You are very hardworking, and it is nice to see, how your whole family is supporting you, and is involved with the horses. Great video and well ridden Ashley⚘👍
God I love how your dad loves those horses. I absolutely adore it when parents get really involved in their kids hobbies, sports, careers etc.even as adults, it’s really fantastic ❤❤❤
I enjoyed it! Zeb's show jumping gives me so much anxiety, he's like "I wanna feel ze poles, cares zem with my legs". Max is a star, best boy... Kato... listen to your mum Kato.
Your Dads work he has put in with Kato is the fact he is heavier than you so he has been working harder. So when you ride him its a breeze !! Keep dad riding him !!!😅😂 Maximus was on❤🔥
‘That was Nil Pwin!’ 🤣🤣🤣🤣 another great vlog! Love that Scott has to keep the Harrison’s in line for vlog content. Love this vlog and love seeing the riding content. Would love to see full rounds unedited so we can see lines and corners 🤓 but love them regardless. (I do love the editing and music, and how you manage the perfect mix of ‘seriousness’ with humour.) can’t wait for the next one! X
Great vlog Ashley your a cracking little rider all three horses look beautiful as always. A super bit of training good luck with everything this season I’ll be watching and cheering you on. Your dad had me lol as usual he’s a decent bloke 😂😂😂tfs you all work really well together too.😎🏇😎
Good bit of pre-season training. Some out and about for the lads and a good opportunity to see what needs fine tuning. Onwards and upwards to the eventing season.
I think we all know your Dad is the star of the vlogs at this point! 🤣 Looks like you had a good day out, especially for Maximus he looked ace! Zeb just loves his job so much doesn't he? Shame about the 1m10 with Kato, he made that hard work for you and you handled him well regardless. X
You must have been knackered after 5 rounds Ashley, l know you didn’t get all clear rounds but you’re enjoying and love what you do, well done sweetheart, tfs x Julie
Great vlog! Great family! 👨👩👧+ 🧎💍+ 🐶(black though) + 🐴🐴🐴, etc. Good Luck for the Eventing season 22/23 Zeb - and your stable mates too - 🤩go like the wind fella!🌬🏇 🥕🍏🥕🍎🥕🍏 x3 💙💛📿🙏📿💛💙
Very impressive riding on 3 strong jumpers and an entertaining team working alongside! Looking forward to following you all into the xcountry season. Greetings from across the pond in Canada.
Love the vlogs. Scott is a super cameraman/editor. Your Dad on top form again. New trailer?? I have the standard 2 horse straight load. Love it but love yours more. The windows are cool. 😀😀
Isn't Kato the horse you had the lesson with the Olympic rider? I'm not a rider but it did look different the second time. So happy to see Zeb out. He reminds me of a really big puppy 🤣. And of maxie. Very confident. You're doing great 👍. Keep up the good work. Tkh
Ashley you are amazing, your horses are huge! I bet there was not one other person there that rode 3 horses! But I don’t know anything about your sport except how much I love it! I love your horses, I think Zeb is my fav, but it is a close call cause the other 2 are also great! Congratulations on a very good day! Your family are so sweet always there for you and the horses! Do they ride to?
That was great that she rode 3 horses in 5 rounds. Idk about England, but in the US it’s pretty common to have riders with multiple entries in the same class/same show. When I was about 10 years younger, I would regularly take my three horses to rated Hunter/Jumper shows that last 4 or 5 days. In the Hunters, which are judged on the horses’ style and way of going, there are divisions, each division has two jumping rounds of 8 or 9 jumps and one flat class where all the horses in the division go in the ring at once to be judged on who is the best mover at walk/trot/canter. The Equitation is judged on the rider’s position and effectiveness and usually has one jumping round of 8-10 fences and one flat class where all the horses go in the ring and riders are judged at walk/rising trot/sitting trot/canter/sometimes counter canter/sometimes no stirrups , and there are usually several different classes at each height in the Jumpers (the easiest is just a speed round, where there’s only one round and the winner is the one who goes fastest with no rails down; then there is the classic format of a first round of 8-12 fences which you have to clear within the time allowed. If you have a clear first round, you proceed to a jump off consisting of a shortened but much trickier course of maybe 6-7 obstacles…winner is the one with the fastest time in the jump off with no rails down; then my least favorite is power and speed, which is basically like doing a first round in the time allowed with the speed round starting immediately at a predetermined fence, so there are 20+ obstacles in the entire course. There is no stopping and readjusting for the jump off after the first round-you just keep going straight into the speed round, so there are a LOT of obstacles to jump with NO break to reorganize). I would usually show all 3 of my horses every day, each one in mutltiple divisions (sometimes multiple horses in the same division). Each horse is only allowed to do I think 7 jumping classes a day (not counting jumps you jump during the warmup for each class). With three horses at each show, I would end up doing at least 15 jumping classes each day. I think my record was a total of 27 classes done in a day (including the flat classes). Needless to say, I was in VERY good shape! I usually did Hunters and Equitation at the standard Adult level of 3 ft (which I think translates into about .95m?). The Jumpers are actually listed in meters. I would do anywhere from .95 to 1.15m classes. Each horse would generally do two classes at two different heights. So it was a LOT! But I’d rather do 15 two minute jumping rounds with breaks between than do a show jumping round and then go straight into a 10-15 minute non-stop XC course! THAT takes a TON of fitness! Also, I prefer my rails to fall if my horse hits them😂
It was fun to see how you manage such three different horses in an indoor show jumping arena. I thought that that would be the hardest to take around in there, but actually it was Kato. I don’t think I realized until I saw this blog how much bigger Kato is than the others. And the others are not small. Perhaps I missed it, but you said you tried a new bit on one of them. Was it Kato?
That was great! Good riding of all three horses in all classes! I think Kato’s problem in the 1.10m class is that he’s SUCH a big horse, and he doesn’t seem to jump well from the short distances (just judging off all of the videos of you riding him that I’ve been watching). He isn’t able to rock back and get out of his own way when you get in to a tight distance at a jump. He seems to prefer more of a gap. You probably already do this, but I find doing gymnastic grid work can really help them use their bodies better. It IS much harder to compress such a large horse though. He also doesn’t seem as careful as Max is with his legs. Max looks like a fun one to show jump. Honestly Kato might be a good one to go to the US and do the bigger Hunter classes and Hunter Derbies. He has a nice bascule, and the Hunters are generally asked to jump from a longer distance. He certainly has the scope for the Performance Hunters and the National Derbies here in the US…. But you did a great job on all of them! Just my opinion on what Kato might excel at (besides the XC). I wouldn’t mind having him myself, tbh! I don’t do XC, but I do compete in Hunter classes (as well as Jumpers and Equitation). As long as it’s a flat surface and the rails fall if we hit them 😂 I don’t have the courage to tackle XC, especially the higher levels. I look at the 4* XC jumps on your vlog and want to 🤢. No thank you!! Stuff of nightmares!
Ik I am 4 months late but you rode them really well you’ve inspired me so much for eventing you did amazing i’m really grateful to be able to see this channel it’s amazing Kato maximum and Zebedee did really well and Ofc you did and your dad and his decent four months later he has his decent hat thank you so much for inspiring me I don’t know what I’ll do without this channel
I went to help at my school show at Merrist Wood a couple of weeks ago, went to the toilet two stalls looked like someone poured a whole bucket of muddy water in them! 😂
A really nice video as usual, but I was completely flabbergasted to see that in Great Britain you are alowed to put three horses in a trailer behind a normal car, in the Netherlands you can put one horse in and if you have a really heavy car you maybe can put two horses in, but three is completely out of the question!
