My Norwegian mix made it to 19 years and was an indoor / outdoor cat for all that time. She was also a terrific hunter and kept the neighborhood critters looking over their shoulders.
Thank you for this video, I have 3 Siberian and 1 Norwegian, which I often thought to be correct, Your video just proved my point. Without this info they are VERY difficult to distinguish from one another :)
@@T-roc57 yes siberians have a lot of personalities and super smart, after some time you forget they are cats and treat them like little humans. I got 2 siberian cats.
I have a hard time telling if my cat is a Norwegian forest cat or a Siberian forest cat. He could be a mixed breed I guess. He is very fluffy and super soft. He is tabby on his back but has white paws and a white chest. Someone gave him to me as a kitten last spring. I was surprised when the summer was over because he began growing a big ruffled collar and what look like fluffy snow pants. Also, he's got a ton of hair between his toes which make little snow shoes for him to keep his paws warm in our Canadian winters. He is also really smart, loving and affectionate. He will fetch and give high fives for treats and kisses just for fun. He's kind of like a dog in that he always comes when I call him and he follows me from room to room. He loves hunting and regularly brings me gifts from outside. The profile of his nose has more of a scoop than a straight line like a Norwegian but he has more of a triangle shape than rounded shaped face. Oh.. and I am not allergic to him except when he sheds his excess fur (which takes about a week after the winter ends). He's got quite a husky frame but the vet says he's not overweight. I would love to find out one day though we'll love him just the same regardless of where he's from.
I'm pretty sure my daughter's cat is Norwegian he's a bit of an A hole though, he's a bully to my old girls and will straight up attack the one, she'll be happily minding her own business and he will attack her, not in a playful way either, like a "I'm gonna mess you up" way 😔
