Man there is just something about watching the blind wave crew being enthusiastic about games and stuff that just lifts your spirits when you’re having a dark day ❤
I only got into civ vi during covid, but boy was it a time sync and it sure helped time have even less meaning than it already did in those first few months. Knowing there's a new game makes me want to go back and try all the older games now since I know v and iv are so beloved
I think Civ VII will be massive, as Civ VI also had to contend with the paradox grand strategy boom, where a lot of Civ veterans were ready for something different. It feels like just like with the revival of Imperator Rome strategy folks are ready for something new.
Paradox are so overhyped it’s a joke They’re by far one of the most predatory producers in the business; on par with EA, Activision and Creative Assembly
VI is a hard game for the series, it went back on so many Civ V and IV features and re-wrote a lot of Civ specific things. But at the same time, it brought back many things Civ V left out. Unfortunately some of the V dev team disagreed and left. I hope that VII will do to VI what V did to IV, by taking what is fun and simplifying and creating the new 'benchmark' for what Civ should be.
"I have never played one of these games, yet that trailer was so hype" Haha yes, this is exactly the point of the trailer. To get new players hyped for a franchise they never played
Civilization tends to suck my time up. I get into the endless cycle of "1 more turn" I put hundreds of hours into civ 3 and 4. I hope 7 brings some of the elements of civ 3 and 4 back into it. I have been playing civilization games since I was 8 or 9...
As a Civ4 fan, I still like every Civ. I don't need it to be better. As long as it's new and offers something interesting, why does it have to be better? As long as it isn't worse.
