Probably their most iconic and legendary performance. That whole headlining set at Download 2009 was epic, unfortunately it was the last major event they played before founding member Paul Gray passed away. Even then, they came back from the brink of breaking up and never performing again, and they came back with .5 The Gray Chapter and you could see they still had it but everyone wanted the old Slipknot. When they dropped their new album, We Are Not Your Kind, they blew everyone away with one of the most angry and brutal albums of 2019.
A big note also Paul Gray was there song/text writer for there Songs, that i think was the hardest part for them aswell Being family tight. I was so glad I got to see them at there top with paul gray in swedens metaltown 2009! Rip Paul. And well said matt i agrre with your statement. The download festival is a legendary preformance!
They are ABSOLUTELY AMAZING LIVE! If you ever get a chance to see them, GO! You won't regret it. I've seen them 11 times now and every time has blown my mind.
If Wolf Hunters ever get the chance Download Festival, Bloodstock and Wacken Open Air is a must play festival for Rock and Metal bands IMO. Copenhell is pretty good too and they have a tendency to invite small bands from around the world and put them on stage.
This is the band that got me into metal. I listened to some rock or metal but not a metal head till slipknot. But from looking at slipknot on RU-vid I found other bands as well like cannibal corpse
My favorite of the original members, well from first album, is Jim Root. Plus whom else plays double Orange stacks and on Fender Telecaster, be honest.
I was blessed to see Joey Jordison's revolving drum kick live especially since he's left the band sadly it was fuckin' amazing..Slipknot is a blast to see live..Maggot forever and stay sic
@@Xeroforte Really? Oh, OK. This could be a language translation issue, or it might be a generational issue. So, I'll cover them both. In English, the term "get down" means to party or dance. For context, I am 44 and am pretty sure this phrase was most popular with my parents' generation, although it is used within my generation, too.
I dont know why everyone recommends this show. Its good but its not near the same quality violent energy from the 2001 London show “Disasterpieces” dvd
'it appears that there is a brotherhood'. dont let appearance fool you. this is the clown and corey show, and everyone else can be thrown out now without much to say.
@@TheWolfHunterZ loved the reaction! They do have a brotherhood. They had a member Chris, who was fired, not so long ago. He felt that he wasn't getting his fair share so he sued clown and Corey and their manager. Part of the lawsuit, the part against the manager, was dismissed due to no wrong doing. The rest of the lawsuit is still pending since they are done separately . The covid stuff has really slowed things down. So you have those people that just make assumptions and run with it lol. Chris went after Corey and Shawn because they have more money than he does. Clown has side projects in film, videos and working with other bands. Corey has his other band stone sour, he is a new York Times best selling author. He's written 4 books. Plus he does a bunch of acoustic shows and charity gigs. He's a very busy man. Chris did no side projects. So he feels he's being ripped off. The very strange thing is there a 9 members and nobody else has a problem. Sorry this was so long! I just get irritated when people act like they know what goes on behind the scene. None of us were there or are involved. That's the problem with assumption. Hope you guys continue to explore more slipknot😁😁
