Tivemos a sorte de estar em Paris, em 2010, quando o Woody Allen ali fazia as filmagens de seu "Minuit à Paris", com essa magnífica canção ("Si tu vois ma mère"), de abertura, exalando toda a arte e sensibilidade de Sidney Bechet, que embora originário de New Orleans, passou grande parte da vida na capital francesa, onde foi sepultado na comuna de Garches (como o filósofo frascês Henri Bergson). Parabéns a esse trio tão talentoso, na recriação desse histórico e celebrado "hit" de Bechet para a eternidade.

the little lick at 2:25 with the dissonant chromatic buildup and that last note @ 2:31 really just does it for me. Having lost my mother, this sequence really accurately depicts how it feels to miss her for some reason. It's like the clarinet is asking a question it don't wanna know the answer to, then the pain realizing that what it feared is the actual truth.
