SIB Fishing Set Up part 3 - Truekit Discovery 330. Transom Riser. The outboard engine was sitting to low in the water so I've raised the Transom height by two inches and added a DIY permatrim and also had the propeller cupped.
The aluminium sheet I used was from ebay

The stainless steel I already had and the propeller was cupped by streamlinedpro...

I don’t understand why they can’t make the transom so the motors just work out of the box. Is it due to variance between manufacturers? I mean they know the length the motor will be. Why would they not be able to test it and line it all up?

Thanks, the cupped prop has lowered the engine revs a bit which I’m OK with, I got no ventilation at all. I still think the engine would benefit from being higher though, I’ll see how it goes over the next few trips 😀

Was going to do similar to my 6hp, but with the engine being small - sub 9hp, many said it wouldn't be worth it.....

That’s what I’ve heard as well mate, mines back in Lynch’s it was serviced last month but kept cutting out at low revs when I was out on Wednesday 😡

Hi, the nuts and bolts used by the manufacturer to attach the transom wheels are Stainless Steel, I've used silicone as a barrier between the two and the Aluminium surface area is greater than that of the Stainless Steel so hopefully this will be OK. 🙂

Hi, I don’t get any ventilation now and raising the engine has definitely helped, I’m not sure if the cupped prop alone will suffice, I’m thinking of trying it by itself with out the permatrim 👍🏻
