Shut Up and Skate - Pro Vert Finals at the Skatepark of Houston in 1989 Part 1 

Was in the sponsored ams division at this. Spent the week before hanging out and skating everything. Was a great time and wonderful memory. Went to three SUAS overall. I have video of this that i was able to get. Have Schneer doing naked hohos and vert riding the wall behind the announcers. Partied with Schneer and the LSD crew every night.

Pennington's front side ollie to smith grind across the channel was legendary. Me and my friend that lived in Dallas used to drive down there all the time during this era and skate, Pennington was who I always wanted to watch skate, his switch tricks were also legendary for this period, he was a lip trick master.

It's crazy I used to skate out their when I was 11-12 years old. I even had a Bryan Pennington BBC deck for a while.

Awesome old school footage!! Sometime after this event they built a Spine trick ramp four ft. tall where that big crowd of people are on the other side of the ramp! Houston Skatepark had a morning Session, and a evening Session each were $10.00! you also needed a $15.00 membership (photo ID) to skate! this was before the southside days...! This park also had a indoor trick ramp inside a small warehouse witch got very crowded on Rainy Days .. I can remember the Sign by the Booth it said "No Refunds" An Awesome place for how far we Had to drive... Near - Aldine mail Rout Rd. and The East tex freeway.. Today there is four skateparks with in 20 minutes from my home...
