It's still the same person. People just can't deal the darker side of her.

tnargtnarud or more so...people resignate more with her darker side. This is extremely dark as fuck. All of gagas stuff past the BTW era has actually aimed at being uplifting in some way and ARTPOP has a lot of sexual/ mainly positive songs. So one could argue people cant deal with gaga's lighter and happier phases. they crave for her to be dark and miserable (something she even feared and hence didnt want to fall in love again pre taylor)

She was mainly in mourning for Alexander McQueen, who one of her closest friends.

This Gaga's never left lmao. If you didn't see any of the Coachella or Joanne Tour visuals you missed out on a lot of dark visuals,especially the Coachella intro alone.

Apparently, the one for this film played after Money Honey. And the gun scenes were eventually used for "Boys Boys Boys" in the arena version. But in the earliest version, you'll see the buildings in full and unseen poses that Gaga made that were cut from the final version of this film.
