i've had this stuck in my head alllll afternooooon "i tihnk i got you beat, i think i gottt youuu beat, yehhh yehhh yehhhhhhhhhhhhh" going round and round and round lol
OH MY GOSH! this is great! Brian D'Arcy James is soooooo handsome and Sutton Foster is just perfect! i love this play! I listened to the cd first because it looked interesting. At first i asked myself what i was listening to. I then grew to LOVE IT! in april i decided to look up tour dates. the closest tour to me was in 8 months! i told my mom to buy those tickets because I was going to see it! I was so excited when i saw it! ITS THE GREATEST THING EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVED IT SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!
I honestly hate that they cut out parts of the songs when they perform for shows. I know it's for time but I feel like it's way better as the whole thing.
I wish more shows would do two performances of songs like they did with this one. The cool and mellow “I Got You Beat” followed by the up tempoed “Freak Flag” was amazing!
Cause on the DVD it wasn't Humpty Dumpty. It was Tweedledee (or Tweedledum I don't know whom). If you notice the actress doesn't sing the same lines on the OST and in the DVD
I so hoped that when they talked about how great the musical is (which is so true btw, I freakin love it), John would just loudly agree in his Pinocchio voice and then let his nose grow lol... 😂😂
Damn. They cut my two favorite parts out of "Freak Flag". They cut Gingy's part in the beginning, and at the end when Pinoccio goes, "I'm wood, I'm good, get used to it!".
I really love this scene, and I think they are both amazing, but I wish they would have played bits of the first song a bit sadder? Just my opinion, it would have been very moving - 'did I mention I was seven' But yeah, love this!
@pjmc310 Yeah, it's in his makeup. If you look directly under his right ear, you can see it. It's just a little bump on the side. That's how small their mics are! Now, if only we had those in the theatre department at my school...hahahaha!
1: She had essentials which means food and water, she had a chamber pot, also called a piss pot. 2: You're talking about 'I Know It's Today' which happened before Shrek and Fiona met. It's not Young Fiona saying that, It's Adult Fiona. It is supposed to show time passing and how long Fiona was waiting. 3: Again, she had a chamber pot, and she had one window, do you really think a girl born into a royal family would let it sit? She had a window, and she was there for 20 years. She got sunlight.

i wanna see this soo bad!! but sadly i'm in canada. >:P i don't have the money to go all the way down to the states to watch a musical and then go home.
@christakare Really, because I went to see this on tour and then saw Les Miz 2 weeks later and in my opinion Shrek blew it out of the water and I was 6th row for Les Miz...
I think it will probably get a revival at some point, but not anytime soon! some shows have gone 30 years or longer before a revival and they were much better shows(not that Shrek isnt a good show) but in due time it'll happen.
How much violence and graphic sex is there in the show? I'm a huge fan of the Shrek legend and wouldn't want them to water down history for the sake of Broadway...
