An excellent reminder to find your own rhythm in life - no one else is going to find that rhythm for you.

After watching it a couple times, my takeaway of the meaning is that cutting off toxic friendships can be healthy for you, but don't hurt your good friends in the process. Take the good friends, cut out the bad ones, and build yourself a new, better circle. Great song!

Great message for kids and people still growing mentally. Learn to live life the way you find it most comfortable and rewarding. There is no need to be like other people or share the people around you's interest or habits or force yourself to like them. My personal advice too is to keep exploring new habits and hobbies to get experience and know what really is your preferred way of living your life ( don't just do whatever you found others doing, explore more into yourself)

I've been a fan of SIAMÉS for years now, and they continue to prove themselves quite capable and likable! This video gives off Princess Mononoke vibes, and the music reminds me that our pain is not forever, we can choose to be reborn after conflict and strife takes it's toll on us.

The adversary and pain in life is not permanent, but once one can rebuild themselves they are fortified to walk their own way forward.

Idk how everyone is missing the Cult of Diana connections omg. The alter with the pomegranate and strawberry and berries offering, the literal statue of Diana. The inverse of Diana being hunted and instead the girls doing the hunting. There’s so much symbology packed into this video music, great job!

I won't pretend I understand what is going on fully, but here are some interesting things I caught: The protagonist is a new initiate to whatever group the blonde and the braided girl make up of/are part of. The other two girls, though, don't seem to be initiated since they don't have the characteristic makeup or nail polish and appear to be wearing more casual/less fashionable clothing. Instead, they seem to be intended as the prey for the hunt from the beginning. Since they appear friendly towards the other characters (and actually cheerful rather than the ominous emotionless expressions of the other girls), they're probably friends with the other girls, likely they could be the old friends of the protagonist before she got into the new group. Pay attention to rings and nail polish colour. The blonde girl has two rings, one in each hand, the protagonist has a single ring on her index finger. Protag has lilac nails, blonde has yellow and braided girl has blue. You can use these to figure out whose hands are whose. I'm not sure if it's an art error or intentional, but when we see the protagonist slash the white-yellow-shirt girl, she strikes at her left, but then we see her body wounded at the right. Also, in the strike shot, he shirt appears blue, so that was confusing for me, but the yellow parts are distinctly there. There seems to be some symbolism to eyes, possibly related to the cult, and we see at some point the protagonist retrieving her dagger from a carving of an eye, possibly hinting she was from the start going to go against the cult. The photos at the end are not photos of the dead girls, but of the previous leaders. There's one of the blond girl and one of a long-hair girl that's not similar to any of the characters we've seen. There's also a shady figure one. All three have the locket though. There seems to be some meaning to the sheer shirts being worn by various girls. The protagonist has one, the blond girl has one, and the new girl at the end has one. Edit: Also, if anyone is wondering when the protagonist got the dagger from the braided girl like I was, you can see at 2:51 there were actually two daggers, so she had her own all along. To try to get a conclusion out of this, and working on top of what counter_coffee already pointed out: I think the surface story is about some sort of high school murder cult, wherein initiates hunt other girls upon initiation. But the allegory below that seems to speak about the protagonist joining a circle of "cool girls" and the trouble that brings. Her old friends while cheerful and apparently welcome at first are eventually scared by the new friend. In the process, the old friends are hurt by the new and even the protagonist herself hurts them and drives them away. In the end, the protagonist listens to the doubts she's always had (lyrics seems to indicate some frustration towards the cool girls' advice and _their_ way; we also see instances through the clip where she's not completely bought into the whole thing) and turns on the leader of her new friend group. The other friend, who is probably more of a follower, lashes out at her at first, but when she witnesses the inner strength the now confident protagonist exudes, she changes her mind and is able to redeem herself as well. The two stay together and they can experience rebirth as they can expand their now healthier friend group with new people. That is of course if we don't use a cyclical reading of the story, wherein the protagonist replaces the blond girl, the new girl at the end becomes the new initiate and the whole story repeats. As for the animals showing up throughout. Other than strengthening the hunt metaphor, I have no idea what they're supposed to be about.

