QOTD: we used to pay some to play, but switched to ftp because I learned Niantic was an A/R company and they don't seem to care enough about the gameplay!
QOTD: I'm not completely f2p, but I've pretty much stopped spending money to get remote passes. I've done SO many legendary raids, and I still don't have a single hundo legendary, while I have a friend who gets hundos and shinies like nothing. I realized I was literally just spending money for disappointment. And speaking of XLs, I wish Niantic would lower the amount of XLs needed to max out a pokemon since they're so uncommon to get. Especially the candy > XL candy conversion. 100 candy for 1 XL? Really Niantic?
I can confirm, it has taken me upwards of 6 or 7 rotations to hit 296 XL for some legendaries, and I still don't have either maxed origin forms and need to work on my Ho-Oh, Yveltal and others. I also do my daily raid every single day and have been playing for years, so yeah it's a massive grind.
Previously the OML meta was full of Necrozma with the global release which created a Yveltal meta so now all the fairies are coming out to play. Meta is currently all over the place because rhyperior is also now pretty solid to use, and Prima community day bumped it up too.
Also, in ML, double fairies are pretty meta. The thing is both Zacian and Xerneas don’t really fear steel, as they do neutral or super effective damage. And then the Tapu Bulu is more the specialist, there to beat Zygarde and Palkia. Primarina has now entered that discussion, since it’s neutral against steel and walls Palkia and really hurts Landorus. Togekiss and Florges are OK, but lacks versatility, IMO. Poisons don’t really exist there in ML. You can easily run triple, with Xerneas and Zacian and some random fairy (Primarina) as your third, and you have a perfectly usable team.
Same! After they implemented XL candies and made Remote Raid Passes less accessible and more expensive, I completely stopped raiding. Them introducing Shadow Legendary Pokemon raids was the last straw for me. The gap between F2P and P2W players has never been bigger.
Really awesome triple shundo team! I’m really glad you understand the problems faced by Free to play players because every other Pokémon go content creator do not care about F2P players as such and only appeal to players who pay huge amounts of money to get ahead in the game. I’m really grateful that us F2P players have someone to look up to like you. Every time you upload a video I am happy I bought your membership. GG
Qotd: I am not but I am very frugal with how much I spend and I only grind what is desirable to me. And that catch on the yveltal with your mamo was insane
QOTD: when I first started playing I bought tons of remote raid passes since I didn't mind spending the money but when I saw I started spending around $150 a month I decided I was going way over board. Now I limit myself to $5 a month, if at all, usually for coins or for some kind of pass (although it's been so long since I bought one since they all suck so hard now, I think the last time may have been for the shiny mew) Also, really cool shundo Machamp!
QOTD: I used to pay to play. Back when there was limitless remote passes. I'd spend 200-400$ usd a month. I barely buy coins these say. I spent 20 this weekend but before that it was months since I spent anything on it.
I’m glad that you acknowledged that it’s possible to get Lvl 50 legendaries on a free account if that’s what you optimize for. It’s honestly annoying seeing everyone just pretend like you need to spend hundreds of dollars just to get one team in the ML. It takes a few months to build one, one at a time. But it’s possible.
I'm mostly F2P. I've spent less than $100 since I started playing in 2018. And I have probably 3 solid teams to use in ML. Very close to having a few more solid teams/mons to utilize as well. I prefer GL/UL but too many people try to say if you don't spend money, you can't compete and it simply isn't true. Taking advantage of the 50 free coins per day does help greatly but depending on what your goals are for GBL, you can strategize and help to achieve those goals while spending little to no money at all. I also don't understand the problem people have with spending a couple bucks on the game from time to time. Sure, maybe you hate Niantic, but if you're really spending so much time playing the game, you obviously enjoy playing so it shouldn't really bother someone to spend maybe $5/$10 every month or couple of months. It can go a long way and it's not really hurting the pockets. I really think people enjoy complaining because they think unless they spend thousands, they can't reach the potential others can,but that really has nothing to do with it. Strategy and time management go such a long way with PoGO.
@@rr-sp5ii No, he said you could do it, if that’s what you grind for. I have a one year account with a maxed out Mewtwo and a Lvl 48 Xerneas. It does not take years to max out a legendary if you play optimally.
