Well my 18 year old brain is stuck in this 70 year old body but I’m determined to learn some of these steps. Really good cardio workout. I’ve got the running man down after 2 days but it is rough and clumsy. Practice, practice, practice. Thanks for this video, really helpful.
Well that beats my 18 year old brain in a 50 year old body. Mine apparently decided that I *needed* to learn the running man and how to unicycle...2020 lockdown has a lot to answer for.
46 YO man apparently thinking the same as others. I will wait for the day to pull it out of the back pocket and when I throw it down it’s going to be totally awesome. I also do it as fun cardio. Rock on my dudeskies.
I am a 66 year old man. I've been quite athletic over those years, but I have to say, learning the running man has been the most challenging. This video really helps.
Girl this is the most helpful tutorial I’ve ever seen. Showing the common mistakes and explaining how to fix them + showing a side by side is SO helpful
75 yo shy TX grandma and closet dancer. You have broken down the steps so it is understandable. Just hope I don't break a hip practicing the steps. Goal is to get in shape and shock my husband.
because of you i improved (and still work on) my running man, learned how to 'rock' aaaaanddd i finally got the courage to record myself shuffling AND showed it to my friends(!!!) thank you sooo so much for the positivity you spread ❤
@@waynesimon1439 dude, yeah. the details is what i was missing, what she helped with. it was about the speed of the running man, not the move itself. nothing's wrong with needing help on the simple stuff.
Thanks for the instruction. I’m a 75 year old overweight man and I’m really getting used to the running man thanks to you … much better than my exercise classes with the old foggies in the UK.😊.
By far in a way the best tutorial I’ve watched on running man. You will have noticed Emylee that it ain’t all 20yr old folks learning from you - like the 70 year old and 50 year old trucker, I’m 59 but have had your tutorial on for 2 hours rewinding constantly and (1) you’ve really improved my running man so thanks and (2) what a workout!!!! Brilliant work - many thanks
I can't tell you how many tutorials I've seen, how many times I've seen videos of people saying "the running man is so easy to master" while I'm in my room making my attempt at the running man and feeling like a wobbly, stomping troll. This is THE tutorial which I think will finally bring me to my breakthrough. I am not a dancer but years ago when I first saw your shuffling videos, I knew I wanted to look like that and be able to dance like you do. If I can do this, my confidence will be so much higher 🥰 thank you Emylee!
You cleared up 2 mistakes that I have been struggling with. Bending knee stance and keeping the back foot flat and not lifting heel. Gold tips. Thank you!
I’m struggling with these too! I’ve watched her video a couple of times but I’m still not sure how to fix it. I can keep the back foot flatter if my stance is narrower. But the bending the knee is tricky.
I have been watching a slow motion video of me shuffling for weeks now and haven't figured out that I've been kicking down instead of stepping down until now...THANK YOU SO MUCH what would I do without you honestly
#4 is sooo me! No wonder I look a bit "off" when I'm doing it and not as cool-smooth looking as how you and the other dancers do it. The way you are extremely detailed -- rather than just a show and tell (which may work for some people) -- is very helpful to someone like me who needs both detailed verbal AND visual instructions. Thank you sooo much for this tutorial
Over 50! DETERMINED to nail this!!! Tytyty WE DID IT! Well, you, of course!! But, ME! With your help, I DID IT!!! Your tutorial is AWESOME! It got me unstuck!😘🥰😍
Emylee, thank you for your tutorial, I've seen1or 2 of others but yours is very clear and at a sensible pace. I'm determend to do a great running man now at the age of 66.
Been shuffling for over a decade and I can say this is probably one of the best videos I've seen for basics. There are so many dancers now that are making money off of tips and tutorials that are BS, but this actually breaks it down in detail. Good shit! Edit - not sure if it's intentional, but the kick forward is a part of toprock and makes a good transition when doing footwork
This is by far the best instructional video I have found on the running man, and trust me I've watched a lot of tutorials haha Thank you so much for breaking it down to the level that you did!! Kudos!
Bend leg For high knees place for forward Mistakes Not big hops small hop 5:24 Try to think your head should be as level as possible Don't put heavy feet on ground 6:44, try to Push only with front of the foot Your feet should be flat Kicking 8:15 not good Stepping 8:21 my mistake 9:34
Thank you for the detailed instructions. I've been wanting to try running man and shuffle but I am 62 and clumsy. I enjoy watching all your videos. You are amazing and adorable.
You are definitely one of the best at teaching this shuffling if not the best! Keep doing what you do because you got another 50 year old trying to master it. Saving lives. Thank you!
OMG THANK YOU - My whole like I just wanted to do this move and now I'm nearly 50 all I wanna do is shuffle like you. Ok so I can't do the running man yet but I will learn. My husband does it and I hate the competition on the dance floor - he is so good- so please keep posting! @emylee so ridiculously cool and hot all at the same time
I keep forgetting I’ll be 60 this year.......so this is right up my ally, as I hit the floor running......I mean shuffling. So be well all, as I can only imagine if we all keep up this dance, it should do everything to boost our immune systems against Covid-19, while those feel good endorphins are exploding thruout our heads. It could bring so many people together again in one worldwide Shuffle to celebrate 🎉
Thank you for doing this video, my 14 year old daughter is just starting this type of dancing and very much enjoyed the lesson. My 9 year old daughter says you look very pretty. Have a good day.
