Have you done SIBO treatment with antibiotics? What did you learn, OR do you have questions about what you learned? Tell me or ask me in the comments!

Antibiotics failed but they were the wrong kind. I just had a battery of tests and hopefully some solution is forthcoming. My understanding of IBO is the usual rifx/ neomycin has limited efficacy. The breath test was damaged or exposed to heat and was unreadable. Do you know of any other tests that can provide a more reliable diagnosis? Either way I will share with you the outcome and what if anything worked.
@ConfluenceNutrition
@ConfluenceNutrition 2 года назад
@@richardworker9280 Hi Richard, the breath test is the most accessible test. The gold standard test is aspiration and biopsy of material from the small intestine during endoscopy, so not very fun or accessible. And even then, the samples are only from the closer end of the small intestine. SIBO can be anywhere throughout the small intestine. I would suggest repeating the test collection if you can. I know it's a pain, but it's a very helpful diagnostic. Good luck!

Good video. I just sent my first breath test last week and am anxious to get the results back. I've noticed a some what pounding heart beat when I take PAGG too and feel bloated also. One of the things on my radar has been vitamin B1, being low in b1 can cause a slow down of your gut motility, and for me it makes sense. Some of the reasons I've heard for being low in b1 are , coffee, stress, High carb diet, over exercising, and alcohol. So far I like what it's been do for me and only been on it for 4 days.I have worked up to taking 300mg of befotiamine twice a day. Looking forward to your follow up testing video!

I’m not an expert but a fellow sufferer. I do know it can cause malabsorption. For me it caused B12 deficiency ( all b vitamins really but b 12 mostly). Same thing with the fat soluble vitamins. Vitamin shots seemed to help but I had to avoid my digestive tract.

Update: I just got the results back!! My days of never ending darkness are numbered, I officially am likely to have sibo, all tho it is not methane like I thought its still a marker from where Im going to start. I have a comprehensive stool test im sending in later this week which is just an added bonus to see if anything else pops up. Hydrogen levels at 80 min and 120 mins were 25 and 48. Combined were 31 and 56 and a peak at 160 min at 65 hydrogen and 75 combined.

THat's interesting about the vitamin B1, I am not aware of that...keep me posted on your progress with that. And your increased heartbeat with sunfiber and bloating may be signaling a histamine problem...I have several videos about that.
@fR_eN
@fR_eN 3 года назад
@@ConfluenceNutrition Will do. It was not an increase in heart rate, just a pounding heart rate like I could feel and aware of it more, and just restless in general from the sunfiber. It would be time well spent if you went down the youtube rabbit hole about B1 to see what you find. Tests are expensive ,but to test it out and spend like 14$ on vitamins and see if there is any improvement is just cheap. One of the main things I've noticed, is that I have poor recovery from activity and I'll just a have a high heart rate like 95 bpm 3 hours after and beyond the activity. After a couple of days my heart rate doing the sames stuff is in the mid 70's and resting hr is low 60's now. For me, It's been a game changer.

Can black salt stimulate gall bladder for bile like bitters? Can undigested foods creates toxins for liver? Please give effects of toxic liver upon skin and digestive system?
@ConfluenceNutrition
@ConfluenceNutrition 2 года назад
I'm not sure what black salt is, so I don't have an answer for your there. Can undigested food create toxins for the liver? Indirectly, and most especially if you have a leaky gut barrier. If the liver gets backed up, or overburdened, itchy skin or rashes are a common symptom, as well as acne (though that can have other causes). In the gut, we would see nausea, especially with constipation, as well as sensitivity to odors. Thanks for the questions, does that help?

I'm fairly new to figuring this all out. My first round of rifaximin was used with metronidazole to focus on a bacterial issue. Then I had one week off, then a second round of rifaximin with a biofilm buster. Because I started eliminating dairy and greens as much sugar as I could, a lot of my inflammation went down. While I'm on the rifaxamin, I feel good. I learned that red meat really slows my MMC and constipation is a big issue for me. I believe my SIBO may have been caused by a number of things. I also was treated for endometriosis, about 30 years ago. So aging, two or three laparoscopies, travelers diarrhea, eating patterns with "keto approved sugar substitutes" after extended fasts are part of my story. 🤪 I just finished my round two yesterday, and I'm not sure I'm any better off than I was before round 1- so time will tell!

Hi Healing Vibes, I'm sorry to hear of your troubles, it sounds uncomfortable. Your acne and bad breath could definitely be connected, as well as your hypothyroidism. There can be a lot of root causes for each of these issues, and figuring out what to address takes a methodical approach. This means developing ideas about what might be involved, and then testing your theories. For example, does shifting your diet away from carbs help? Do probiotics improve things? I'll be running a training program starting at the end of september to teach how to do this... let me know if you'd like to learn more about that.

Hi there, they don't, the simply supplement. It's like a crutch. Encouraging the body to create it's own acid is via relaxed eating, good chewing, making sure you have sufficient vitamin B12 and zinc, clearing any infections that might be present as they can disrupt acid production, or handling any autoimmunity that might be present. @@forceawakens9386 cider vinegar and betaine HCL are themselves acidic, so they replace missing or deficient stomach acid. They do not stimulate or increase productoin of your own acid. To do that, good chewing and relaxation during meals is helpful, along with good amounts of vitamin B12 and zinc. I just did one course it is working very effectively what I have understood is 1. Sibo mainly occurs due to sluggish gut motility which occurs due to impaired mmc (migrating motor complex) MMC gets immense benefits from intermittent fasting which enhances gut motility Don't rely on PROKINETICS 2. Skip breakfast every day (according to Ayurveda) follow two meal a day diet next best thing is skip dinner do anyone I have just did only one course and after 3 days the benefits were gone I thought I had to do one more course but I just tried skipping break fast it boosted my health immensely

Hello Vamsi, it's true that SIBO is very closely related to the MMC and intermittent fasting can support the MMC. I do have client who use this method to help. Unfortunately, IF doesn't work for everyone, some people (like myself in fact!) do very poorly with fasting, and this can cause other harm, to hormones, thyroid function, and sleep. If fasting isn't possible, lengthening times between meals, and making sure to stop eating after dinner (no late snacks), is an alternative. Thanks for sharing your experience!

@@naturalbreed3745 It's true, AND we are all individuals. The research says that probitoics improve your chances against SIBO, and not just one shabby study, but a meta-analysis of I believe 19 clinical studies. On the other hand, the doctors that treat and study SIBO, like Dr. Pimentel, say they cause relapse. I know he is usually treating the sickest and most recalcitrant SIBO patients, but even as a coach, I see a lot of variability in people's ability to tolerate even the highest quality probiotics. I generally teach the triple probiotic therapy protocol that Dr. Ruscio recommends, but not everyone can tolerate all three. I myself can't tolerate all three! I do need to work on reintroducing, low and slow, but I'm not sure how it will go. My root cause of SIBO is a structural issue that slows down my motility, so adding too much probiotic may just allow too much bacteria into my small intestine, just by way of slow gut motility.