Having watched through this multiple times, I think what I get from this is a message to always listen to yourself above all else. Don't blindly follow the orders and will of someone who says they have your best interest but ends up only wishing to mold you into the version of yourself THEY want to see. It can lead to turning into a person you don't recognize anymore, putting you in a situation where you end up hurting the ones around you until you cut yourself off from the source, though you're still in danger of continuing the cycle afterward unless someone (or yourself) puts a stop to it. But also being able to recognize that, deal with all the pain and difficulties and move on with those who truly cared about you.

This is such an amazing video, it has deep and rich themes. A lot of people mention Ghibli/Mononoke vibes, which I think is close - but it misses the obvious Artemis references. It isn't coincidental that all the characters are girls, after all Artemis was a virgin and appreciated feminine beauty. It's also why the central conflict is a ritualistic hunt, because the goddess of the Moon is the goddess of the hunt. And just like the Moon has its phases of death and rebirth, these girls experience it through ritual too.

This is my preferred version. Something richer with the added synth backtrack.

A new Siamés animated music video, me be happy, me be grateful

The nails are some interesting identifying cues: Bob (I'm just going to call some of the characters by their hair) starts with unpainted nails. Pig-tails has violet nails throughout the video. Blondie has red nails. During the initial grooming, PT injures Bob, who goes on to also have violet nail polish for the rest of the story. Next up, we see scenes from the future: - Right after the kill, with Bob wearing one blue earring - PT grabbing Bob's hand as she reaches for the medallion - PT painting Bob's nails again, (Bob has a snake ring on her left index) - Bob getting stabbed in the arm Back in the present, Bob refuses further grooming by PT, as their future prey arrives. Their appearance is in stark contrast to the meticulous getup of the coven. During the picnic, there's a peculiar moment of Blondie sharing the wine with the outsiders. This is followed not only by the realization, that they are the main course, but also a shot of the blue earring Bob is supposedly going to wear in the future. The girl, notedly, is wearing only a single earring. The hunt begins and PT catches her prey before we get a flashback of Bob spying on Blondie during the preparations. She goes on to follow her prey, though you see a certain half-heartedness in her. The next shot is quite weird again, like an out-of-frame movie recording. There's a flash of eyes in the mirror, although it passes quickly. Next up is a flashback of Bob eyeing the blue earring during the picnic. She goes on to kill her prey with her hand - or to be precise, her manicured "talons". PT butchering the other girl. Flashback of Bob picking up the knife on her dresser. Bob has little regard for the dead girl, from whose blood lotuses bloom - a symbol of purity, for what it's worth. The shot of her victim is noteworthy in that it cuts off right below the ear, so you can't see if she has the earring. She leaves and is seen by PT. The "confrontation" happens but before she meets Blondie, we get a shot of Bob's victim - who still has the earring. Bob refused the trophy. PT's victim, on the other hand, has had the golden loop earring ripped from her ear. Bob extends her arms as if to embrace, hiding the as-of-yet-unused dagger in her hand. Flashes of cryptic images (you can use, and . on the keyboard to go frame by frame): - Blondie bleeding from the back in front of the two-headed deer - Bob, with one hand severed, petting the doe drinking blood spilled by the blade - PT, with the buck next to her, reaching for the tainted blade in front of an image of the two-headed deer being separated again Bob goes on to stab Blondie in the back who in turn dissolves into a fray of hair. It looks, for a moment, like PT understands that she has chosen victory over lesser prey. Bob reaches for the medallion, her trophy, as buck and doe entwine. The incense on her dresser has burned out and the flower in her mirror blooms. PT severs Bob's hand as she reaches for the medallion. Magic stuff happens, the buckdoe twists, and it seems like the buckdoe spirit enters her stump through the magic. A scar remains, but the hand is remade. In the background, we see a wisened buck with larger antlers. PT, witness to all that, presents Bob with the medallion - her rightful prize - over the weird blue flower I don't recognize. Bob and PT light incense at the dresser and we finally see the picture on the dresser was the previous owner of the medallion before Blondie. In the corner of the frame, a photo of the owner before that. Now, a new frame graces the dresser: Blondie. We can also see that they went back to the blue earring and took it still. "Waste not, want not", I guess. There's also a purple bug earring, which I'm fairly sure I saw in a previous music video. A blonde girl, wearing a choker like Blondie and a see-through blouse like both Blondie and Bob, is ringing at the same door Bob stood in front of at the beginning of the story, followed by the title card "Rebirth", indicating her to be the part in the circle.