@mbvglider I heard what he said. He said it would take years because it would be multiple rotations. And he is correct. If you only use your free raid pass and 50 free daily coins it's impossible to get the 298 xls needed to max out a legendary in one year. It takes from 70 to 90 raids to the candy to max out a legendary. Even if you got free coins all day for one year you would just have enough candies for enough raid passes for exactly one max legendary. Tell me how did you max out a mewtwo with a one year free account? And still have the candies for a LV 48?
@@rr-sp5ii He said it would probably take years, but it does not take 70-90 raids at all. You get 3 XLs every time you win an in-person raid, whether you catch the thing or not. If you have an Mega Lvl 3 going, it's not uncommon to get like 5-6 XLs every time you catch a raid boss. With all that, 35-40 raids are what I should target. Psychic megas are insanely common. At the time I started the account last year, there was a Psychic event, I pretty much got free energy for Mega Medicham, Mega Slowbro, and there was also a Mega Gardevoir going on if I remember correctly. I started leveling those mega levels up every few days. I hoarded coins and only bought raid pass bundles when they were very cheap. The hundo Purified Mewtwo was mostly built during the Shadow Mewtwo weekend, when people were super excited to raid Mewtwo. Yes, I purified a Mewtwo, it's fine to do so for PVP. As for Xerneas, it was in raids for two weeks straight. Very doable to find many raids over two weeks. Also, I used my free pass almost every single day. There was a whole season where there were two free raids per day. That means I got a bunch of Rare XLs from raids, too. Also, I walk 10k steps per day and try to get the buddy excited when above 10 km, to get candies twice as often. The math checks out. It doesn't take years.
QOTD: I’m a pay to play player I was f2p for the first 3 years 2016-2019 and then realized I wasn’t going to get anywhere anytime soon so decided to break down and start investing
Strange.. I don't have to spend a penny to get to legend and leaderboards every season lol. Sure I do miss out on master league and just don't play it, but it doesn't prevent my progress.
Not to hate or anything since I see you do make content but just try to start small and only start spending more when and if your channel and revenue from it starts growing. Otherwise it’s not really investing/bad investment I don’t make any money from the game and since 2016 I’ve probably spent around $200-300 on it. So I understand how easy they make it to give in.
I don’t spend much, if there is an event ticket for a few bucks here or there I’ll do it but I don’t often do remotes. I did go to go fest twice which was awesome so I’m running shadow dragonite, shadow rhyperior, and a dawn wings. Pushing 2300s rn
Yup, right now fliers and fairies are everywhere. I think it is a combination of less steel due to Rhyperior, a lot of dragons, accessibility (ho-oh, xerneas, and yveltal were recently in raids, primarina and Florges are very easy to grind) and mud slap itself. A ML version of skarmory would wreak havoc.
QOTD, I used to swear I would stay F2P, bought coins once and got hooked. I buy coins whilst also maximizing my daily coins, using my free pass, etc. the combination has worked extremely well
My master league problem stems from nit having other trainers around to do raids with they r only out during events and even then it's pretty sparingly
Im stuck at my current level cause i need to win Master League battles, but i really just dont have the XL's for anything. I have a few non legendaries i could bring up, but then i lose so much stardust for league i barely plan to play
Qotd:I aren't ftp,On average spending about 2-5 pounds per month on Pokémon go.This month I will say I spent a solid Ten pounds just because groudon is my favourite legendary Pokémon. Will probably end up spending a lot more depending on my luck with shinies.
Qotd: I haven't played in probably 7-8 months. I do spend a little when I'm playing, I like having a couple of incubators and remote passes. And wanted event perks. Maybe $10-$20 a month. I tried free 2 play a few times and just ended up quitting for a while. Why I'm not playing now lol. Niantic has just made so many bad decisions, and I don't want to be tempted to even spend money on the game. I'll relunctly be back...I always do. But w gbl running so bad and the state of the game. It won't be anytime soon
Qotd; I used to plow money into the game, both accs. Now i cannot afford it, since they raised the prices. Im lucky I built most my ML roster for cheap... BUT ir hurts if a new Meta Mon is released now. 😢
QOTD: Any money ive spent on pogo is from google survey rewards. Been doin em for years and every $10 or so, ill buy some coins. But i dont spend money on the game for pvp sake.. since i know it would take too much in the first place. Just no ML or XLs for me for the most part. Doesn't prevent me from hitting legend or leaderboards. I will say this season keeps me limited more to GL than anything, UL is slowly becoming paywalled too except for glass cannons. Still hit veteran already though but its a shame i cant enjoy ML as it actually seems like a great meta.
