The sublime singing of Maria Callas, and in this version of this aria, perhaps her best, one cannot help but be touched by her unique voice, her mastering of conveying the special emotion that is demanded by Mimi's description of herself. And in that magnificent crescendo that begins at minute 2:35 of this recording, Callas is totally dramatic and perfect in her vocal delivery. As one carefully listens to so much sung by this immortal soprano, one can never deny to oneself that she is perhaps the most perfect opera singer of all time, and thanks to the existing collection of her recorded repertoire, she lives and sings in our hearts forever. How grateful we are, Maria Callas!
@@rickierosso221 no, i think so too. this moment so huge, big and epic. Genius Puccini wrote it with so much love and awe. Such moments can be counted on fingers. This is one of them.
@@ИванКомолых-с3ъ Puccini is absolutely incredible and his works are all masterpieces. But what I mean is that I dont like Maria Callas, the way she sounds here.
You make a very bold statement, Alesya which really needs some back up, some justification. Who are these singers? In what way are they better? Please, compare the techniques of these singers with that of Callas, also their use of portamento, their colouring or phrasing. Which of them can create the moment that we hear Callas make at around 2.30? I look forward to your reply!