You explain this all so clearly and care to talk about the correct approach, it all helps so much. It really shows that you are a mechanical engineer ^_^
Omg you are seriously the best!!! I've been watching tutorials for weeks and I didn't get it until this video. Like literally in 10 minutes I was doing it after hours of tutorials. Thank you so freaking much!!!!!
I could not figure out why the running man looks so different in each video I see and got so confused trying to follow different tutorials. Thanks to you I finally understand the running man. This is the best video on the running man I've ever seen. Thank you!
Hi Emylee, I have just learnt and practiced running man according to your tutorial and I found it so useful. You explain so simply . You are the best! 🍁🙏👏🥰
This was so helpful! Especially the tip about keeping your head level and leaning into the front foot a little. My running man can look too light and bouncy, so im definitely going to try these tips!
thank you, this is sooo helpful. I didn't realize that some things of my practicing the running man are "wrong" (as in it looks better when you do it different) :DD
Great video, there are a lot of running man tutorials online and most of us get the general gist but it's hard to get the fine differences between pros. It just feels like stamping after doing a simple tutorial!
Hi Emylee!! I’ve been watching you for a while!! You’re one of my favorites!! (I like to watch Dina & his daughter too!!.. She’s SomCute)!! However.. I’m 75 & I thought this would be Great for me to learn to Kinda stay in shape & lose some weight!! I have found.. I’ve Somewhat lost my “hopping abilities!” But I’m Not giving up!! I “LOVE” this Dance (or steps)!! It’s FUN!! & Looks Simple.. but right now.. it’s a Challenge for me!!😵💫🤯😰🥺 With Your Videos & Help.. I Am going to achieve this!!💫💫💫🙌🙌👍👍🥰🤗👣👣 Thank you for Your Instructions & Videos!! God Bless You!! 🙌🙌💓💓🙏🙏🥰🎵🎶
For someone who can't dance at all this stuff amazes me as a guitar player in a band when I see someone dancing sometimes I lose my place watching people dance it makes me happy 😊 especially because I know they are dancing to my music 🎵
Thank you for the informative video. I'll be 60 soon, but I'm fascinated by dance. It's very interesting and so I'm learning it. Dancing is my passion. And it's a challenge for me. And there's nothing to do but practice and practice and learn. Thanks to Hel from the Czech Republic.
Thanks for the awesome tutorial! I took some notes to remember the helpful tips: • land with a bend in the knees to avoid the extra bounciness involved when the leg straightens • The bounce between beats should be as small as possible and just high enough to overcome the friction against the floor • Think about keeping your head as level as possible (like you’re balancing something on your head) • Be on the balls on your feet when you push off to prevent heaviness, but keep your feet flat especially the back foot • emphasize STEPPING DOWN instead of kicking down to create a more natural look
U make me love shuffling!! I find sometimes when my back foot goes back, I step it back instead of sliding it back... still super new to this so I’ll keep practicing
You are so good at teaching I feel like I can learn. By the way I like your video made in your studio flat where everything is mixed together and so natural, spontaneous and so like how real-life is really is, at least for me. Big Hug ❤ from Milan - Italy.
I have so much hard time with the bouncing :x I've gotten down a few moves I just have to conquer the bounce , the roof things will be helpful, thank you girly...ok edit I finished watched the video and the rest of your tips just hit home with me and I notice already I don't have as much bounce, you're amazing!
**THE EXPLANATIONS EMYLEE GIVES ARE EXCELLENT AND WELL COMBINED WITH HER ACTUAL PHYSICAL VIDEO PRESENTATIONS = CAN'T BEAT IT AND IF YOU PAY ATTENTION = LOOK & LISTEN, YOU WILL GET IT PRONTO = PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT!!!** **THANKS SWEET LADY!!!**
Kinda funny. I just commented on the other video about how the old timey running man was different than the current shuffle running man. Here we are showing that the old way is the wrong way. I agree. Time to adjust.
Thank you, thank you, thank you 💗. Now I know what I was doing wrong. I was using a lot of energy because I did it wrong. Now I can do almost effortless walk thanks to you video.
I started practising shuffle dance by watching your video. Right now I am not doing good …. Let’s hope for the best bcoz I luv to dance and these are my favorite dance steps. Need your support
I love how fluid soft movement's not harsh or bent forward like I see a lot do or clopping like a Clidesdale every evening I practice this whew 😥 does it help me sleep 💤😴 like a baby hopefully I'll start getting into your other techniques hopefully.
Great video! These are such great tips, especially tightening that core. Really helps me keep from bobbing up and down. Now to keep my feet flat on the floor.
from my experience its almost as if you have to "feel the floor" (if you took ballet you'll understand where im coming from) .. idk how to explain it but it makes sense to me. Thanks for the video!
