Super Saiyan Vol 1 is one of the most fun and original releases of the 2010s. I feel like the whole Chicago drill scene/Chief Keef/etc kinda stole Sicko Mobb's thunder and they never got the wider recognition they deserve which sucks because they had a really unique sound.
Nah sicko Mobb influenced a lot of rappers. Sicko and Speaker Knockerz came out the same time and influenced Uzi, Carti, Yachty, A Boogie, Lil Tjay, Nav Yeat etc. Chief Keef, Sicko Mobb, Dej Loaf, and Speaker Knockerz we’re ahead of their time for the 2010’s rap scene and 2020’s.
this song(and album) deadass helped me through one of the roughest periods of my life. i used to loop this, and remy rick routine multiple times per day, they instantly uplifted me on days where i felt like shit. it's been months since i first discovered sicko mobb, but here i am revisiting these songs again during another painful period of life, and just like before, i was able to forget about everything that was hurting me as soon as i heard the song start.
They were signed to the pop mega producers Stargate for a few months iirc. But the industry thought they should be Silento style gimmick pop artists. Their original bop sound was too ahead of its time for 2014 big labels to understand.
