I just received my copy today. Absolutely fantastic - the wide variety of songs - each played with crystal clarity, and total originality. This is really a must have CD.
I strongly encourage people to go out and purchase their Sibelius Folk Big Band CD. Its full of gems that are not to be found on RU-vid, and that certainly deserve a wider audience. This particular song included. On that note, the clarity of this song on the CD is quite superb, though I will say this particular video has to be my favorite version of this song, as I like the structure with the three soloist singing individual parts, as opposed to other versions where all the verses are sung as a group.
I have listened to this four times now. This is so beautiful!!! It is also a treat for me to hear the Finnish language as I grew up with parents and grandparents whom spoke Finnish.I would love to obtain a CD of their music. Wonderful!! Thank you for posting.
I contacted the Sibelius academy two or three months ago with an inquiry as to if any of their Siba Folk Big Band recordings were available on CD. The answer at the time was no, but they were open to possibility of producing something in the future. Maybe with some more encouragement they will pull something together. Performances such as this a quite polished and beautiful. I also like some of their more frenzied works such as: watch?v=W5QiOCG6YWk watch?v=nW__QgM9-RU watch?v=JOgbhMbuDTM