A way I interpret this in line with something I have gone through: - The blonde and her two disciples are an abusive girl and a pair of innocents she manipulates into hurting others. - One of the disciples has been with the abuser a long time, but the other one has only just earned the abuser's trust. - The two new girls wanted to be friends with the three of them, but the abusive girl wanted to isolate her two victims. - The disciples were told to hurt and drive away the new friends, and they did because the abuser had hold over them. - One of the disciples recognizes what she has been driven to do and turns against her abuser, cutting her out of their group. - The other girl, still sure that the abuser is good and trustworthy, lashes out against the betrayer for making this decision alone. - Both girls witness how much the one who turned away from the abuser bloomed. It was magic to be away from her. - Even the wound the one inflicted on the other heals with no more than a scar, so beautiful is this new freedom. - The girls both reach true friendship, and the one who cut off the abuser becomes the new leader. And in the end, a touch that really hit hard with me: - The blonde becomes an initiate in a new group. She has a new chance to grow and be reborn. This lines up with experiences that changed who I was as a person when I went through them, both as the blonde and her disciple. I've been on both sides, and in both there is hope and renewal, and a chance for things to become better. This is a beautiful song, and a beautiful video. Well made on all sides.

Since the band lost its original lead singer, I was a bit worried about the progression of the band from here on out. But I think this song really proves that the style and the uniqueness of SIAMES is being preserved even without the original lead vocalist. Great work overall

I find it so interesting that my takeway wasn't that she was cutting off a toxic friendship and standing up for herself, but that she was continuing a tradition of killing the leader of the coven (the imagery of the packhound becoming the stag which are commonly used as icons of kings and leaders) to become the leader herself while her own possible inheritor was hinted at the end, continuing the cycle of hunter/hunted

It's incredible that this video doesn't have at least 20 million views.

My god, the art on this one is outstanding! The sharpness, the gloss, those shines and gentle hand figures! So fluuuuid, smoooth, so calculated, its stylish and simple, with gorgeous imagery and a tastefull color palette chosen. Even the grainy filter over background layers is pleasant to the eyes. Nothing more than blessings to the music too, but we all knew Siames are a master at their craft, and they delivered on this track. I will be revisiting, im gonna greatly enjoy playing it and pausing and repeating along the video and getting myself some desktop wallpapers. Amazing piece!

The animation truly is magnificent

It seems like this animation follows one of my favorite kind of plots - a coven-like society that's more than meets the eye. After getting initiated, only then do newcomers go through the true rite of passage -- an event where they all hunt other people, and the strongest survive. As such, new people adopt old ways -- the way all girls in the coven started doing their make up the same, same eyshadow and brow shape. The main heroine chooses to kill the leader instead after commencing her first kill, thus instead of becoming one of her people she gets her powers as the leader (regrows her hand, for instance). Then in the end we see a new girl join the ranks, but instead of "initiation", the plaque spells "rebirth" -- the winner changed societys ways to how she does things. Also, in the beginning incense is burned in front of the small mirror -- as if to symbolise mourning old self heroine needs to give up to join the coven, and in the end incense is burned before photos of girls who died on the hunt, including the leader. You can say this way leaders murder wasn't really personal -- just what needed to be done to pave heroines own way.

I seriously cannot express how much I love every single song this band makes. Somehow they always feels so fresh but with that signature siames flare.

I think I finally get the message here! The goal of the initiation is for the coven to recruit people who think for themselves. so when the main character realizes she was wrong to attack the innocent girl and instead goes after the coven leader, the coven leader accepts her into the fold for being able to think for herself!

