In August 2021, Barnstable Clean Water Coalition (BCWC) began the installation of several KleanTu NitROE enhanced I/A septic systems in a neighborhood as part of the Shubael Pond Innovative and Alternative (I/A) Septic System Project. BCWC's Executive Director Zee Crocker explains the importance of this project to improve water quality around the neighborhood. John Smith, President of KleanTu Waste Water Treatment Technologies, and Brian Baumgaertel, Director of the Massachusetts Alternative Septic System Test Center discuss the NitROE system and its importance in reducing nitrogen levels.
You will also hear from Massachusetts State Senator Julian Cyr, Tim Gleason from the US Environmental Protection Agency and one of the project participants who has a NitROE system installed at her home.

These systems are not new. They have been in use in Rhode Island for years.

Hi Brian. Thank you for your comment. The KleanTu NitROE system that you see in the video has only been installed in Massachusetts, primarily on Martha’s Vineyard and a few towns on Cape Cod.

@@bcleanwater we have similar systems here in Rhode Island. I'm a realtor and the closer to the water you are, the more likely it is that you will need one.
