man "The Legend of Shrek: Ogrerina of Time" was sure a classic game. i remember playing this and it changed my life forever. the writing, the gameplay, the music, were just so great that it will always be in a place in my heart. ah good ol times.
i was born in '02 and my family was more of a sony family than a nintendo one. along with ps2 i had this when i was a lil kid and when i heard the LOZ lost woods theme for the first time, i was confused because i thought that song was originally from this game lmao.
@@jordanmillraney5481friend, I mean this in all seriousness. This was a joke. We obviously know where this came from. OoT is the older game here for crying out loud. Everyone should know that, the VSmile wasn’t released until 2004. Not trying to be mean or rude, just trying to not be the guy to go r/whoosh. That’s been done to death.
I was a little boy playing this game for the first time, and it was my first exposure to the "Inside a House," "Kokiri Forest," and "Lost Woods" themes. When I first heard Wind Waker's "Inside a House" theme, my like 10-year-old self thought "This reminds me of Shrek music." Now I know why.
10:37 So, I was just watching a bit of a livestream from Korone and she was playing a Super Mario RPG-like game, and during the battle I came across, I heard music that sounded JUST LIKE this music here! This is just so mind-blowing to hear! I already know that this game has ripped off music from Zelda and Super Mario, so I guess they might have also ripped off music from a classic RPG from Square, possibly a Final Fantasy game. If anyone knows what the original music is, please let me know immediately. UPDATE: It’s actually music from Saga Frontier. A classic Squaresoft RPG for the PS1, same console as their most famous game, Final Fantasy 7.
I wonder what the budget was for this game… Obviously not a lot since this was a game made for the V.Smile, and not a more at-the-time popular console like the Wii; But like, whichever dev team was making this, they were clearly able to get Eddie Murphy (or did they get Mark Moseley?) to reprise his role as Donkey (though kinda in a cheap way by having him record only a few lines and words recorded, so that they could be mixed together in-post to make new sentences)… And based on how literally everybody else with available dialogue has their lines ripped directly from Shrek and Shrek 2, I'd doubt their budget also consisted of paying Nintendo royalties for the OoT music (and also the Castle Sneak stage music? I dunno, it just sounds familiar to me…)
I have severe memory disorders, but for some reason I can recall every single minuscule detail of this game that I must have played when I was 3 years old or something. It's really throwing me off.
Lines from Shrek in this game: Shrek: I don't think so. 1:52; 14:13; 38:29; 39:00; 39:16 Shrek's groan Fiona: Wait, where are you going? Shrek: You know what, maybe there's a good reason donkeys shouldn't talk. Fiona: Donkey, calm down. Shrek: Oh that's nice, now let's go! Shrek: It's quiet. Too quiet. Where is everybody? Shrek: Just keep moving. Shrek: DONKEY, LOOK OUT! Shrek: Okay you two, head for the exit! I'll take care of the dragon. Shrek: Donkey, I'm warning you! Shrek: Donkey, two things, okay? Shut...up. Shrek: BYE-BYE...See ya later! Lines from Shrek 2 in this game: Fiona: Yes! Shrek: What? Puss! Shrek: Come here, little kitty kitty kitty. Puss In Boots: It would be an honor to lay my life on the line for you. Puss In Boots: You've engaged my valuable services. Puss In Boots: This is impossible! We'll never get in! Shrek: Puss, do you think you can get to those on top? Puss In Boots: No problema, boss! Shrek: Happy now? Come on, Donkey! Also 22:35, love that music loop.
@@kirbytsukinoXD Yeah, I guess that's a fair enough point. But considering they just straight stole music from a different iconic N64 game, it makes me wonder if they weren't at least using that specific jingle as "inspiration".
@@Takimeko i still wonder why they stealed specifically Ocarina Of Time, maybe because it was a popular game back then? Or because somehow Shrek was "related with Zelda" for them.
I vaguely remember having a V.Smile at a very young age, along with this game and a Superman one. What I don't remember is the stolen music from Zelda and even Darkseed 2, of all games. So weird.
"so how are we going to afford the voice acting in the game? because theres no way we have the budget to keep the original voice actors" "maybe just hire some cheap sound alikes? the kids wouldnt notice, let alone care" "no no no no. lets just sound mix it all together with audio from the movie." "are- are you serious?"
Every song of The Layers of Fiona: Ogrerina of Shrek House: 16:16 Lost Woods A: 18:58 Lost Woods B: 22:35 Kokiri Forest: 45:44 How Scummy that these lazy people just stole music from Zelda for some educational Shrek game
omg i had this game as a kid as well. no idea how i was able to do all these problems back then though, i had no idea what "multiplication" or "verbs" even was
43:51 Donkey: Are we there yet? Shrek: No. Donkey: Are we there yet? Fiona: Not yet. Donkey: Okay, are we there yet? Fiona: No. Donkey: Are we there yet? Shrek: No! Donkey: Are we there yet? Shrek: Yes. Donkey: Really? Shrek: NO! Donkey: Are we there yet? Fiona: No! Donkey: Are we there yet? Shrek: No, we are not! Donkey: Are we there yet?! Shrek/Fiona: NOOOOO!!! (Silence) Donkey/Shrek: Are we there yet? It’s not funny. That’s really immature. This is why nobody likes ogres. Your loss! Donkey: I’m gonna just stop talking! Shrek: Finally! Donkey: This is taking forever, Shrek! There ain’t no in-flight movie or nothing! Shrek: The Kingdom of Far, Far Away, Donkey. That’s where we’re going. Far, far…. Away! Donkey: All right, all right, I get it. I’m just so darn bored. Shrek: Well, find a way to entertain yourself!
This Game Is A Core Part Of My Childhood The 2th Stage As A Kid Was SO HARD For Me Also Does The 3rd Level Music Kinda Sounds Like Lost Woods Form Ocarina Of Time?
Pretty much the entire soundtrack seems to be sourced from random games from the 90's. Maybe they were intended to be placeholders but the devs completely forgot or something.
*There's 3 nouns and a verb* *throws potions to the three nouns one by one instead of trying the verb* Worst part is that he only forgot how to beat the boss halfway through the boss
Elle a plus ou moins survécu la mienne mais c'est clair que je l'ai poncé aussi 😂 Celui-là et quelques autres jeux, en vrai les cartouches et la console coûtaient cher mais c'était pas mal

They stole the most amazing game soundtrack of all time. Ocarina of Time. That’s just not cool. It some of the notes sounds so hard to even listen to. Why?
