This Siai Marchetti SF-260 is a 1630mm (wingspan) balsa and plywood model based on the Air Combat USA color scheme. It can be powered by electric motors or Nitro engines. Your choice.
The SF-260 is built by the Italian firm, Siai Marchetti (now Leonardo) and was designed by Stelio Frati. It first flew on 15 July 1964. It was marketed as a military trainer and/or aerobatics aircraft. It has been sold to a large number of Air Forces as well as the civilian market.
It is a stable flyer but still has aerobatic performance and should suit the enthusiastic pilot. Choose your own powerplant to get the performance you require. It comes complete with servoless electric retracts to give that clean look when in the air. It comes with flaps to help slow it down for an easy landing.

Oh yeah my friend. We were flying every evening now for 6 days. Didnt do that for more then 3 years now. But we did film quick video tonight that I will post tomorrow. Speed test of sexi Buffalo racer. With 4S setup that baby is really one of the best racers in my hangar.

You will LOVE flying this plane , the tip tanks are designed to prevent tip-stall and aid low speed handling . You will , however , have to re-calibrate your controls for warp speed ! This is a Frati design , and as such is meant to go like stink on ‘some’ horsepower ! Congratulations on a beautiful bargain, Salute!! 👍😃

Air Combat is a company that uses the real planes like this, they offer basic combat, dogfight rides to the public. It's like Lazer tag with sport aircraft. I don't know if they are still in buisness, I have seen a pair of these planes at a airshow awhile ago. The real ones are fast and pretty aerobatic. Capt Blaz is getting worked up to go from 10cc to 15cc. LOL! I love it. LOL!! "YOU WILL GO BLIND" oh man, coffee on my shirt Oh we go new enteries in the technical terms dictionary. Natch Mutch "I am so aroused" Another classic unboxing. SALUTE!! Captain Blaz has a wrench in his pocket.

Much much better than the giant P-40, in every way! The SF260 is one of the best aviation designs of our time, highly underrated. I am building a fullsize single-seat LSA based on the SIAI /LoPresti legend called the Carbon Kite

They have pretty good stuff and for good price if you know what you are looking for. There are stores close to us in Austria but the prices are so high.

Robert...... Blaz, I was really saddened when you said it was time to stop filming. However I fully understood why you took the decision to fly for your own enjoyment. I can imagine the pressure to produce new videos whilst working flat out and spending time with your respective families was just too much. I cannot tell you how happy I am to see you return! Maybe guys, it would be best to film "if" you want to, not because you "have" to. Please don't ever feel pressured to release new videos. The subscribers will wait and be patient and would prefer to see you happy about filming periodically than losing you and your fantastic commentaries forever. Big thumbs up from England 👍

We were just flying now for six days every evening and it was so great. Just us friends, planes and no camera. But to tell you the truth I did miss the babbling on the camera so we did film quick video today and I will post it tomorrow before we go on vacation. Congrats, the SIAI is a truly gorgeous airplane, cant wait for maiden! BTW- I uploaded a maiden flight of my SAAB Viggen on tom heetderks youtube channel with a shout out to you and Blaz- it ended up being a maiden flight and not the maiden crash, OH YEAH!! very fun jet to fly, just upgraded my Freewing Yak 130 with FMS fan, and put the old motor and fan in it, but just run it on 4S. Perfect sunset flight.

"Choke the turkey!" You guys are hilarious! Air Combat USA is a company here in the US that puts airplane enthusiasts in the cockpit with an instructor pilot, and allows them to simulate air combat with another plane. AFAIK, the USAF has no Savoia Marchetti trainer aircraft. That Saito FA 100T would be perfect inside that cowling!

Very nice plane, you can use magnets for the canopy. Can't wait to see it fly. I have a VQ Yak 9. Not so happy with the quality and it is far from rtf, that is why I haven't finished it yet. But nice plane overall when all put together.

I like the gas engine because you don't have to cut the cowl as much. But you still have to consider cooling. So here is my free, unsolicited suggestion. For proper cooling a cowl usually needs to have an air outlet area 3 or 4 times the inlet area. (Because it actually works better to suck the air through rather than try and blow it.) A good way to do that is usually just cut a big hole in the bottom of the cowl at the rear. However, this plane has a nice scale scoop on the bottom. So maybe two holes to the side of it, or something like that? Also, it will help if you cover up the front inlet that does not have the engine cylinder behind it.

OH YEAH :) this will be a damn good plane .yes a 15cc saito or even similar in gas engine would work very well with this bird.. the suggested 10cc engine on the box Would fly it but it would be minimal at best, a little extra power is fine in this type of plane... Just might need to look closely at the retract mounts, as MOST arf type models are usually pretty weak in this area ..also if you DO use that gas engine you might need to make a baffle to direct the incoming air over the cylinder head cooling fins as it WILL get hot inside the cowling unless it has decent baffles ..to direct the air properly ..but what the heck :) you will work it out if the engine runs poorly ... :) Another brilliant Video again Guys, Well done :) Salutes to you Both :) Cheers and ALL the best :) Gary

That Model shipped to Australia without the motor is $470 so your lucky you can get it a lot cheaper
