Oh you didn't know Shrek we see today is Different than the development one In early concept Shrek use his Kid Book design and it so Ugly and Disgusting The story also feel like Acid Trip They then scrap and change it to Shrek we know today The Old Shrek is a Lost Media but some people found the Test footage And it available on RU-vid
Fun fact, Lord Farquaad is potentially modeled after then-Disney-CEO Michael Eisner, who Katzenberg, the producer of Shrek, did not like. Hence why he's short, annoying, the villain, ugly, and called fuckwad.
#26 FUN FACT : If an animator didn't do well on a project or an animation they would be sent to work on Shrek as a punishment 😂not realizing how popular it was going to get❤ so kudos to the animators of Shrek
Its crazy to think that if animators didnt so well on the prince of egypt they were sent to work on shrek and its nice but also sad to realize no one actually watches or even knows about the prince of egypt. Its one of my favorite movies❤
@@ultraboombean yeah, prince of egypt isin't a bad movie but its pretty... boring in concept compared to shrek, its good yeah but its not doing anything new, its a 90s era 2d dreamworks animation, shrek while taking a long development time, was truly 2000s, it was NEW
@circleinforthecube5170 Okay, I can't comment on how fresh it was as a movie, but... It was literally dreamworks' second movie after antz, a 3d movie. So if the implication is that it didn't do anything new from the other 2d dreamworks' 90s animations... You'd be mistaken twice actually, as the rest were released in the early 2000's
I remember watching the special features for the Shrek movies to learn about the process of making them. Hair was a NIGHTMARE for the animators throughout the franchise, but by Shrek the Third, the technology started to improve to the point where they became more daring of animating more complicated hair, such as the scene with Rapunzel's wig falling off.
Puss was originally meant to have his cape through the whole movie, but it's only seen when he's first seen with Shrek, and on posters. This is because it was hard to animate the cape.
@@Mas0nAnimations dude i truly don't know about the quality of their courses and stuff but this youtube channel is just sooo lame, as an animator i find it so frustrating because they never say ANYTHING
@@user-tr2dh4xx6u Nah, it's a scummy tactic used pretty much exclusively by garbage creators, it's a pretty good litmus test for who I want showing up in my feed.
To all the animators who worked tirelessy to make good animations like this your workbos loved by someone so lets give them a round of applause they worked so hard for their work n it wasnt as easy as it is today
Before people with weak technologies could made legendary games, moves and etc - nowadays with way better technologies people make low quallity and empty products! Reminds me a phrase - technologies evolve and humanity devolve
That's because all of the animators only does 2D animation that did DreamWorks' The Prince of Egypt, the reason why is because it's actually a punishment from the failure of the said movie which the fact that the punishment was named "Shrek'ed".
20+ years is still pretty new and short to get something so hard to animate to look good, for us 20 years is long but when it comes to animating it is really hard to master and understand completely
@@oliwiol8043 only because how limited hardware was at the time so computers handling 3d software was also new. Also 20+ years isnt just "20 years" its definitely more than 30 years.
I hope this a satire comment. If not, that's her hair. Her face was not put in yet. And I'm a black person and I'm about to make a joke. If she "did" a blackface...it's cool. I'll let it passed, since she is a badazz
As I heard they wanted to do long hair as Disney with their princesses did, but ended up with a braid that is actually more accurate to the times even tho it's a fairytale it's still medieval fairytale.
