From THICK AS A BRICK album, a cover of a Special Cut of Side B.
Well! Side B of “Thick as a Brick” is an intricate progressive arrangement, with an impactful energy and nostalgic atmosphere. The Old Grey Mouse (we) considered promoting a special cut for this side of the album, shortening the song to take this more energetic part and give it a personal color.
The drum solo, in a symbolic performance by our dear drummer Marco Fabbri, tried to reproduce Barlow's atmosphere at the time. The guitars, bass, and flute were difficult to imitate, but I believe the final work was convincing.
This is the kind of cover that needs to be seen until the end, given the details of the distorted flute and effects that Mr. Anderson used in the original recording. For us, it was a lot of work. That's why we were a little late on this one.
To complicate matters, we lost the original version of our video and had to start from scratch. The vocals weren't easy either and I know there's a notable pronunciation problem, but it was the best we could do.
I hope you appreciate it. There were hours and hours of careful listening and repetition to sound as close as possible. Like, comment, criticize. The next cover will be a part of what we liked from A Passion Play. Stay tuned!
