That D700 really proving is more about the photographer, and to a good extent good glass. I see so many people buying D850s or high end mirrorless cameras, upgrading from a crop sensor with kit lenses. But then they ask why their photos look bad, and it's a combination of not having good glass, and them not knowing how to use their gear. As for me, I got a D810 about a month ago, for just over 600 usd. Combined with my 70-200mm, 24-70mm, and 50mm 1.8, all bought used, I'm pretty set, and I can't really think of any excuse to not go out and shoot

Fantastic video! It was great to see the D700 still delivering images comparable to current cameras. That 105 mm f1.4 e is a killer lens. The video was also a reminder that a camera though impactful, is one of multiple elements needed to deliver a great final product. Hiking, heat, and bugs; art clearly also requires a force of will.

Agreed. Canceled my original, standing Z8 pre-order, as it really didn't offer anything relevant to ME over my Z9. I like that I can finish an event on my single Z9's battery, and backup is just THAT (A BACKUP) rather than needed by night's end. So I'd rather find a GOOD deal on another used Z9 (Don't need to worry about shutter wear) when one pops up eventually as backup rather than z6 series (though they have excellent low-light performance once you learn the tricks(s) to grab focus) bodies. In the mean-time, I'm using the cameras I have quite happily.

I love my Nikon Z 7II. I use it as my everything camera, from portrait, landscape, candid, and even some sports. Yes, it could be better, like Z9 or maybe Z8, but it's doable as long as you know what you are doing with the camera. Sure, the autofocus isn't on par with the like of Z9 or maybe Z8, but again it's doable. Z 7II will get it done, it's a good enough camera, and I've had it since the launch, which was the most expensive camera I've owned (being disabled can hardly get any money, so it's a huge investment for me - yes I am a disabled photographer). Won't be able to get or afford another camera for a year or two more years. I think that my Z 7ii will be good enough until 1-2 years later when I save up to finally get a generation of Z8 or Z9, whatever that is, in 1-2 years unless someone donates me a new Z9 or even Z8 (can only dream!). I'll shut up and go shoot some! Great video!

Very good point Matt. I think with all the new releases, people have become so obsessed with gear that they forget that really its the shooting and the resulting images that are more important, how you get there, or what brand you use, is not as important.
