look like tourists tramps. Is there anywhere you would think you would really show that's worth of watching? It looks lovely but it's true, I don't want to bother the people living there. Thanks! 'm curious
I've visited Salem a lot and I've found that with the exception of a few events that only take place during Halloween, everything else is the same the other 11 months of the year. Better off going in August or September when the weather is much nicer. It also makes the time much more enjoyable when you're not waiting in lines for EVERYTHING.
I would love to visit Salem someday. I am a Count Chocula person. I have the blow mold you want have had it since I was a kid. I love blow molds but wow they are expensive for vintage blow molds
Salem in October is fun and like a big Halloween party. But the hotels in town get crazy expensive and you have to book well in advance. Ideally start looking in winter time in the beginning year. Same goes for restaurant reservations. Youre going to be waiting hours to get seating from a walk-in. Tickets for events get snatched up super quick as well. There are even lines to get into stores. Definitely can be over whelming, not for everyone. Also I think everything's very walkable. Even pioneer village isnt bad. Especially on a nice day.
I am new to your channel and immediately subscribe when I saw this vlog. I am also a huge fan of Hocus Pocus as well as my kids and wife. Thank you for sharing this video to us and give us a nice tour of Salem. Hoping soon I can visit Salem with my family.
Fun fact my Great, Great, Great, Great grandfather was Samuel McIntire. He's very popular in Salam as he was a carpenter. His grain of wheat trademark is all over Salem and lots of historians talk about him on the tours. Its wild because my grandfather and my dad are master carpenters and woodworkers. It's in the Genes.
Thats very interesting! Im going this weekend, ill keep my eye's and ear's open for signs/mentions of him and his work! Also, my great x10 grandfather is Roger Conant (Hes the statue outside of the witch museum by the park). I guess both of us have men in our lineage who had a significant impact on salem!
early/mid September is when I enjoy Salem best🖤🧡 you still get that nice fall weather, you still get the spooky vibes, not nearly as crowded as October! Going in October was still fun tho too despite the large crowds, the parades & characters..Salem night faire during October weekends🥰
I enjoyed the presentation immensely, thank you for showing the "haunts" from Salem, and allowing us to vicariously tag along with you guys in the Halloween Museum, as well as everything else, I'm a truck driver, and am unable to park just anywhere as easily as most can with smaller vehicles, so I am seeing all these things for the first time. I am a fan of Hocus Pocus myself, it's a staple for my viewing every Halloween. I have to giggle a bit every time I watch NCIS, and see "Tim" currently as an NCIS agent, as he played the character Zachary Binx in Hocus Pocus, I think of him in the part and he really is a very versatile actor. Just wanted to let you know that the term you were pronouncing earlier, Samhain, is pronounced "Sowain" most people get that incorrect on their first try, because it is spelled like a typical Celtic word, never sounds like they are spelled. Glad that there are other people who share the love of Halloween as deeply as I do. Perhaps some day I can take the same tour in person myself. Thanks again!
I wanna go to salem so bad my husband and I actually spoke about trying to get there within the next 2 years during July for a week. This is a great video for letting people know when to go there.
Hello. This has been on my bucket list FOREVER. I’m just worried about crowds in October. Is it manageable? If we go in September instead, will it still be festive for Halloween and how are crowds in September? Thanks so much !!
Thank you Drew and Queen for showing us around! It looks amazing! You guys really do the best job explaining everything and showing the best spots! I love the watching this video! 😊
Yes it is. And you would never know theres a whole pond on the side of the house..i was actually in aww how a camera can change a scene..also neighbors directly to the left of his house yells at me yr for taking pictures...she doesnt realize her neighbors house is a historical Disney monument for us
Thank you so much for the incredible tour!!!!!!! I posted a couple qr codes for tours on my page for facebook. It has always been a dream of mine to go to this incrediblly haunted place. All the tragedys omg!!!!! I am doing a report at school and I was such a fan of hocus pocus as a child. I will be googleing the 3 sisters for sure to see if the correlation matters. thank you. you and your wife are just adorable hosts! Thanks! I had fun ..
If you're in town for Halloween and spend a little too much on gifts to bring back with you and find yourself over-laden for the trip home, salem has a UPS Store right downtown that can ship everything home for ya 😉
I'm a local.........I live an hour from Salem. October is kaos. September is the best month. It's the absolute best spooky city and I love that I'm so close. It's the best vibes
i've seem hocus pocus a thousand times never geys old! it's always so cool to see any kind of filming locations and match them up! yhanks so much! been to salem like 3 or 4 times almost always aronnd september ocrober. not really a fan of the creepy stuff but the history you feel just walkng around is amazing!
Boo Berry!! The special effects in this video were killer!! From Drews wardrobe change to the snapping of the fingers, definitely on point like Veronica’s new hat!! 🤩 🧙♀️. The neon colors in the museum is easy for them to achieve with a black light. Bubby used to have one when we were first dating in his apartment. I think he thought it was hot, just picture the scene with Ross on Friends! Nuff’ said ! 😁
Drew and Queen thanks for the views. I have watched a lot of videos but yours was most informative of how everything is laid out. I have an upcoming trip to there from Pittsburgh. Do you know anything about the Pirate museum and Gallows Hill theatre? I am trying to coordinate all our stops adjacent to locations. Do you think 2 whole days is enough time to see it all?
I'm going to 2nd not going on Halloween but definitely go aroind the last 2 or 3 weeks of Oct, so you get that fall ambiance, that you crave around Halloween time. Great video!
Hi Drew and Queen when you visit Salem Mass again look for the house owned by Bridget Bishop from Salem / i heard Bridgett Bishop is originally from virginia or from West Virginia
Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦 I just had to write and thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We happened across your vlog and watched it all. We planned our trip and did almost everything on your vlog. It never would have happened with out you. ❤❤❤much appreciation from myself and my husband. 👿👽👻👺🧛🦹♀️🦹🧙♂️🧙♀️🧙
This is just wonderful 🥰❤️ glad that the video could help in anyway. Glad you had a fun time in Salem , it is such a special city. Thank you for watching and your support with our channel 🤙❤️
That looks amazing! I’ve been wanting to go to Salem for literally forever. It looks so quaint. I also love Hocus Pocus and have watched it hundreds of times. Love the new shirt and I did notice the Frankenstein pic. Very nice video. Thanks
I am from fall river Massachusetts...and yrly about a week before Halloween iv driven to salem every year since iv been able to drive .. love the atmosphere..also they say people burned alive in the house from hocus pocus ..the. 2nd house in salem from hocus pocus near the pond..the next door neighbors hate visiotrs as iv been yelled at by the same ppl for yrs but will always go to the scenes of the movie and let the kinda lady know that he neighbors house is a generational monument for anyone born in the 80s nd 90s ..maybe even early 00s
I enjoyed this vid. There's so much of Salem to visit and nearly impossible to get in one vid. FYI if you ask the locals about where to get coffee there's a few good places but Jaho is prob the most popular. Dunkin Donuts is shortened to Dunkin. If you go again I think Emporium is a store you'll dig. In the summer Melt is great for ice-cream, caramel French patisserie is a must for a sweet tooth. There's a lot of cool shops by the wharf too. If you like spooky you'd probably dig 2 stores especially, Black Craft and Die with your boots on. There's so many nooks and crannies to find cool locations. Not to mention not far from Salem there's a castle (Hammond Castle) in Gloucester MA. It's a beautiful location. Plus Gloucester is a fishing town fisheries, seafood and a quiet laid back atmosphere if that's your thing. Just a few suggestions for those going or places you both may like. hope there's more vids to come.
