Closet Bassist You’re the one here overreacting about an oyster, and then you say that teenagers are morons. You’ve been a teenager too, honestly i think you’re the moron here.
You should try the East Hampton Shucking tool, it's the safest and easiest way to open oysters. You dont hold down the oyster down with your hand. It keeps your hand away from the knife. You won't get hurt.
things i am good at, oyster shucking and crab dismantling.... could i have a job doing just those things for the rest of forever? lmao... id props do it for free tbh.
My father was the first sea Captain to successfully bring the oyster seed to California west Marin! Back in the day they would never survive the trip. My dad made this happen . Captain L.R. Petersen
You ate oyster for breakfast ? here in Philippines if you ate any seafood with shells like muscles oyster etc you’ll get stomach cramps idk why maybe it’s a belief
give this guy a show. have him travel to different cities that are known for their oysters. he seemed like a normal guy who just loves what he does. *cheers
@@supadupaman86 You misspelled "I'm supadupaman86 , and I'm Homophobic" lol Let me help you. Here is a wonderful article called "Are Homophobic People Really Gay and Not Accepting It?" Enjoy. www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/the-sexual-continuum/201204/are-homophobic-people-really-gay-and-not-accepting-it
Some people just have different preferences and that’s fine but I’m always sad seeing people not like some seafood because there is so many opportunities for good food but you like what you like
It's California. When I was in college my parents moved to SoCal. I remember coming home for christmas from the midwest and I was in shorts and everyone there was in parkas (it was in the 50s and 60s). California has almost no seasonality to the weather so people there are hyper sensitive to very small variations in temps.
im so confused.. if you shuck with these farmers daily because they work for you- why are you all acting like you just met for the first time? what am i missing here.
I think since it’s such a big company he doesn’t farm the oysters, he just shucks them, so he hasn’t actually met them before. And they just farm, and don’t work in the restaurant. He was out on the farm to learn the ropes for the video.
@@timtimtheturtle9861 He did, but people on RU-vid like to be selective on what they consider "real work". People will find anything to complain about. I respect this guys work ethic!
how is he acting like he does this all the time? all throughout the video he's making self-deprecating jokes about the fact that he isn't used to going out to get oysters as the rest of the guys who do it every day. people will find ANYTHING to complain about these days
@@liltrooper29 its like a small mini clam it borrows itself in the sand under water. Tastes good. But you got to let them soak in water to clean out the sand inside the shell before eating
I love oysters and they look delicious. I use to go every Saturday afternoon with friends some years back to eat at least two dozen and have 5-6 beers at this place Snockey's in South Philadelphia. Made me appreciate all the hard work that happened before it went on my plate. Squeeze some lemon, a dash of Tabasco and slurp them bad boys down.
When you've tried oysters from all around the US you'll recognize mediocre tasting oysters like Blue Points. Kumamotos from Seattle's Puget Sound are really good! An oyster vendor friend of mine explained that oyster happy hour deals, etc are often bought already shucked and they simply serve them up on shells they've kept.
I've been watching and closely analyzing your munchies videos long before you guys even recreated a munchies channel. You guys have great characters as your chosen hosts, but I think Anthony deserves a shot as doing more munchies videos! He's a solid host. Maybe not from a perspective of a chef, but it's nice to have a perspective from a blogger I Think because he represents the audience more. Definitely more relatable imo.
You don't have to tell me. I had oyster shooters last Monday and my stomach is just now getting back to normal. I'll do it again though. They say it's best to eat oysters in months that end in R.
If you don’t have a girlfriend and are single know mater what you look like, how fat your are learn to cook like this guy and you’ll be Surrounded by women and friends. Just saying. Also be kind helps. I think I’m going to read some cook books tonight!😂
aattitude lol, still,I wouldn't move to a state with tons of earthquakes.Sure most of the buildings can withstand it.But mother nature is still unpredictable.U guys also forgot earthquakes can cause tsunamis.I just keep thinking of the movie 2012 when I think of Cali,a whole bunch of nope.
Where I come from you can't tell the bottom shell from the top because the oysters are so caked with mud, clams, and other oysters. These are white people oysters.
When I had a hardwood flooring company with my friend we worked 16 hour or even 24 hour days. When we got a break we would buy a bushel of clams, steam them till the mouth opens be and eat em as they were with canned coke. Simple but God damn good.
Copied and pasted, but wanted to share what I read: “ the capacity to feel pain and suffer, frequently is the main reason people “go vegetarian or vegan.” In his essay, Cox writes, “Moreover, since oysters don't have a central nervous system, they're unlikely to experience pain in a way resembling ours-unlike a pig or a herring or even a lobster”
I've actually been to this restaurant. I remember my baby 7 year old sister smiled at one of the shuckers and asked if he found a pearl. The shucker then handed her the biggest oyster I've ever seen.