I did the Google survey rewards for a while but I just found they'd hardly ever ask me anything. Sent my phone to be repaired a while ago & haven't downloaded it again since because I forgot about it tbh but I'll give it another try.
I don't mind there being a p2p aspect to games, though I choose not to spend money on games in general. I do wish they'd bring back master classic that capped at lvl 40 every other season or so to give the general user base a way to be competitive and have a wider variety. Even if you were trying to max out some mons, youd be able to hold them at 40 until you had all the resources and use them in that cup until then.
I generally skip 1500 metas for the most part. I usually only play ul and ML. Masters is my favorite meta of all. I started 2018 and stopped f2p 2019. I do live in NYC, so raids and spawns are everywhere. I have every meta mon built for masters. Well not including zygarde to lazy or forget to do routes. Only mythical I have at l50 is marshadow
not exactly free to play but i spend very little in the game, and i would say catching pokemon with good ivs and shinys are more of a priority for me than getting everyone to level 50 so i dont really feel the need to spend. also i find remote passes a ripoff, and i come across regular passes often so im okay. downside is i probably am able to do much less raids than most people
I consider my self f2p the most money I spend is the occasional $1 community day ticket. I never like spending money on mobile games so usually only go for the cheapest deals possible.
I'm mostly free to play ive put maybe $40 in the game playing since day one (stopped for a while). Just don't have money to put into it and not enough people in my area usually for in person raids/trades. I have 23 premium passes cuz I just never use them
QOTD: im free to play because Niantic is just like every other videogame company nowadays. The game is extremely grindy and pay to win and their tactics are clearly predatory many of the times
I mentioned in the video that I ran out of TMs & ended with trailblaze on Ursaluna, but also Machamp really doesn't hit hard in the master league so close combat is kinda needed for decent neutral damage.
I'm not F2P, but I do spend less than many others I see around. for the most part that's because Niantics events are, more often than not, just not worth it. oh boy, only 5 bucks and I can do 10 additional researches, and get 10k dust and XP for it? yippie *heavy sarcasm*
qotd:i am ftp coz i don't think this game developer deserves even a single penny with how they absolutely neglect everything and how they ignore players. also i built a rank 11 shiinotic from level 5 lmao.
I also stopped paying when candyxl was introduced. Spent like €80 total since the introduction for even tickets and such. Back in the day I didnt mind paying like €40 per month, sometimes more, for raid passes etcetera
QOTD: I am a f2p player in every single mobile app and videogame because I simply do not believe that micro transactions are an ethical business model, its predatory and its ruining modern gaming. Also niantic is absolutely horrible at their job. I will never give them a penny of my money ever.
The people who ask for shadowclaw Ursaluna are the exact same people who will scream for a shadow Claw nerf two minutes after they actually do it. It's untenable and game breaking, and we already know how bad it'll be. Stop asking for it.
@@andrewcurl909 Bro it's just an opinion why you getting butt hurt over one move plus it sounds like your the one complaining I really don't care what Niantic do to certain pokemon
@@dr.gamez2072 75% win rate in open Masters in the 1s and 2s with Shadow Claw/Ice Punch/High Horsepower. Nobody should want that, unless their goal is to get Shadow Claw nuked into unusability.
@@andrewcurl909 I mean I agree with you but then again it was only an opinion how about this what fast move you think ursaluna deserves so it won't be to broken I only said shadow claw cuz I like ursaluna one of my favorite pokemon also to be fair the game is unfair for people on android and mons being op like zygarde
I been free to play since i started. Hit legend every season I tried except my first and leaderboards as well. I dont pay because i dont see a reason to and Niantic is a terrible company.
Qotd: I've spent 1 dollar in the game for some remote raid passes and thats it. Unfortunatelly this way I will never have the best mons maxed for Master League, but it is very playable in Ultra League and Great League, so thats ok.
I've played since launch and I was p2p for the first 3-4 years, but after Niantic's monetization schemes started to get more predatory and at the same time they ignored major bugs, I stopped using money. I think it was around that time when they removed the good ~1400 gold incubator boxes from the shop, because that was the nail in the coffin for me. I won't be using any more money no matter what happens and if Niantic starts to make even more content behind real world currency paywall, I'm quitting completely.