I started listening to you guys music a year ago when I first heard "The Wolf." and ever since I've absolutely loved the music you create! I like this song a lot and I think y'all killed it and I can see the message that was put into this video and song. I don't know why, but the moment at 1:15 when she slowly launches herself into pursuit is PEAK

I relate to this song a lot from being bottom of the class because i couldnt learn much of the content teachers were teaching, it was too difficult so i started working backwards and teaching myself, ended up in top set by the end of secondary school and some teachers accusing me of cheating and trying to stop me learning the way i was. Because i had to use their methods for succsess not my own. Other kids called me dumb but in the end sticking it out my way was the best way forward.

The bob girl is the Saluki (Canine), the pigtails girl is the Gazelle and the blonde girl is the Buck.

Extremely excited.

I feel like there is a lot about envy considering beauty in here. Our main girl, with the see-through shirt and hairclip, starts off with blond girl and the pigtail girl, who immediately begin fussing over her looks and giving her a make over. Everything pretty is sparkly (!) for emphasis. This includes the forest animals, which to me all have unicorn vibes. You know, the whole 'white and pure' stereotype. (The Canine is Main Girl, the Deer is Blondie, the Gazelle is Pigtails and the Casual girls are the rabbit(s), I think.) Also, I love the imagery of pushing back cuticles until they bleed, the whole 'no pain, no gain' motto. In the second part, main girl stops one of the girls from plucking her eyebrows as her (?) other friends show up, who wear what I see as casual clothes and also sit more casually on the picnic blanket. In the animal scene, a Rabbit shows up where the Gazelle and Deer are drinking, and with the perspective, the gleaming eye we see there is that of the rabbit, which is followed up by the gleam on Snake-Shirt's earring. She looks pretty worried here and Blondie starts to look very warped and scary. (This part made me thnk the Gazelle and Deer were the casual girls at first, though two dead rabbits show up in the title card and considering their fates, I assume the Rabbit was them. Meaning that maybe, Blondie felt threatened, like the casual girls might be envious of her?) Pigtails clearly is envious when she goes after the earring Green Sweater girl is wearing - which looks nice and glittery when they go down. Main girl does not seem to go after Snake-Shirt as intensely as Pigtails, but she is also appreciating (?) her earring - also glittery - though Snake-Shirt looks more like she is flattered. However, both casual friends are killed by Pigtails and Main Girl, but only Green Sweater had her earring torn out by Pigtails, who then turns her gaze to Main Girl. I love the title card for Confrontation, great foreshadowing! It has what I think is a canine going after a stags throat on it, and I think it's interesting that there is also a snake curled around the dagger above them, and the little hourglass in the corner. Gives me a feeling of: 'In time, they will turn on each other.' There are also those few very quick images, the first with Blondie looking at a mural of two merging creatures (later seen to be Canine/Main Girl and Stag/Blondie).The second, Main Girl and the canine (It is her, Blondies hands were 'showing off' both the canine and her the same way earlier), it's mouth dripping blood (the title card from before had her ripping out the deers throat) and her hand cut off, with a dagger below that looks as if she dropped it. The mural behind her is the same Blondie was looking at. Pigtails however, is reaching for a dagger in front of a mural depicting the Gazelle, which is also next to her, cutting off the Canine's paw with a dagger. The Stag is dead in a corner of the mural. Great foreshadowing for what happens next. Main Girl backstab Blondie, goes to grab her necklace to put on, which makes Pigtails cut that hand off. However, it regrows, presumably because Blondie is gone? And Blondie's necklace is passed on to Main Girl, which the photos on the table show seems to be tradition of sorts? And now there are two girls waiting for the Lamb/Bun Girl in the last shot to come to them to be prettied up, I guess? That's all I caught, sorry for the long comment, but it was a delicious analysis :D

