This "repair" is effective if your shutter curtain has pinholes or cracks, but will not cure uneven exposures like your samples. If anything it will worsen the unevenness because the spray will increase the thickness and rigidity of the curtain. Uneven exposure is most likely a result of dried/clogged lubricant.
@@zabtej1645 that would be true if the curtain would be moving vertically looking at the picture shown in the example. the exposure difference would show in in horizontal direction.. 7 years and still working fine. Used almost daily..
Nice video. Some notes: 1. One should cover the inside part of the lens (around 17:34, some paint could have gotten on the lens through the middle hole). 2. You could use simple masking tape instead of cutting a sheet in the beginning, and cover up the camera with masking tape. 3. In the USA the spray I use is called "Plasti-Dip" but you should let it dry for at least 5 days otherwise it stays tacky. 4. Instead of keeping your finger pressed on the trigger to clean the inside, you can just turn the T pose ring at the base of the trigger to keep the shutter open for as long as you want without having to press. And finally, if you know how to repair the shutter when the shutter gets stuck (shutter doesn't come back in front of the film to mask the film), I am interested in a tutorial for that! Thanks
