Saw him play this live a few weeks ago. Other than having it mounted on a stand rather than holding it, it was pretty much just like the video.

Yeah, in an interview he said that the instrument is super heavy, so that’s why he doesn’t hold it anymore.

Steve Vai used to take guitar lessons from Joe Satriani I think that’s why he’s so good at playing guitar years of shredding and learning about different types of music from different countries has broaden his horizon also I think he really went to Boot Camp when he was with Frank zapper😅😅😅

I speak to a girl from Spain who works for Steve Vai, and I asked her what the weight of the Hydra guitar is, since a couple of months ago Steve used it live, but on a guitar stand, and she told me that the Hydra weighs the weight of a car engine, but thanks to movie magic, you can see Steve holding it in the video, and it makes sense, because if you look closely... where is the strap on the guitar in the video? 👀

Steve Vai is one of the few men in the world who is considered a GOD of the guitar and it is not for less, the way of playing is inhuman, it is beyond comprehension. The Hydra is not a musical instrument, it is rather a machine that only he is worthy of playing, just like Thor's fucking hammer only he is worth touching, so is Steve Vai's Hydra.

Can you smell what the wolf hunters are cooking lol I’ve always wanted to say that but anyways Steve Vai is the greatest guitarist to me and that is one bad ass guitar I believe the top is an acoustic the middle is a electric guitar seven string I believe and the bottom is the bass and I heard there’s a harp on there somewhere as well I could be wrong though but great reaction video guys I was wondering when you were going to do this one and thank you to whoever did request it

Steve or Eddie Van Halen would be the only two guitar players that could do something amazing like this. I'm sure you know Steve played with David Lee Roth after Van Halen split up. Steve has said himself in several interviews that he idolized Eddie