This song helped me so much when I was deciding on what I wanted to study. People around mocked me daily and tried to change my choice to theirs, and at first it worked. But then I found this song, and it gave me the strength to endure them. Wow. Just, WOW! I am absolutely stunned by this video. The vibrant colors, the flowing art style, the hidden meanings and imagery. It has blown me away! Anyways, here's my detailed take on this video: - Opening clip, and there's a lot to look at. Seems like a young lady (who we are going to call Bret) is getting ready for some sort of night out or séance with her friends (Who I will call Fawn and The Matriarch), who are represented by white deer. Bret is also represented as such, we can tell by the "Initiation" placard (the deer in the middle; 0:05). We also see rabbits seeming to watch from afar (bottom of the "Initiation placard"). Were they her old friends? Are they new victims? - As we watch on, we see a fourth girl (Who I will call Lepus), running from the beginning three, 0:32. She and another girl (Who I will call Hare) are seen in plainer clothing, waving hello through a window, dressed less elegant than the others, 0:56. Initially, Lepus and Hare are welcomed into the (Coven? Cult? Friend group?) and are having a picnic with cake, wine, grapes, oranges/grapefruit, peaches, and even gelatin, 0:58. In that specific scene, The Matriarch (blond, long haired girl with yellow gem necklace and ring) is holding a rabbit, signifying that the girls have Lepus and Hare in her grasp. - It's too late. Lepus and Hare flee in realization that they are not welcomed, but lured into a trap, 1:11. The Matriarch orders the two to be eliminated. Lepus is caught by Bret and is dealt a gaping gash on her side, perhaps signifying that the deer form is a visage to mask something more sinister? Hare is also lifeless, who was caught by Fawn. We see with her head off. - As the Bret regrets what she has done, she goes to confront the Matriarch, 1:41 - 1:58 Three quick scenes are shown in quick succession depicting the Matriarch with a stabbed back viewing an image of two entwined deer (her prediction of usurpation?). Followed by the Bret having her hand cut off (seemingly the one who stabbed the Matriarch.) And lastly, the Fawn watching it all take place. - Bret eliminates the Matriarch and goes to pick up her necklace. The Twin Deer we see in this scene 2:16, starts to writhe and combine. Watching from afar, Fawn picks up a knife and cuts off Bret's hand. To Fawn's surprise, Bret's hand regrows back in a spew of blood and flower petals. Bret is now the New Matriarch as the smile on her face confirms it. Fawn hands Bret the necklace and puts it on 2:46 - They light a new incense on a table with pictures of past Matriarchs (we can also see an earring from "All The Best" in this scene! 2:52) Another girl knocks at the door and is let in, right after, a card is shown called "Rebirth". Perhaps this means finally breaking the cycle of oppression and leading into a new cycle of support. *Take note that through the scenes, flowers play a silent role. For instance at **0:09**, the flower (an Iris flower, I think??) in the bottom right hand corner is closed and seems wilted, symbolizing the toxic power The matriarch has held over the other members of the group. As the video goes on, Bret changes and so does the flower. It opens up at **2:19** and **2:54* Thanks for reading! Remember, this is just my take on it, it is NOT official!

totally underrated! I hope the algorithm is in favor, it is a beautiful animation and not to mention that reassuring voice of Barbie, I also loved her in "Always the same", they have done another great work as always.

I think I see people becoming their own in this; the same three friends seem to begin and end the story (the stag, the goat and I’ll confess I’m not sure which animal the third is) so we all have cycles of rebirth where it’s necessary to do your work yourself, with your own hands. And if people are good and understand, they’ll come back to you.

Instantly fell in love with the sound, lyrics, and the animation.

In the autel we can see a few interesting details : -The pictures of the former leader of this sect, with the necklace. Each one were killed by a member of the trio who then become the new leader. It's a never ending cycle. -The jewellery of the sacrifices who were killed in the forest for the ritual. It is why there is such a focus on the two victims earings. I think each leader's conciousness fuses with the killer, creating somewhat of an hive mind with dark powers. After stabbing the former leader, the new one get her hand cut of by the third member, and it grows back, showing that the spirit of the former leader still reside in her. Other interesting detail, the blonde girl (former leader) wears long sleves, so we can't see the scars on her hand. But she must have done the same ritual. This is a cycle. At each ritual, two victims are killed, one member of the trio gives her position as a leader. At the end, a new recruit join the sect as it takes three person to complete the ritual.

This animation is just mind-blowing. Everything is beautiful. I wish there was a whole movie like this.
