The Shure MV7 really does steal The Yeti's hold on the USB mic market, in fact with a quick and cheap modification it can even challenge the more expensive Shure SM7B for the best mic for presenting on video or Podcast.
I appreciate your comments said within your video. Currently I've been using a blue yeti for nearly 10 years. Switched out the mounting several times because it is a rather heavy mic, all but my current one has sagged. It's been in the back of my mind regarding getting a different microphone but I guess I don't like change. Your video is one of several I've come across regarding the Shure MV7 and I like what I'm hearing, literally. Also a great tip regarding the filter replacement from the more expensive mic! I'll definitely consider doing that. You've gained a sub and I'll definitely be checking out your other videos.
Thank you, I'm very mindful that people spend money based on recommendations and I don't like people wasting money, so I try to give as much information as I can, while adding in a little but of fun too. I too loved the Yeti for years and it still is a good mic, the MV7 is just the result of technical development and things moving on in the world. I have to admit that little filter replacement makes a HUGE difference, I also have the SM7B and feel kinda stupid buying it now when I could just use a MV7 and get 99% of the quality for a fraction of the price.
Haha very good. The only thing I don’t like about the shure is the micro usb, not usb-c. The cable insert gets damaged really quickly! Good mic though and looks way better than the yeti.
I broke up with my yeti a year ago it wasn't as love at first sight for me as I live in New york it was a mistake but I fell in love with the Xm8500 and the rode podmic and it has never been better
The Rode Podmic is a great mic for a busy city, being a dynamic mic it will do a good of ignoring external sounds. I love Rode mics, I have a Rode Procaster which sounds identical to the more expensive Shure SM7B. You could call me a Rode Fan Boy
See a few of your videos now and they’d re great quality. I’m Amazing you do not have more subs. Keep at it as the videos are great and I’m sure you will make it
They certainly do for sure, however, most of my audience is just getting started and aren't at the stage of sound treating a room - this is the reason why I've not created the video that I've wanted to create for a while - how to build your own sound panels. Many of my viewers are creating out of a shared room and have to contend with external "house sounds". But your right a sound treated room is the why to go, in fact when I use my AKG 414 in my recording studio the sound is amazing.
When I see and hear the Sure MV7 dont sound very much different to the Blue Yeti in My opinion, I have a Yeti and Audio Technica at4040. I regularly see MV7 users on RU-vid messing up there audio and I dont see that as much with Yeti users.
@@AquilaTheHun sure, but they are microphones that function entirely differently, and are better or worse for different voices and different scenarios. I can use a dynamic microphone in rooms I wouldn't even consider using a condenser because it's less likely to pick up background noise
@@ParallaxSound315 Thanks. As for the environment, I use Logitech's GHub's presets and it gives totally noiseless recordings with my Yeti (the raw Yeti would pick up a lot of background noise indeed). So this is not really a factor for me.
@@CourseBuildersAcademy I see. Thats good to know! I guess as long as I keep it plugged in at all times and give it a lot of slack and tie it down with velcro strap towards the bottom of my stand, I should be fine then. I think I'm gonna go for it. Thx again!
I have the blue yeti in blackout color for a little bit over 2 years. Is it time to upgrade to the shure mv7? And ngl, the blue yeti blackout does have weight when i first unboxed it and its thick and tall too Lol
The Yeti is a good mic for the money, but being a condenser mic it picks up a lot of background noise. The MV7 is likely going to sound better, but it can be a little quieter than the Yeti, I crank the volume of my MV7 all the way up and it still sounds really good. Personally I think the MV7 is a much better Mic and you should watch this video on the MV7 before deciding : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NGgBa-ZpcgA.html
