Chishiya was beyond depressed, he was in full blown apathy. He didn’t care if he, or anyone else, lived or died. When he is in the Borderland, it’s why he takes such interest in Arisu and Usagi, and even Kuina. People willing to fight for others, over their own self interest. It gives him the small measure of hope he needs.
Yes and you could see the “no fucks given” anymore look and that he used to be all hopeful and good until this moment broke him and it’s not hard to see why. Even in his first appearance when he says “good idea” to call out where the tagger was but then “no one will do it” was the first sign he was once just like the main character but something broke him.
I think this was the breaking point of Chishiya going from having that hopeful outlook to seeing that it doesnt matter. People will always have selfish intentions no matter what.
He already lost his will or intention to live way earlier in life. The sole reason that he became a doctor was for him to try and learn to appreciate human lives more. Sadly he still doesnt. This doesnt mean hes maniac killer or anything. Just that he never cares about anything that happen
@@angpham941 I know that was in the manga, but I think they changed his character in the show to appeal a bit more to the public. that's why they included him in more games and gave him that line about how his perspective in life changed after being shot, and that he was wrong when he used to devalue others' lives, and that he was afraid.
It was expected but not directly expected, doctors tend to have a calm and composed nature, and this tends to help them a lot to solve problems, and they rationally analyze situations in order to save a person's life instead of getting overly emotional.
People who cant believe how he is a doctor, well the flash back explains why he is clearly changed to an emotionless person because he was dragged into this corruption and let countless people die because of his superiors.
Hmm... That makes sense because a doctor's job is to save people's lives. So it could be that when he was dragged into the game, it probably affected him emotionally to watch all those people die mercilessly and he couldn't do anything about it and that's what made him change.
Back in season 1, Karube and Arisu joined the Tag Game primarily to find a doctor to help Chota. Turned out, there was actually one in that game and Arisu literally became acquainted with him. LOL
I rewatched and heard them say maybe there is a doctor. They panned to him but he had his music playing which was why he never heard but he probably wouldn’t have helped anyway 😂
As weird as this might seem, im not surprised Chishiya was a doctor. I don't know what it was but even though he had betrayed Arisu in the first season and was overall a very quite character we didn't get to know about until s2, there was something that told me he was more important than people thought
Hard to imagine this guy being a doctor, especially since doctors respect other’s lives. Remember in season one where he casually betrays Arisu to get to the safe? Someone who’s a doctor doesn’t do that unless he’s a psychopath.
I think he is a psychopath, he literally says in the flashback that he doesn’t care about the patients and families feelings (when that woman was crying over her son dying) because it’s all just part of the job for him. You can also see he really doesn’t care when anyone dies in front of him.
@@chloeee4054no i think what thé flash back is trying to say is that he wasn’t this depressed person but after seeing how many people die he finally gave up and accepted the reality and became who he is now.
Just because he’s the role of the Doctor doesn’t mean he actually needs to become the role In Borderlands. The Borderlands have revealed to show who you are on the inside instead of a peaceful and fake facade you keep for others. All because their life is on the line.
everybody saying that he became emotionless for this, but it's wrong, after all, if you read the manga, you gonna see that he glew up without love, and your parents only married by status and money, he glew up at an ambience without any love and good feelings. he didn't care about the kid, he didn't felt sad about it, he only figured on the situation: a mother that lost her son, in the common sense, it's a sad and understandable situation. after all, the most people would be sad or emphatic about the kid's mother, the most wouldn't be normal about it or in the "fuck up" mood. he did this, little , but did. well, it's only my opinion about how he became cold and apathic. Chishiya is an empty human, with no goals, he says that in the end, he feels like he only existed to demonstrate “just how empty a human can be", and nobody likes him, and he knows, not even he doesn't likes himself. ( sorry if i made some mistake, english isn't my first language )
agreed, i mean he looks fine af like this, but would be better if he had another look, heck his long dyed hair would be better excused as the effect of his depression after hayato’s issue

For all we know he might have been lying about his backstory just to get on the lawyer's good side, and play with his feelings and empathy, and win the game.
I never expected him to be doctor just coz of hair. I mean imagine going to Dr, that to a cardiologist with such hair colour, admitted he looks damn hot but in medical field such look would be frown upon.
Poor patient shouldn't be priorities if you want to make hospital successful and make money. Poor patient attract poor patient, not to mention if something goes wrong they sue you for money and media attention on Poor people. Rich patient attract rich patient even if something goes wrong in one or two patient people still don't ruin your or their reputation, if someone does try to ruin rich people back you up in society so it is more likely to work out.
