I was watching that video in my University Library all those years ago, just as a bit of light entertainment to break up the studying... and man, it made me laugh probably more than any other RU-vid video ever has before and since. I must have looked like a right dickhead, pissing myself laughing at my tablet in the corner of the library... simpler times!
I'm convinced Ashen's incessant, uncontrollable laughter comes from the fact that the bottles were disguised as kid's cologne but really had traces of laughing gas in them.
According to Bulbapedia (a Pokemon wiki), the page for the Pokemon cologne says this: "The scent of the cologne contains elements of orange blossom, vanilla and musk. It is recommended for daytime use, though it is also suitable for evening use. It is a unisex fragrance suitable for men, women, or children."

"Here, child, I know you refuse to bathe but here is some cologne." Pokemon does seem to put out a lot of higher end products for women in their 20's-30's nowdays, but this certainly couldn't have been part of that line.
I'm not sure who officially produces most of the stuff, but there's a bunch of pokemon cosmetics in Japan by my understanding. I'm not entirely sure what's made it to the international market, since I don't usually buy cosmetics anyways. I also coincidentally saw the other day that you can get an official pokemon licensed wedding complete with pikachu mascots and wedding cake. It's kind of like Hello Kitty merch these days - a lot of it is for kids, but there's a lot of women who just really like the cute aesthetics and will buy some slightly toned down and cutesy products.
@@abbey5899 Yeah, a lot of Japanese franchises that were popular with young girls in the 90s, like Pokemon, Hello Kitty, Sailor Moon etc have high-end products marketed at adults nowadays, since the girls that were into that stuff back then are now nostalgic adults. It's not really a thing in the west, though, and you can tell from the design that this Pokemon aftershave is clearly marketed at actual children.
As much as I'd love if somebody would send him a bottle, unfortunately there were only 1000 produced, it was Japan exclusive, and it was sold one day only in April 2015, with the cost of ¥5,000, which included the spray and a whopper, but no drink or fries. I'd imagine even if you could find one for sale online somewhere, it'd be stupidly expensive.

That and because children acquire stench remarkably well. Adults have to work to smell. But kids? Freshly showered, playing video games for an hour, did nothing else, kids still manages to smell like they just crawled out of a dumpster on a hot summer's day. It really is uncanny. Also pretty funny. Kind of like how dirt just magically materializes on them too.
@@natsume-hime2473 How come kids smell that bad? I think for most humans, B.O. starts with puberty. And some adults don't need to do anything to smell... sadly I have to wear deodorant immediately after a shower :(
That Pikachu one looks like it was made back during the original Pokemon craze, therefore it makes perfect sense why it exists. Pokemon was literally everywhere even places it ought not be.

Read what you said and you'll laugh at how ironically enough one sentence has a double purpose, the first is what it is, the second is the joke just switch two sentences around and you'll see the joke

a man bought and tried to drink a banana scented bubble bath from the dollar store i work at. it literally said "banana scent" and he somehow thought it was juice.
Thought this was a sneaky poundland video, turned out to be a diary of Ashens becoming an alcoholic, smelling Shrek's boggy colon and trying to cover up the guilt with Cif
I love how Stuart is just losing it this whole episode. The Pokémon one somehow seemed the most absurd, something about selling cologne to kids is so insane.
ryan. Why? What does having a video or not having one at 10 minutes mean? I know 10 mins used to be a limit for the free version of Windows Live Movie Maker to be able to save or upload a video. But apart from that....?
You've nailed it on the head. It's cheap branded stuff that Nan and Pop can buy for the grandkids while they're at the chemist. At least the licensed bubble bath type products would actually be useful for a young child. Is cheap cologne the "we're grown up" thing boys get whilst girls get play makeup? Like even the mostly water/alcohol Disney princess colognes smell kind of okay, like watered down lolly juice.
Shrek = Poundland special Pikachu = we need more lemon pledge Minions = liquor for science geeks (probably could distil the alcohol with a simple three or four step process as it's 70% alcohol)
